Finlay Donovan does it again! Elle Cosimano always knows how to keep me on my toes, stay on the edge of my seat, and swoon over Finlay and Nick's relationship all at the same time! I can't wait for the next book!

I am absolutely in love with this series. This book was my favorite I think, and I said that about the last book too, I know, but I feel like this one even tops the last. There is so much more communication and openness between Finlay and Nick and I love to see their story unfold. The addition of other quirky characters helped move this one along really fast and while there were a few twists thrown in there, and I did see where this was going earlier than some of the others, it didn't take away from the fun that was this book.
I love the audio for this series, the narrator is amazing and keeps me engaged the entire time.
Thanks to Macmillian, Netgalley and Ell Cosimano for an ALC.

I am a HUGE fan of this series and book 5 did not disappoint! We pick up close to where we left off in book 4 and follow Finlay, Vero and Mrs. Haggerty as they get themselves caught up in yet another wild mystery! I really enjoyed getting to know Mrs. Haggerty more in this book. She went from a nosy neighbor that seemed to thrive on the drama of others in past books to someone that was fiercely loyal deep down at her core. I found myself rooting for characters I didn't normally root for- like Steven and Mrs. Haggerty! I did find the Nick angle to get pretty unrealistic in this book (even more than prior books!!) but it didn't bother me or take away from the story.
If there is one thing that felt different in this book it would be that it felt less about Finlay and Vero as the dynamic duo I have come to absolutely love. There wasn't as much Vero humor which I missed as I got to the end so I hope we get more of that in the next one!
Overall, this was a fun ride and I cannot wait to see what happens next! As always, Angela Dawe MAKES the audio book!!!!!

Thank you NetGalley for this audio ARC. I absolutely love this series, and this book didn't disappoint. Finlay continues to be in sticky situations and somehow manages to get herself out of it. I never want this series to end.

The Finlay Donovan series is my favorite series of all time! I read a lot of books, and there’s just something SO special about this series. Each and every book is consistently amazing and always delivers with punchy quips, hilarious scenarios that Vero and Finlay find themselves in, and sweet romance that leaves you swooning. I especially enjoyed this book because there’s just something so fun about curmudgeonly old women in books. It was fun that this storyline was different from the previous books, but still had the classic Finlay feel. I’m already excited for the next book!! As per usual, Angela Dawes provided a flawless performance with the narration. She IS Finlay and Vero to me, and I hope that she signs on to every single book. I’d even be down to have her play both characters in the movie adaptation. Just put her in a wig and call it a day 🤣

“Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave” is the 5th book in the series and my favorite. My rating is 4,5 ⭐️
The series needs to be read in order.

Thank you St. Martin's Press and Macmillan Audio for the ARC and ALC. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

In this book the story continues after there was a body discovered in the backyard of Finlay’s neighbor, Mrs. Haggerty.
After she is cleared by the police, she stays at Finlay’s until some repairs are done at the house.
This book, just like the others, is funny, full of twists (that are more realistic) and brings back some characters from the first one. But my favorite think is that there is less Steven and more Nick ❤️.
We even get a jealous Nick when Julian makes an appearance.

The audiobook is narrated by Angela Dawe and she manages to change her voice based on the character and uses different accents. It was fun listening to this book and I enjoyed it more this way.

Based on the ending I guess there will be at least another book which is great. I recommend this series if you like mystery with a bit of romance and a lot of funny moments.

I received this audiobook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This was another great installment of the Finlay Donovan series. I have listened to all of the books in this series because I really like the narrator. She does a great job differentiating between the different characters and does male voices really well. It’s a very engaging and enjoyable listening experience.
I am a big fan of this series. The pacing is great, making it hard to put down- or stop listening. I felt like Nick was more of a presence than in previous books which also helped drive the plot along. So many of the relationships are so great. I love Vero! Definitely worth a read!

The Finlay Donovan series just keeps getting better, and Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave is another wildly entertaining ride! The audiobook version is an absolute treat—narrator Angela Dawe does an incredible job bringing all the characters to life, making the chaos, humor, and heart of Finlay’s world even more immersive.

This installment sees Finlay and Vero once again caught up in an unexpected mystery, this time helping their nosy neighbor Mrs. Haggerty when a body turns up in her backyard. Of course, nothing is ever simple for this duo, and their latest adventure is filled with twists, laugh-out-loud moments, and plenty of heartwarming friendship. I also loved seeing Nick take on a bigger role—his dynamic with Finlay adds even more depth (and swoon-worthy moments) to the story.

Balancing suspense, humor, and genuine emotion, Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave is another fantastic chapter in this addictive series. If you love smart, fast-paced mysteries with unforgettable characters, this audiobook is a must-listen!

As always Finlay managed to make me laugh like an idiot and in this instance even cry! It was just as wild, nonsensical and hilarious shenanigans but somehow still felt fresh and entertaining. I love it and I cannot wait to see what Finlay and Vero get into in the next book (and more Julian cameos won’t hurt even if he isn’t end game 😭)

Ah finally back into the world of Finlay and Vero as the best realistic hero’s. I have to say I was a bit nervous starting this series back up because it the last one was a bit hard to get into and Veros short story was meh. This finally feels like we are really getting into the meat of these characters. I have to say the best part of this was really getting to know Mrs. Haggarty. This book was one of her best! Can’t wait to go on the next adventure with them! Thank you so much to NetGalley for the advanced digital copy & audiobook so I could flip back and forth and zoom through this!

This latest cozy mystery from Elle Cosimano has Finlay trying to help exonerate her ex from murder charges and taking in her elderly neighbor. I really enjoyed the evolution of Finlay's relationship with her police officer boyfriend and the focus on women getting revenge on men who do them wrong. Good on audio and perfect for fans of authors like Nita Prose. This book ended on a cliffhanger and I'm excited to learn what happens in the next book! Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

Another great Finlay Donovan story! I enjoyed this book more than the past books in the series. The close-to-home setting felt more grounded. It was fun to learn about Finlay's neighbors and read about her wrangling two rowdy kids while solving a mystery.

3.75 stars

Finlay Donovan has taken us all on a wild ride over the past five books, and this might be her best feature yet for a slightly shady reason; she's overshadowed by Mrs. Haggerty. If you, too, enjoy Finlay but sometimes want a little less of her and a little more of the folks around her (VERO!), then Mrs. Haggerty will bring you joy here, too.

Mrs. Haggerty is a hilarious character who is full of surprises, and this is in part because as an older woman, she is somewhat invisible in a culture that values women when they are young and beautiful. Mrs. H won't be silenced, though. She's absolutely wild in the very best ways, and this is most obvious when she is interacting with small children and outrageous parents of small kids. I really need more of this character in future books!

The catalyst for drama and hijinks here is the discovery of a body in Mrs. Haggerty's backyard and - as usual - Finlay's troubling proximity to all of the chaos. This woman cannot help but get involved in all things at all times!

I continue to struggle with a particular aspect of these novels, though I will add that the fangirling over folks in this profession I'm referencing is less extreme here than in other parts of the series. I hope we continue to get a reprieve.

Overall, this is an entertaining inclusion in the series with the MVP award (MVC?) going clearly to Mrs. Haggerty. I recommend the audiobook for great narration when and where accessible.

It is the third best book in the series. Ties up much of the story that has been dragging on since book one.

Humorous and cozy mystery. I look forward to the next one.

I was given a copy for an honest review

As much as I love Finlay Donovan and this series, but sadly, this book in the series was just 4 stars. There wasn't much action. The premise was a bit boring, no real murder taken place in this book. This book I feel is a filler in the series.

Love this series!! It gets better and better with every book. In this installment, Finlay and Vero gets stuck with Finlay's neighbour Mrs. Haggerty as her house remains an active crime scene and on top of that, Finlay's ex-husband, Steve's gets arrested for murder. Finlay and Vero has no choice but to get involved and help solve the murder. Finlay, to her core, knows that Steve did not do this. Like the previous books, this book was so much for to listen to and it was all engaging! There were so many layers to the mystery and so much going on. Loved it all and cannot wait for the next installment.

Finn and Vero are back from Atlantic City, ready to get back into routine, potty training Zach and keeping Delia out of trouble at school. What wasn’t on their agenda - a dead body being found in Mrs. Haggerty’s backyard and Steven being the main suspect! With nowhere to go after being cleared by the police, her house a crime scene and no power, Mrs. Haggerty makes herself at home with Finlay and Vero. The three have many secrets between them, but which one will solve the murder mystery?

I’m a huge fan of this series and I hope it will continue for a long while yet! This was a fun domestic mystery and the rag-tag, odd-ball characters are what makes it so loveable. Mrs. Haggerty added a fun twist to the plot and a wrench into Finn and Vero’s hijinks. I enjoy the every day obstacles thrown at Finn and how she tackles the smallest and weirdest events. Raising her kids as a divorcee, on top of all the skeletons her and Vero are hiding, and dating a hot cop, it’s a lot to juggle!

Narrated by Angela Dawe, her performance makes these books so fun to listen to. She is these characters to me - from Finn and Vero, to the kids, Mrs. Haggerty, Nick, and Cam. She adds so much character to all the voices, it’s like a full cast narration.

I hope all Finlay fans will enjoy this novel just as I have. I’m super intrigued to see where the next book might take us. I’m only slightly upset by reading this early copy, but definitely looking forward to more adventures with Finn, Vero and the crew 💕 4.5⭐️

Thank you to Macmillan Audio for the audiobook to review.

I'm always a sucker for a new Finlay Donovan story. There are some that I enjoy more than others, but unfortunately I think this one was among one of my least favorites of the series. It still had my interest and of course, I always enjoy being with these characters again. The audiobook was great! I love how the same narrator has done all the Finlay books. She also does the perfect voice for Vero. Overall, these books are always a fun time and a great palate cleanser.
