I loved this!
The poems were light, humorous, and so much fun! Though there are many that are more uplifting, my favorite out of the collection was probably The Weeds We Inherit. I would have loved to see some illustrations to go with such beautiful words.

It was the title and bright cover that attracted me to this book. Absolutely lovely.

This is a book of rhymes, mostly rhyming couplets, about the beauty of gardens and gardening. There are little poems dedicated to the weather of course, and flowers such as daffodils, iris, magnolias, lily of the valley and apple blossom, plus several addressing the dandelion. The beauty and challenges of animals including rabbits, birds, squirrels and snakes have their own verses but there is the sense that all animals are loved as aspects of nature, no matter how much potential damage they do. Then there are the chores and practicalities of gardening like weeding, mowing the lawn and poems such as Bushes Blocking Windows, The Tree Next Door and Verdant Moss indicating the downside of tending the garden. Oh, and the never ending issue of falling leaves in autumn.

The verses are all charming and show an affection for nature and are pleasant to read. They are simple and straightforward, light and witty with some wordplay, Garden Instructions and Kicking Grass are examples of this. There is an observance of the seasons and the light from the sun and moon as it paints the sky and the garden. Goose Summer Gone is a lovely descriptive poem. But it is The Gift, possibly the best poem in the book, that really captures the spirit of this collection as it demonstrates the essence of nature within the universe and how we truly should appreciate it.

A book full of affection, fun, beauty and hope. Everyone should read this, even if it's just a bit from time to time. Perfect for children.

This is a brilliant addition to your poetry collection. It's filled with light hearted, fun poems perfect for gardeners or, like me, reading aloud to your children for nature studies.
I was a bit disappointed that there were no illustrations throughout the book but honestly I found the poems made up for that.

This poetry book has 150 poems in all.

Letter to a Dandelion is filled with light-hearted rhyming poems that were written to take you on an imaginary walk through the yard during different times of the year so that you experience all four seasons.

I love the imagery in these poems—how you can clearly see the details in your mind, and the way the verses rhyme. It's my favorite type of poetry.

All the summertime poems make me really miss the summer since it's winter here right now! Some of these poems are really lovely, and it makes me want to start my
own little garden!

My favorite poems in this collection were these three because it was a humorous back-and-forth interaction via letters between the dandelion and the gardener. I got a good chuckle out of these!

🌼 Letter To A Dandelion
🌼The Dandelion's Reply
🌼To: The Weed Department of Inspection

There were a fair few that I enjoyed so these are other honorable mentions:

🌄 Sunrise
☀️ Morning
✨️ Morning Glory Story
🌲 The Tree Next Door
✨️ Adorning Morning
🍂 How Autumn Leaves
❄️ Winter Morning

I would recommend this poetry book for those looking for something short and filled with summer vibes and gardener's troubles for you to relate to!

The only thing that would make this better is if there were illustrations to go along with the poems. They are easy to read, and I see it being nice to read to children.

A fun collection of light and playful garden/nature poems. Lots of whimsy. The overall tone reminds me of spring, when everything is fresh and vibrant.

A celebration of wonder.

It is a delightful collection of poems about nature . The poems are written with relatively simple words, making them accessible to younger children. It would be even better if there were some illustrations in the book.
