I really wanted to like this book as I am a huge fan of Eden Victoria on tiktok, and it had tropes that I generally do enjoy... however, around the 35% mark, I dnfed this book. I got an arc sent to me through Netgalley, and it's the first one I have been approved of, so it was disappointing when I just couldn't finish it... I tried multiple times, and it has taken me an extraordinary amount of time to get through the chunk that I did. The copy I received was so badly written in terms of grammar and spelling that it needed a lot more editing and was painful to read. I felt the characters were trying way too hard to be 3 dimensional when, in reality, they felt as interesting as a cardboard cut out. without spoilering anything, there were also plot points that had holes in them or didn't make any sense. If I had finished it, I would have most likely given it 1 star, but as I didn't continue with the story, I don't feel comfortable rating it.
If Eden writes something in the future, I might give it a go, but this one was just not well executed, and I'm sad to say it wasn't for me.

I thought this was a cute ya read. Nothing mind blowing but a nice palette cleanser read.
I thought for a first book it was a good job and I did like the tension between Daphne & Milosh ... also LOVE the mmcs name

I really wanted to love this book as I love Eden Victoria over on Tiktok, however this book fell flat for me. I did not believe the romance between the two main characters- it felt very insta lovey, and the writing style as a whole was not one I jelled with.

AHHH OH MY GAUD. THIS BOOK HAD ME IN A CHOKEHOLD. I legit ate this up in less than 24 hours. Milosh and Daphne, top of my list of best book couple. The romance, the angst, the suspense. This had everything that I wanted.

“Daddy” was said a few too many times and I feel uncomfortable😩 I can’t even finish it unfortunately

4.25 stars! this was such a bingeable addictive read!
when i found out eden (one of my favourite booktokers) was releasing a romance i was so curious to see what it would be like & i see so much of eden in this novel, so of course i ate it up!
we follow daphne, a seventeen year old heiress who is accomplished, has everything at the tip of her fingers & is fully obsessed with pink. and then there’s milosh who is hired to be her bodyguard as there’s an imminent threat from the get go. and it’s just a whirlwind - definitely had me on my toes & the romance was fun & definitely had me blushing on multiple occasions! would also like to highlight that they spoke russian to each other (which had me melting into a puddle cause im such a softy like that)!
the found family was heart warming and there were times i was giggling (especially when milo became protective and was doing questionable things in the name of protecting daphne!)
the only thing that i did wish was for multiple scenes to be stretched out more as it was a bit jumpy & things moved a bit too quickly been daphne & milosh initially.
read it you like:
- bodyguard romance
- princess treatment
- fake dating
- obsessed with pink
- closed door romance
Thank you so much to Netgalley & Simon and Schuster for the arc!

I was able to read this in less 4 hours and whilst I did enjoy it, I wish I’d loved it more.
I love bodyguard romances especially with an age gap but there was just something about this. Maybe because it’s a YA and the FMC was 17 had something to do with it. Don’t get me wrong it was fast paced, with plenty of action and would be perfect for YA readers who don’t want or love spice in their books.
I loved the tension and crime aspects and it definitely kept me entertained and hooked on the story. It just didn’t hit the mark for me as much as I wanted it to.

Close Protection delivers an exciting mix of romance and suspense, making it an addictive read from start to finish. Daphne finds herself in danger, and Milosh is assigned as her bodyguard. When the threats escalate, fake dating becomes their best option, forcing them into close quarters and undeniable tension
Their chemistry is electric, and I loved how their relationship felt healthy and built on mutual trust. The suspense kept me engaged, and while I predicted a couple of twists, the fast pacing made it impossible to put down
Amelia and Henry brought a fun dynamic, and I’d love to see more of them in future books. If you enjoy bodyguard romances with fake dating and action-packed moments, this one is worth the read!

The reason I requested this book was I love the author ans she's one of my favourite booktokers. The plot seemed like a book I usually devour.
I wouldn't be giving spoilers as the book is yet to be released, but please read the review and take it as a grain of salt as its just my opinion.
I loved the synopsis of the book, however, unfortunately this just felt short. As someone who rarely gives up on a book, I tried several times to get through it but it wasn't just sticking upto and midway I gave up and DNF'd the book. I can't say it felt flat but it was just kinda too cliche, cringey and definitely a story I would have read in my teen years on wattpad!
Although this wasn't a good reading to me, this would be for someone else!! I'm just sad it just didn't work out for me.

Thank you so so much to the publisher and NetGalley for this e-arc!
Pre read-Review:
Eden is one of my absolute favorite BookTokers, so the moment I heard she was releasing her own book, I had to have it. I already have my copy preordered for my shelf, but getting this e-arc I literally let out an audible gasp! also... the synopsis a bodyguard romance with fake dating? Say less! Milosh already sounds like the perfect book boyfriend and I just know Daphne is going to be a character I adore. Also, the fact that it’s written by someone whose book recs I trust so much makes me even more excited. Is it release day yet?!
