When justice feels out of reach, when the past won’t stay buried, and when danger lurks in the shadows, Search for Justice delivers a gripping journey that refuses to let go. Connie Queen has crafted something remarkable—it’s a story that pulses with heart, courage, and the unwavering pursuit of truth.

Brynne Taylor is an investigator with a past tangled in the very mystery she’s chasing. With her Saint Bernard, Fergie, by her side, she steps into a storm of secrets, putting herself in the crosshairs of a killer who’s determined to silence her. Enter Jace Jackson, a rancher with his own burdens to bear, who steps in at just the right time—but can either of them outrun the past long enough to uncover the truth?

The emotional depth is undeniable. The tension crackles. The characters feel real—wounded, determined, beautifully flawed. Faith isn’t just threaded through the story—it’s the compass guiding every step, the steady hand in the chaos, the light that refuses to be extinguished even in the darkest moments.. And Fergie? This dog is loyal companion - adding warmth and fierce devotion to an already stellar cast.

Cyndi Stark, the talented narrator, breathes life into this wonderfully written story. Stark’s ability to capture the urgency of the suspense, the raw emotion of each moment, and the unique personalities of the characters made this an unforgettable listening experience. Every scene felt immediate, vivid, and deeply immersive. Cyndi Stark’s narration hooked me so completely that seeking out more of her work is officially on my to-do list.

Suspenseful? Absolutely. Emotionally resonant? Without question. But more than that, this book is a testament to resilience, to second chances, and to the relentless pursuit of justice even when the odds seem impossible. Connie Queen, you have a new fan.

Wow! This is the 15h K-9 Search and Rescue book from Love Inspired Suspense and I hope they keep them coming. I’m always on board for good K-9 mystery and this one is fantastic. How could it not be with Fergie leading the way?! A St. Bernard who has a lot to prove along with human partner, Brynne, since they are the newest hires in this small Texas town. Especially since Brynne has history that seems to be all tangled up in the latest missing teen case.

I really enjoyed the way Queen strikes a balance between the romance and the suspense. The Second Chance trope plays out realistically. Past traumas – especially for Brynne – make things extra challenging. Loved the way the past is gradually merged into the present and there were so many ‘aha’ moments that made the suspense even more thrilling for me…and left me on tenterhooks regarding the happily ever after outcome. I knew it was coming…this is a Love Inspired novel, after all…but just how satisfactorily would it be wrapped up? Splendidly, I’d say!

I listened to the audio edition narrated by Cyndi Stark. Her performance complimented these characters and drew out the tension at just the right moments. An excellent listen that I’d recommend to audio ‘readers’ like me.

My thanks to Harlequin Audio and Net Galley for providing me with an audio edition of this book.

I received an ALC (Advanced Listener Copy) of this audiobook from NetGalley & Harlequin Audio.

Brynne Taylor and her Saint Bernard Fergie and rancher Jace Jackson aka old flame are in constant danger trying to find a girl that has gone missing. In the midst of the case, they are finding another case that could be linked to this one. And is Brynne part of it?

It was intense and a wonderful listen that I didn’t want to put down. I am not someone who is blessed with guessing the whodunit. And that still holds true for this book, I love not knowing and being surprised.

Despite the years that have passed, Brynne and Jace can't ignore the old spark between them. However, solving the cases at hand must come first before they can explore the possibility of rekindling their romance.

I very much enjoyed Cyndi Stark’s narration of this story she does a fantastic job emoting the emotions needed for this book.

A teen has gone missing. Brynne Taylor faces down her past as a foster child when she and her K-9 Fergie help in the search. Jace Jackson, a man she knew growing up, helps Brynne as danger threatens from all side.
I like the narrator. I enjoyed the storyline. The suspense was well done.
The romance side of this romantic suspense book was less appealing to me. Brynne was so conflicted the entire time that the romance just didn't flow well for me. Resolution comes at the end, but didn't feel very authentic.
I like both Brynne and Jace as characters.
If you enjoy the suspense side of romantic suspense, give this book a try.
Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin Audio for the opportunity to listen to this book.

She lived in a foster home here until that tragic night. Now another girl has disappeared and she's determined to solve both cases. Unfortunately it's put a target on her back and anyone close to her. The evidence leads to a twisted conclusion.

This is my first book by author Valerie Hansen. Overall it was a good-quick read as a cozy mystery type of book. The main female lead, Brynn, had a rough childhood and ran from her past. Fast forward, she is back to her hometown as a SAR (Search and Rescue) for the local police department when she is looking for a missing person.

This book takes you on a lot of twist & turns and one out of left field discovery. Overall a good read and worth the time!

This was a good read. This Christian romantic suspense had tinges of a second chance from teenage years. With a K9 search and rescue theme, Brynne and Jace stumble upon each other again as she is searching for a missing teen. Soon they connect this case to a cold case that’s over a decade old. Brynne is a deputy and Jace is a rancher, and a single dad to an adorable little boy who is afraid of dogs. Through the danger and suspense, our characters work to protect each other and unravel the web they’ve become tangled in. I was not able to solve this case. This was a just kisses romance.

Searching for Justice is the 15th book in the K-9 Search & Rescue series. This book was written by Connie Queen and narrated by Cyndi Stark. When Cyndi was narrating this story when she portrayed Jace Jackson the old flame, now rancher, it almost seemed robotic which was a little bit of a turn off. Brynne returns to help find a teen that went missing from her old foster home. Full of twists and turns, second chances, mystery and a cold case. I have enjoyed this series. Thank you to #NetGalley, #Harlequin Audio and the author for this arc audio. These opinions are my own.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the 13th book in the K-9 Search and Rescue series. I have read many of the other books in this series before picking up this book, but this book can be read as a standalone without any problems. I listened to the audiobook for this book, and I liked the narrator. I did take a little bit to get pulled into this book, but once I was into the story I really enjoyed it. There was a ton of action/suspense, and the story kept me guessing what was really going on. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
