I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

This books builds an interring premise. A reluctant romance set in a world of dragons, political challenges, and threats of war. I wish the story was longer since there is so much going on. With it being shorter the romance didn't have the enemies to lovers long enough to build that tension of enemies. They ended up being lovers faster and needed that slight hill.

The premise of this story was great, and I wasn't expecting much so I thought I wouldn't be disappointed. But I couldn't connect to the plot/characters. I really tried, but maybe it just wasn't for me. I didn't read the first edition, so I don't know what changed but to me, it still needs some work. While I don't usually care if it's a 3rd POV or not, maybe it would have been better to have different POV there.

Unfortunately this book read like a first draft. The overall story was good but there was a lot of telling and not showing.
I don’t normally mind when the story is written in third person, however in this case I think it would’ve been better has it been written in first person.
This isn’t a story that I would read again however I am thankful for the opportunity to read it. Thank you to both the publishers and NetGalley for giving me the arc.

I made it about 10% into the book and had to stop for my own sake. I was not connecting, and when our MMC started having conversations with his dragon form but really it was himself, I was immediately out of it. This book may work for some folks, but sadly I am not one of them!

This book would have benefited from spending more time on world building, building the tension between the main leads, and providing good dialogue, instead it was condensed and lacking.
