There is a nine book series devoted to David Slaton's earlier days and I hope to read that series eventually. Now David is the new chief of CIA clandestine operations although he chafes at what amounts to a desk job after all his years of risking his life being the one DOING things. Dark Vector is a new series featuring Tru Miller, a rookie operator who is known for being a wild card, and who has his own reasons for wanting to take on this suicidal mission to save defecting Russian pilot, Colonel Maxim Primakov.

The story takes us to wilds of Siberia and almost everyone involved in the rescue is doing the impossible. Tru is obviously the right man for this job, it's evident in the manner, with no prior warning, he's makes his way from China to the Siberia wilds with almost no provisions. We also meet top female test pilot, Kai Drake, and her trusted mechanic friend. Once these three Americans find their target, they too are targets of very dangerous search teams who will do anything to not allow them to get to safety. I look forward to the next book in the series because I think I already know what Tru will be doing next. The narration by Noah Michael Levine is top notch!
