The Farmer’s Marriage Bargain by Heidi Mann is a sweet marriage of convenience story. This one has a unique twist to it. I enjoyed getting to know Carter McCaw, Emma Bailey, and the triplets. We also get to spend time with Carter’s family. The triplets are adorable and busy. I cannot imagine having a sick child who needs an expensive medication. Emma certainly had a conundrum on her hands. Both Carter and Emma had good reasons for not wanting to marry for love in the future, which is why a marriage of convenience was not a big deal for them. You know that nothing is that simple. I thought The Farmer’s Marriage Bargain was well-written with steady pacing. I like how faith was woven throughout the story. It is the third book in the Triple C Ranch series, but it can be read as a standalone. This is the first book that I have read by Heidi Mann, but I will definitely be reading more of her stories (including the other books in the Triple C Ranch series). The Farmer’s Marriage Bargain is a heartwarming tale with a sick child, a medicine problem, a man with a plan, a nuptial of convenience, galloping goats, big dogs, and a friendly family.

I love a Marriage of Convenience story & watching Emma & Carter fall in love was adorable. The triplets stole the show, and the added bonus of a family store was delightful.
There was a little too much repetiveness for me. I loved the storyline but there were too many references/reminders of things that I felt unnecessary.

I love these Love Inspired books with their elements of faith, hope and love that flow through every page. I loved this book so much! It was a heartwarming read with a realistic and interesting storyline. Heidi Mann always writes well and entertaining stories. The main characters have many layers and each has been hurt in the past so they have some obstacles to get over, under and through. This story really touched my heart. It had me rooting for Carter and Emma to find contentment and happiness with each other and overcoming the their pasts to build a family full of love even though they started out as a marriage of convenience. I loved that they were friends first and enjoyed seeing their relationship grow and evolve. This was an inspirational read with a wonderful HEA. You will love this sweet and enjoyable book!.

The Farmer’s Marriage Bargain by Heidi Main, book four in the Triple C Ranch series, is a heartwarming, marriage of convenience between a widow and her husband’s best friend. Emma is widowed with three-year old triplets and has a farm and store to run. Before her husband passed away, he asked his best friend, Carter, to help her. Carter has been supporting her and the kids as he could, but when Emma can no longer afford the medication for one of the triplets, Carter suggests that they enter into a marriage of convenience; as his insurance would cover the medication. Emma believes that she could never love anyone but her late husband, and after being hurt before Carter doesn’t want to fall in love again. Only the more time they spend together, the more their feelings for each other grow. Emma feels guilty about falling for Carter, while Carter thinks it’s wrong to fall for his best friend’s wife. It’s going to take some a deep conversation, honesty, and trust before these two overcome obstacles on the way to being a true family.

I enjoyed this story but as this was the first book in the series I’ve read, I felt as if I’ve missed a few details that might have been explained in the earlier books. Carter was amazing from the start, especially as her husband. Their nervousness about their feelings felt real, and watching their chemistry grow was so nice. There were many sweet moments in the story, especially with Carter’s and Emma’s interactions with the triplets. It was fun to watch this new little family come together.

Part of an interconnected series. Can be read as a standalone but better if read in order. Her dream life was upended when her husband died leaving her with triplets and a farm. Having one of her kids diagnosed with a chronic condition that requires medicine not covered by her insurance might destroy her chances of keeping everything together.. He was her husband's best friend and wants to help her anyway he can but a marriage of convenience? God's plan doesn't always make sense but when followed the rewards are unimaginable.

Emma Bailey lost the love of her life, her husband, and is now raising their young triplets on her own. She does have the help of her husband’s best friend, Carter Mcaw, and his family. The goat farm and country store that was her and her husband’s dream, is doing well, but her concern is for her daughter who has a serious illness. The cost of the medication that her daughter needs may soon mean an end to the farm. She is surprised when Carter offers her a marriage in name only for her and the children to access his medical insurance. He knows that his insurance will cover the medicine needed. Carter had almost married, but his own health issue had caused his intended to walk away Although she is hesitant, she realizes that she really has no choice and Carter’s continued care and love for her little family has meant the world to her. Believing that she could never love another, will she finally admit to the attraction that she now feels for him? A lovely, sweet second chance romance for Emma and Carter. Lovely Story

While the marriage of convenience trope is not usually my favorite, this one ultimately won me over. I loved that Emma and Carter had a history that connected them, the premise that they married under, and the way their relationship developed. But I especially loved the three little ones and how they fit into everything.

The story is full of love, hope, family, overcoming, and faith. It is also about letting go of what we know and being comfortable with being open to God's leading to a new and unexpected path. Each element played a very special part in Emma and Carter's relationship that made theirs a very lovely, profound, and deeply felt story that was a joy to read and one that I recommend.

The Farmer's Marriage Bargain by Heidi Main
An Uplifting Inspirational Romance (Triple C Ranch Book 4)
They agreed to a practical marriage
But love never goes as planned…
Raising three children alone was never part of the plan, but after losing her husband, Emma Bailey is doing the best she can. Until she discovers that she can’t afford the medication her youngest child needs. Suddenly, her late husband’s best friend comes to the rescue. Carter McCaw promised he’d always watch over the family and the farm. But when he proposes a marriage of convenience, Emma’s not so sure. It seems like the perfect solution…until love blooms between them and complicates everything.
This is Emma , Robbie Bailey and her three-year-old triplets Cassie, Mikey and Addie's story.
This is Carter McCaw's story.
Emma Bailey sank into a camp chair outside her one-level rambler, exhausted yet thankful for the sound of laughter from her three-year-old triplets—especially Addie, whose recent illness had given Emma a terrifying scare. At least they now had a diagnosis of juvenile arthritis, and the treatment she’d been on for two months kept her out of pain. A bee darted toward Emma. She leaned back, tensing as it hovered near her pink top. When the insect flew away, she relaxed, but the chatter of her children playing in the yard brought back her financial dilemma. The biologics drug that relieved Addie’s joint pain and swelling wasn’t covered under their medical plan. Which meant every filled prescription plummeted Emma deeper into debt.
“What’s going on?” She startled at Carter’s voice.
He strode over, blocking the afternoon sun with his hand. His eyebrows were pinched together in concern, as if he could read her despair. He sported crisp dress pants and a striped polo shirt, all clean, which was more than she could say about herself. As an accountant, he always looked fresh and ready for a business meeting. Though, today his thick brown hair was messed up, as though he’d been running his fingers through it out of frustration.
Since she’d been focused on reading the all-important email, she hadn’t heard his sedan pull into the gravel drive.
I recommend this book.

I am so happy for another Triple C Ranch series story! In The Farmer's Marriage Bargain, by author Heidi Main, we meet Emma Bailey, widowed mother to three-year-old adorable triplets. One of the children needs expensive medication, which puts the future of the farm that was Emma and her husband's dream into uncertain territory.
Enter Carter McCaw (you met his sister Autumn in "Her Loyal Companion"), affectionately known as "Unkie C". A confirmed "bachelor until the rapture", he's been watching over Emma and the kids since his best friend's death, but he's about to step up in a way like never before. He's got a golden insurance plan that Emma needs, and there's only one way to get them on it.
I really enjoy marriage of convenience tropes. These two adults are willing to commit for life for the sake of the children's needs. There's no solid footing starting this marriage off, but is it possible the love in their hearts for the children might just flow over to each other? Could the Lord be slowly dismantling emotional walls and burdens to make a beautiful new path for Carter and Emma...together? You will definitely want to find out, plus you know I'm overjoyed when I get an epilogue, and this one is a doozy!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

This heartwarming slow-burn romance follows Emma, a widowed mother of triplets, and Carter, her late husband’s best friend. To secure better insurance for one of her children, they enter a marriage of convenience, both vowing not to fall in love. However, as they spend more time together, their feelings deepen, leaving them torn between guilt and the possibility of a real future together. The story beautifully explores love, grief, and second chances, with Carter’s unwavering support and their growing chemistry making for a touching and emotional read.

A marriage of convenience to her late husband's best friend seems to be the answer to Emma's problems. Marrying Carter will provide insurance coverage for one of her triplets' medication she cannot otherwise afford. For Carter, marrying Emma will make it easier to keep his promise to watch over his best friend's family and farm. What will happen when the time spent working together leads to feelings neither of them want or expected? Emma doesn't want to forget her late husband, their love, or the dreams they shared.

This is a story of learning to let go of the past and trusting God with the future. Since Emma is dealing with loss, parts of the story are emotional. The triplets are adorable and fun, providing laughs and smiles. Carter is a hero in a quiet, unexpected way. The Farmer's Marriage Bargain is a great story filled with emotions, including joy, and surprises. This is a must-read book. I received an advance copy to read and all opinions expressed are mine alone.

Can a marriage of convenience turn into lasting love?

When widowed single mother to triplets, Emma Bailey, can't afford the medication that her daughter needs, her late husband's friend suggests a surprising solution.

Engaging and charming, this is a sweet story of love in the broken places. Emma is a fantastic mother to her three young ones, and has been doing a great job of taking care of them and keeping things running since her husband's death. I liked that she and Carter bonded over their faith. Carter is a thoughtful friend, and I liked how he took his time giving them space to get used to him. He is great with the kids, and I liked that there are great everyday interactions, as well as a strong bond of shared faith.

A winning story of faith, family, and finding love again. I liked that both Emma and Carter are Christians who took their commitment seriously. The three kiddos are adorable, and I liked how the story talked about the struggles of living with chronic disease. A heartwarming second chance romance that is well worth the read!

4.5/5

This was such a sweet story. I was drawn to it because it’s a marriage of convenience story, and I absolutely love those. Although most of the ones I’ve read before were marriages of convenience out on the frontier. This is a contemporary story where a young widow with 3 year old triplets agrees to marry her late husband’s best friend for insurance purposes. One of Emma’s children has a disease that requires very expensive medication, and she cannot afford it without selling her home to pay for it. So Carter marries her so the family can be added to his health insurance policy. It’s such an interesting premise.

The thing I loved most about this story is the animals and the farm life. Emma owns a goat farm (a ranch, as she calls it) with a small storefront where she sells her goat milk along with homemade treats and other consigned goods from the local community. Carter immerses himself into the farm life right away and I loved his enthusiasm for feeding the animals, property upkeep, and helping with care of the children. He is an attentive father to the triplets, having always wanted to be a father, so together they make a great family unit. There’s just that nagging issue of not being in love with one another—

Emma has to work past the guilt of marrying again and eventually having romantic feelings for her husband. Carter has to work thru trust issues from a past relationship that broke his heart. It’s a slow process, but the two were friends before they married, so they have their friendship to build on. They both did a wonderful job honoring Emma’s late husband and also being respectful of one another’s boundaries. However once they both learn to open their hearts and let love in again, it was so sweet to see them realize that their marriage could be so much more fulfilling.

It’s a great book, and the fourth in a series. I made out just fine not having read the previous books before this one, but I want to quickly circle back and read the book immediately before this one, featuring Carter’s sister Autumn, who is a dog trainer. I looove romances with dogs in them. Autumn trained the two Great Pyrenees dogs that work on the farm to protect the goats from coyotes.

Great story, I loved it. I received a digital copy for review from the publisher via NetGalley. I wasn’t required to write a positive review, but I did because I loved this story so much. Thank you, Harlequin Love Inspired!

The Farmer’s Marriage Bargain by Heidi Main. This is my first book I have read by this author and I loved it! Emma married Robbie the love of her life and had triplets, Mikey, Cassie and Addie. When Robbie dies and shortly after Addie becomes sick and is diagnosed with juvenile arthritis the hospital bills and medicine that she needs is overwhelming. Carter was Robbie’s best friend ands he asked Carter to take care of his family. Carter proposes marriage of convenience so Addie can have his gold plan insurance. This is a must read. Thank you to #NetGalley, #Harlequin-Romance and the author for this arc book. This is my honest opinion. Releases April 1, 2025

Confronted with an extremely expensive medication for one of her triplets, Emma Bailey does not know where to turn. This was not the life she expected or that she and her late husband had planned. When her good friend Carter comes up with the idea of a marriage of convenience so that Addie could receive the medication with his insurance, she is horrified. Will she overcome her hesitation and strike a bargain? Deserted as a child, can she finally begin to understand that not only has she been grafted into God’s family but she no longer needs to do everything for herself as she is now part of Carter’s large family?

An early copy of this lovely marriage of convenience story was received through Love Inspired and BookFunnel. These thoughts are my own and were in no way solicited.

Emma Bailey is raising her three children alone after husband passed away. When one of the kids medicine is beyond her budget Carter McCaw suggest she remarry for health insurance. Emma doesn't really trust a log of people and suggest that Carter and she marry. Carter doesn't ever plan on marrying after his college girlfriend dumped him.
They do marry but he lives in an RV on her farm property and spends time with her and the kids. As time goes by they realize that they really do love each other.

I'm not a fan of Marriage of Conviences but this book was a fun read.
Each worried about the other. Each has a secret.
Emma is an interesting person and one that made me want to smh head at her at times. I love that she's a protective mom and a go getter.
This is a fast paced book and one that will melt your heart all at the same time.
