This was a sweet book that definitely made me think of what I'd do if I were in Noelle's shoes. The time loop storyline was done SO well and I applaud the author for pulling it off. I loved this book!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Noelle is stuck in a rut, and by that I mean a time loop. She keeps repeating the same day over and over again. What is it going to take to get off this merry go round?
I thought I was reading a typical “groundhog day” time loop, fall in love story…until I wasn't. What a crazy turn it took, that really made this story unique, and a must read.

Thank you to NetGalley and AtriaBooks for this eARC in exchange for an honest review! It's my first one and I'm so glad that it was Time Loops & Meet Cutes.
Noelle Tom is stuck in a rut until she isn't-- She's stuck in a time loop, where she can discover who she is and what she wants out of life. With fellow time looper Avery, they have to break the loop by figuring out what they need most.
Here's what I liked:
- The characters felt so real. They were real people with real problems and I related so hard. I thought Noelle's character development was shown so well in her interactions with others and her own reactions to being stuck in a time loop without consequences.
- The attention to detail in food. I was SO hungry reading this book because everything just sounded so good.
Here's what I loved:
- The banter was bantering. Even when conversations were repeated, they felt fresh and fun. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.
- The story! Time loops can become very boring and trite but Lau did a fantastic job of showing growth and change in a setting where things were remaining the same. Noelle and Avery had very real moments of self doubt in the moments where they were choosing to become people they wanted to be.
- The love story <3 Noelle and Cam are adorable. Cam, from moment one, adores Noelle. Had me wondering when is it my turn the whole time.
Here's what I didn't like:
- The writing. It was good writing, but it felt very polished in a way that I think I am just not used to. The way the characters spoke was a touch above casual and sometimes it would pull me out of what I was reading.
Overall, I LOVED this book. It was an adorable page turner that I couldn't put down. I was kicking my feet and giggling, rooting for all the characters, and holding my breath that maybe this time they would get out of the loop. If you read one book this year, it should be this one!

I enjoyed Time Loops and Meet Cutes so much! I wasn't a little nervous about the repetition of the time loop storyline, but this one was done very well. I enjoyed the different point of views and the aspects of friendships. Very fun read!

Ya'll know I love a good time travel/loop story and this one had some unique features. Noelle is pretty stagnant, no partner, no friends, and a job that doesn't appreciate her. On her way home from work she eats dumplings which magically thrust her into a time look where she's doomed to repeat June 20th again and again.
What I enjoyed about this book is that you spend a lot of time thinking about what you'd do. She has ups and downs, and definitely has some mental battles with herself. The romance is cute and sweet, and her learning to live again, have friends again, is additionally sweet and it makes the readers examine our own lives. I think that people who like deeper romance novels like Emily Henry, may really enjoy this one.

Amazing! fantastic! I was a bit nervous that the story would be very repetitive as it is a time loop story but I was pleasantly surprised. It was great to see Noelle change and develop as a character. The story wrapped up so nicely and it was great to see everything loop back around. I will say I would’ve liked to read about cams dad and what happened ti him but overall the story was well written and executed perfectly.

Time Loops & Meet Cutes was a charming love story that kept me wandering what would happen until the very end. I enjoyed going through the various versions of the main character's life on June 20th to figure out how and when she would continue to meet Cam. The author had quite the task of making each day feel fresh to the reader. At times, Lau achieved this, but at other times, I felt as though the writing was lacking. In particular, I didn't make a strong connection with the other "time looper" while the main character stated she had never had as a close of a friendship as that one. The relationships felt a bit flat to me through the book, and I struggled to continue to read the book - like the main character, I never knew when June 20th was going to end. Once they were out of the time loop, I felt more compelled to finish the story. The ending of the book was extremely redeeming, and would recommend it just for that. Overall, a solid 3-star read for me, mostly because of the premise and the ending.

This was a cute storyline. Kind of different from the usual tropes I’ve read. It was a bit redundant but once it got going it was a good story.

this was a great take of the time loop trope! i honestly might be a fan of time loops now? i loved that the friendship was a big part of this and i liked that we got to see cam's pov occasionally throughout the book- it definitely made me intrigued! the first part was a little repetitive, but i understand that's literally the point. overall, this was a cute story and a reminder to take risks and appreciate the little things in life.

In some ways this was classic Jackie Lau (her writing style, character growth, Toronto setting) but still with a new twist (magical realism, time loop trope with a heavy focus on family and work in addition to love life).
Overall this was a fun, lighthearted read.a 3.5 rounded up.
I did think the first half of the book dragged on a bit. The story was somewhat predictable (obviously give it was a time loop trope) so I found myself wanting to skip ahead through the time loop to get to Noelle actually living her real life again.
Now I’m off to get some dumplings since this story left me wanting them from page 3!
Thank you to Jackie Lau, Atria/Emily Bestler Books, and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Noell is trapped in a time loop after eating magic dumplings. the story is about her trying to break the time loop. cute story.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the ARC of Time Loops Meet Cutes.
Noelle finds herself trapped in a time loop of June 20th after eating magical dumplings. She was promised the dumplings would help her seek or obtain what she most needed. This book followed Noelle‘s attempt to break out of the time loop. This was such a clever take on Groundhog’s Day, and I found myself rooting for Noelle to find all that she’s wanted or deserves.

This was a very cute Freaky Friday x Groundhog Day retelling of time loops and how to venture out of your comfort zone.
I loved the friendship that Noelle & Avery built. I also love that Noelle didn't just focus on her love life but mended her relationship with her sister, made more of an effort with her college friend, and worked on her professional life.
Cam is a dreamy guy. Easygoing and trusting. It's refreshing to read a guy like that without *too* much baggage.
This was the perfect light read, and I'm excited to read more by the author.
P.S: Be warned, you WILL be hungry and have a million cravings reading this book. The food depictions are fantastic 👌.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.

I love a good take on alternate realities and time travel and as indicated by the title, Time Loops & Meet Cutes focused on exactly that along with a romance and self growth. Unique to other books I’ve read that incorporate this concept, Noelle, who is stuck in the time loop, meets someone else who is also stuck in the loop, and I enjoyed seeing her friendship grow as much as her romance.
Noelle get stuck repeating the same day in the summer after heading home (late, again) from work and stopping at a night market for some dumplings. She has no clue how to get time back on track but is willing to try almost everything, from traveling to a different time zone to getting a kiss a la sleeping beauty. This was fun, with some heavier moments that were understandable to come from repeating the same day for basically 7 months, and there were some really unique elements from the previously mentioned other person stuck in the time loop, check ins with love interest Cam as he seemed to be continuing his own life in little snatches offered to the reader in alternate while Noelle’s was on pause, and of course the idea of a dumpling doing all of that. That said, the time loop went on far too long and some of the story could have benefitted from some ‘prior to’ understanding Noelle’s background and some skipping over (repeat) days, because after a while I too felt I was stuck in a loop and was getting close to ejecting by skipping chapters.
I love a unique take on an idea I love reading about, and this was a cute take. With some fast tracking of ‘the middle’ this could be a standout for those who also enjoy this sci fi/fantasy twist to their romances.

Pretty cute! This felt like a fresh take on the time loop trope and was really sweet. I loved all the attention on the food Noelle and others ate! And that our protagonist Noelle was stuck in the loop with another woman, Avery, who becomes her best friend.
I did think Cam's inner monologues were a bit cheesy and the way he phrased his greetings to Noelle were odd but I still thought he was a nice match for Noelle.
Recommended for anyone looking for a charming romance with a magical plot.
Thank you to Atria and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a copy.

Thank you Atria Books and Netgalley for this eARC, these opinions are my own. Noelle keeps herself busy with work and she’s refuses to enter relationships because of her past heartbreak. One night she gets some dumplings for dinner, these happen to be the best dumplings she’s ever had. The next morning she’s in for a shock when the world believes it to be June 20th, the day she just lived through. Turns out she’s in a time loop and keeps reliving the same day over and over again. But now she has a chance to live her life so the things she never has time for. She also keeps meets Cam a man she keeps running into each day. She finds herself being drawn to him the only problem is that each day she has to reintroduce herself to him. She also meets Avery who’s trapped in the time loop with her. At least they have each other and can help each other experience new things and figure out how to get out of the time loop. Can they do it? Will can heal her heart? A fast read that kept me hooked! Fun and cute that reminds us all not to take things too seriously and do things for ourselves!

I read this courtesy NetGalley. In this charming, quirky story, Jackie Lau’s latest, we have a time conundrum along the lines of Groundhog Day—with a twist, and what a twist it is! With that distinctive Jackie Lau style of introducing family and friends of all kinds, we have Noelle eating what she believes are magic dumplings that have her reliving one day over and over. Is it because she has to learn something? Reconnect with her sister? Learn to live a little? It doesn’t help that the little old lady she bought the dumplings from is nowhere to be seen when she goes back to see her. Then she meets a man, and she thinks he may be the key to get her out of the loop, and she gets to know him, over and over again. Until… Heartwarming, and magical in itself, Time Loops & Meet Cutes is a wonderful read.

Loved Time Loops & Meet Cutes, the characters and definitely the little plot twist.
I'm a fan of Groundhog Day and this was reminiscent of that but with its own depth and breadth in the rom-com aspects.
Would 100% want to see Avery get her own story!
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the eARC.

THIS BOOK.
#1 I’ve never craved dumplings more in my life.
#2 I was so obsessed that I read it in less than 24 hours. IT WAS THAT GOOD.
#3 Noelle is so relatable, her journey was amazing, her friendship with Avery gives me all the warm feelings and CAM?! Unreal.
This is for people who read Things Not Seen as teens and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue as adults. I can’t express how much I genuinely loved and enjoyed this book, it gave me so much life. Highly, highly recommend for a good romance read.

Noelle Tom really shouldn’t have eaten those dumplings at the night market. But the old woman at the stall said they’d give her what she needed most, and what Noelle desperately needed after another long workweek was food.
This is a really cute book. I would recommend it.
