If you love a romance with drama, ambition, and fiery attraction, Break Point is a fantastic pick that delivers both heart and heat!

This was a book from a series that I hadn't been familiar with so I was startting in the middle and didn't know the tone or characters that well. This story was fine but it wans't for me.

Break Point by Yahrah St. John was an enjoyable second-chance romance with just the right mix of drama, ambition, and chemistry. Teagan’s journey from heartbreak to reclaiming her confidence felt authentic, and I loved seeing her navigate the tension between past wounds and present desires. Her ex’s reappearance was as frustrating as it was compelling, making their dynamic all the more engaging. The country club setting added an extra layer of stakes, especially with Teagan’s personal history tied to the sport.
LaDonna Raeh's narration was fantastic. She brought Teagan’s emotions to life, capturing both her vulnerability and her determination. Her voice made the story more immersive, adding depth to the characters and their struggles.

Break Point by Yahrah St. John serves up a sizzling mix of romance, second chances, and intense tennis rivalry. The story follows Teagan Williams, a former pro tennis player who lost both her career and her heart due to a betrayal. After rebuilding her life, she’s coaxed back onto the court for a country club tournament, but she doesn’t expect to face her ex, Dominic Fletcher—the man who once stole her heart and left her shattered.
Dominic has spent years focusing solely on his tennis career, but now, as he participates in a charity tournament, he’s reminded of the unfinished business with Teagan. Their chemistry is undeniable, and as they go head-to-head both on and off the court, old feelings resurface. The tension between them crackles, adding a layer of passion and emotional depth to the already intense sports rivalry.
The audiobook narration brings the characters to life with energy and authenticity, capturing the fiery emotions and sizzling chemistry between Teagan and Dominic. The pacing keeps the story moving quickly, with a perfect balance of romance, tension, and personal growth.
Break Point is a fast-paced, fun listen for anyone who enjoys second-chance romances with a sports twist. The emotional stakes are high, the chemistry undeniable, and the tension on the court is matched only by the sparks flying off it. If you're looking for a story of redemption, rekindled love, and a competitive edge, this audiobook is sure to hit the spot.

A Sizzling Second Chance on the Tennis Court 🎾
Yahrah St. John's "Break Point" delivers a compelling second-chance sports romance that serves up both emotional depth and sizzling chemistry. As a standalone in the "Six Gems" series, it's a perfect pick for readers looking for a fresh and engaging story.
Plot Summary:
Teagan Williams, a former pro tennis player, is forced to confront her past when her ex and former rival, Dominic Fletcher, reappears at a local tournament. As they revisit their complicated history, they discover that their connection is as strong as ever, but they must navigate past betrayals and present challenges to find their second chance at love.
My Thoughts:
This was my first Yahrah St. John's book, and I was impressed! I really appreciated how "Break Point" functioned as a standalone. I didn't feel lost at all, which is always a plus in a series.
The second-chance romance was well-executed. The tension between Teagan and Dominic felt authentic, and their past hurts were understandable. I loved how Dominic respected Teagan's boundaries, even when it was difficult. His willingness to hold her accountable for her own feelings was also refreshing.
Teagan's struggles as a business owner during tough times added a relatable layer to her character. I admired her determination and willingness to step outside her comfort zone to keep her business afloat.
The audiobook performance, with one voice actor for both POVs, wasn't my personal preference, but the story itself definitely held my attention.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and Yahrah St. John for the ALC. All opinions are my own.

It's a cute little story for a long flight or for lounging at the pool. It had all the needed romance elements with the typical ending. The love scenes read like they were written by a man, and that threw me off a bit.

Second Chance. Enemies to Lovers. Tennis Romance. I am not a fan of miscommunication tropes and that was to be the main issue between the MCs, or rather a lack of communication and they both made assumptions that fueled their anger. Over all a good story with a HEA.

Teagan and Dominic are both complex characters with an even more complex relationship. As the saying goes, "there's always three sides to every story" and you see that with how they viewed their break-up very differently. At times they both annoyed me, but their growth deserves an applause! Both Teagan and Dom are loveable characters, and I found myself fussing at them to just get their sh*t together so they can be together! They both have to take accountability in the destruction of their previous relationship, and they have to learn how to move forward all while putting up family boundaries and figuring out the next steps in life. The story is lighthearted, but it keeps you on your toes with the drama and blushing with all the spice!

This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. Teagan was a complex character—selfish, self-absorbed, and unwilling to take responsibility for the events in her life. Her lingering jealousy, even years later, felt excessive and frustrating. Dominic, on the other hand, didn’t deserve the constant negativity Teagan threw his way every time they crossed paths.
One of the highlights of the story was the friendship with the Gems. Their unwavering support for Teagan was heartwarming, yet they never hesitated to call her out when she was in the wrong. They provided a perfect balance of tough love and genuine care, making them a standout part of the book.
By the end, I found myself understanding Teagan’s perspective more, and she became a much more likable character. Her growth felt authentic, and it was satisfying to see her and Dominic finally get it right. This journey of self-discovery, love, and redemption made for an engaging and rewarding read.
**Thanks NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for this ARC**

A cute second chance, rivals to lovers romance. I enjoyed the audio.
Thank you so much to NetGalley/Publisher for the audio ARC

Teagan and Dominic were each other’s first love. After Teagan’s tennis career comes to an end and a break up in the public eye, the two become enemies. When they find themselves back in each other’s lives because of a country club tennis tournament, they get a second chance at love.
I loved the friendship between The Gems and will be going back to read the other ladies stories. While this is the sixth book in the series, it reads as a standalone.
It was a little difficult at times to differentiate between the two characters when listening to the audiobook, but overall I enjoyed the book.
Thank you Harlequin Audio and NetGalley for the advanced listening copy!

Enemies to lovers with witty comebacks!? Sign me up! This is the sixth book in the series, and I did not previously read the first five. This did not hinder the story at all. There was some repetition in how Teegan felt, but she was really hurt and it was understandable.

This was a really good second romance book. I wish there would have been a man narrator for Dom. But it was good. The banter was really. Teagan had some great character growth by the end. Will recommend to friends

I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narration. It was a cute love story about a couple with a shared interest.
It sort of reminded me of love and basketball but minus the MMC being a player, and swap basketball for tennis.
The big focus in this is Dom and Teagan but my favorite part was the Gems sisterhood.

I absolutely love me a second chance romance and this one did not disappoint. It’s something about a couple reuniting after years of living separate lives. I also enjoyed how Dominic’s attention was 100% focused on Teagan and getting her back. There were times I didn’t know which character was talking due to the suttle lack of shifts in tone. I would have preferred either another narrator for Dominic or for the narrator to switch up the tone and inflection. Overall, I enjoyed this story and the fact that it can be read as a series or standalone.

What a pleasure Yahrah St. John's Break Point is! This is the sixth book in their Six Gems series - each of the six friends gets their own novel - and I read this as a standalone. I had no trouble enjoying it completely, though now I'm dying to go back and find out about each of the ladies in this friend group!
The tennis scenes are well written, and the atmosphere St. John creates around both the tennis community and the country club are just right.
Break Point is a really well done second chance, enemies to lovers, romance. Great family drama too with both Teagan and Dominic's families.
The audio version of Break Point is nicely performed by LaDonna Raeh.

Audiobook Review
3.5 ☆
Teagan Williams knows how to take a loss—especially a big one. After the spectacular collapse of her tennis career and her romantic relationship. But now Teagan’s been asked to compete in her country club’s tournament. And she’s considering it. Dominic Fletcher gave up everything for tennis. To be a star, to be the best, to bring in the Benjamins. After all, his entire family is depending on him. So why does he feel so discontent?
The Breaking Point is book 6 in the Six Gems series. Man, Teagan and Dominic were making me mad with the entire miscommunication/second-chance romance trope, and let me tell you why! Teagan played the victim the entire story, blaming Dominic for messing up her tennis career, and Dominic was hiding the reason he didn't talk to Teagan after her accident, but acted like he couldn't understand her point of view.
The second-chance romance was mostly Teagan thinking, "I dislike Dominic, but I'm still going to pursue him." Yeah, they were giving me a headache.
But overall, it was a decent, quick, and easy read. The audiobook was good, but I wish it was dual narration.
Thank you, Netgellay, and Harlequin Audio for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Teagan hasn’t seen her ex, pro tennis player Dominic, since an injury forced her to give up her own career ten years ago. When they reunite at a charity tournament, their chemistry rekindles both on and off the court.
Teagan and Dominic are both likeable characters with difficult parents. Their bad breakup left them both resentful, but they’re forced to come to terms with their own responsibility. I liked the audiobook narration.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

2.25 stars
I struggled with this one and I actually think these audiobook made it worse because at times I was enjoying it but I felt the narrator was giving nothing. Typically a second chance romance has a lot of yearning and complicated feelings but this felt different in that the only feelings were hate and lust. We didn’t get to hear anything about the good parts of their original relationship, only the lust and the breakup. They also broke up at like 19 but never gave themselves grace for being SO YOUNG! Nobody makes great decisions when they are teenagers and in front of the world. When they reunited, there was a constant “we need to talk about the past”…”Nevermind it doesn’t matter” over and over and over that it got exhausting. There felt like no actual romance, just hate and sex and refusing to talk.
Some other things that felt off. We barely hear more about Teagan turning her company around and then suddenly she’s winning an award? Dominic tells his mom she has to stop spending money frivolously yet she still has a personal chef. They barely mention his mom’s new boyfriend even though it felt like that was going to be important, same with Teagan’s mom finally standing up to her dad, I’d love to know more about it. Then…why the heck was Lyric wearing a full ballet outfit (leotard, slippers, and a tutu) in Teagan’s house while she’s having a huge conversation with her parents?? It felt like “all I know about ballet is the outfits” to me.
Regarding my issues with the audiobook, this is a dual POV romance yet the entire book is narrated by the one female narrator. And she gives no voices to the characters so I was constantly lost on who was talking. Male or female, the voice was exactly the same. And there was so little acting that every thing felt a bit emotionless and robotic. The spicy scenes especially felt cringey because there was no attempt at acting. I think I might have enjoyed the book more just reading it myself.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ALC.

*Thanks to Net Galley and Harlequin Audio for arc*
This steamy second chance romance has a lot of interesting things going for it. So things I enjoyed include the dual point of view that let you understand the struggles that each person is dealing with. The complicated past as well as complicated family our main character's have and Teagan's friend group, because it is always a good thing to see women supporting each other.
Now because I listened to the audiobook it is disappointing that we did not get a separate narrator for Dominic's perspective. The female narrator speaking from his voice sounded awkward and unappealing. Also Teagan's lack of communication with Dominic about his side of events was beyond frustrating. These two felt like they were going in circles around each other, with the only thing they agreed on was how sexy the other one was.
With that being said if you can get beyond these frustrations it is a decent romance.
