Wow! I've been feeling burned out on love stories lately, but this one restored my love for love stories. I consumed NSFW and loved every minute of it. I'll definitely buy a copy when available ♥️

Oh this was so good -I didn't expect Tuli to write a contemporary romance that kept me hooked! I loved Rafe and Trishara's banter and hate to eventual lovers pipeline we went through. The chemistry was fantastic and the romance was sizzling hot while also being realistic in a work setting. No cringe moments here and I lived for it.

This book was SO FUN. Exactly what I needed. Yes, it is trope heavy. Yes, he is perfect. Yes, she is a baddie. And I absolutely recommend this one to all my fellow STEM girlies <3

If you like...
- rivals to lovers
- one bed
- forced proximity
- yearning
- forearms
...then you will LOVE this one!

This was my first book by this author and I have a love/hate relationship with it. I enjoyed the storyline but some parts felt conflicting. First, being forced to share a hotel room (for 3 weeks!) with a work colleague is not realistic. HR would (and should) never allow that to occur under any circumstance. But okay, for the sake of the plot….. Second, the FMC loathed her male colleagues for behavior to she actively accepted from the MMC, because she had a thing for him I suppose?

Other than those two factors, I really did enjoy this book. The writing and dialogue was great.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for the digital ARC. All opinions are my own.

I loved Tuli’s fantasy series, Tale of the Sun Queen, and got excited to see that she was branching out with a contemporary romance! It was so fun to come along for the journey with Tris and Rafe as they embarked on an enemies-to-lovers work trip! I loved how the story was real and spoke to regular life for somen in male dominated fields but yet was light and fun when it needed to be. Definitely a fun and exciting beach read that is perfect for this summer!

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

The perfect beach read!

If you enjoy a workplace romance, are a fan of Ali Hazelwood, or simply love a supportive male lead, you will LOVE Nisha’s intro into contemporary romance/romcom! She’s been dominating it the Romantasy scene and I’ve loved all of her work and this was no exception!

I love a strong woman in a male-dominated career field, I love competition, and I love a hot, artsy man! Ugh! I will be thinking about Rafe for the foreseeable future. He’s everything! But honestly, so is Trishara!! She’s a boss! Her self advocacy and refusal to be a door mat! She’s an inspiration!

While this was a relatively quick read for me, I enjoyed every single second of it!

Thank you to Forever & NetGalley for an eARC! I hope everyone loves Not Safe For Work as much as I did!

I loved Rafe and Tris’ story. The slow burn, enemies to lovers was done so well. There was just the right amount of tension between them that when they finally got together, it made it so satisfying! I always love Women in STEM, and loved how strong Tris was, while also still showing a vulnerable side. The obstacles she faced in the workplace are real and I appreciate how Tuli sheds light on the inequality, especially in that field. This was the perfect amount of spice, and left me with all the happy feels!

These two are workplace enemies, but the banter in this one is everything. I really enjoyed it and the characters were funny. Thank you to Netgalley for the arc.

I am such a fan of Nisha’s romantasy series “The Artefacts of Ouranos” and I was so excited when I got the email that I was sent an eARC for her first ever contemporary romance. And let me tell you, she did not disappoint!

This is a workplace romance where rivals become lovers (basically the equivalent to enemies to lovers 🤭). We have Trishara, our badass fmc in STEM, and Rafe, our mmc that has more to him than meets the eye, and they both get picked to go on a work retreat to Hawaii. Things take an unexpected turn when a mix up with the reservation has them sharing a hotel room with one bed.

This had everything you would want from a romcom! The story touched upon heavy topics such as racism and the struggles women in STEM positions built for men go through. I loved that the author also included things that actually happened to her in the workplace in the story, it made it feel even more authentic.

Thank you to Nisha J. Tuli and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for this eARC

This book was absolutely PERFECT. I haven’t read anything by Nisha J. Tuli before and I know this her first contemporary romance!! It was SO GOOD! I love rivals to lovers SO MUCH. The tension?? The banter?? How SURE Tris was that she did NOT like Rafe!!! And all of the things about how hard women work and are so under appreciated in male dominated work places. I really loved seeing how Rafe WAS on her side, and looking out for her! And I loved that she was also sticking up for herself! Watching out for herself!! Trying to keep people accountable! I loved it all so much!

And listen! Rafe and Tris WERE SO HOT! The slow burn was absolutely DELICIOUS! The shared room?? The one bed?? The fact that they didn’t really get along?! But now with the forced proximity, they got to see another side of each other!! She got to see him SMILING AT HER FOR REAL! They just needed a little push to finally fave each other!! I think he even said it though, they needed the time to get to where they were, that this was the right time for them!!

I also really loved the ending!! It was SO CUTE!!! And I loved seeing both Rafe and Tris get to do the things they ACTUALLY loved!

I have to be in the mood for a romantasy, but Nisha is FOR SURE going on my list to read one day!

Thank you so much Forever for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!!

I have heard great things about Nisha's romantasy series and when I seen she was writing a contemporary romance I was excited to read it! This is my first book from her and even though I didn't really care for this specific book, I still want to read her other work.

Okay, where do I begin?
I really enjoyed the tropical setting of NSFW, and two of the side characters -- Lan and Gabrielle. The cover also caught my eye and is GOREGOUS, chefs kiss for Tris in that dress.

In the beginning I thought I liked Trishara and Rafe's dynamic because they're coworkers who can't stand each other and end up falling for each other -- sign me up! I can handle some miscommunication but I feel like it was literally the whole book. They can't stand each other because they both assumed one didn't like the other which is so trivial when you think about it. Tris can't make up her mind on if she wants to give Rafe a chance, and then goes out on a date with some douche named Andy. Rafe can't stand that she's giving this guy the time of day and goes all caveman on him every time Tris and Andy are together. Don't even get me started on the fact that Rafe's ex girlfriend Hannah keeps calling him the whole time they're on this work trip, and instead of him putting her in her place he proceeds to lead Tris and Hannah on at the same time basically. We literally get no explanation of WHY HE KEEPS ANSWERING HER CALLS, and then HR just helps Hannah get a flight to surprise him???? Tris gives him an ultimatum, three days goes by, and then he just shows up at her house and everything is fine and dandy? Rafe kept giving me whiplash, and maybe it would've been better if he had his own POV so we could understand what was going on in his head.

I understand that there are bipoc women in STEM and even in other male dominated workplaces that experience the type of misogyny and workplace harassment that Trishara has to deal with in this book, BUT I feel like it took over the romance plot. Towards the end of the book I was straight up not having a great time and I was so frustrated. I feel like this book had a lot of potential and then it just kinda fell flat. The pacing for NSFW was all over the place, we didn't really get answers for why the MC's acted the way that they did, and it's like we didn't get backstories for any of them. I know it's fiction but it didn't feel realistic. I have more thoughts and maybe I'll update this review with them after I take some time to decompress.

Anyways, while this book wasn't for me, it might be for you!
These are some of the tropes in NSFW:
- enemies to lovers
- one bed
- workplace romance
- slow burn

I’ve been chasing the high of finding a god-tier workplace romance since The Hating Game- and this. Is. IT.

Rafe and Trishara are everything you want in a steamy workplace rivals-to-lovers romance. She’s the embodiment of a badass, woman of color FMC. As the son of the company VP, he has to learn what it means to choose himself over a “predestined” career reeking of nepotism, questionable leadership, and inevitable disappointment.

And together, their chemistry is explosive!! This is what I crave in a slow burn romance- steady pacing with scrumptious tension and an undeniable connection. Their relationship is filled with insane yearning, tender moments, and smoldering spice.

As a twenty-something in a sexist, male dominated field myself, I found so much solace in Tris. Her bravery, her resilience and her determination to be an advocate for women in the workplace had me rooting so hard for her. Unfortunately her experiences are not isolated, so this book felt like a love letter to every woman who’s experienced similar struggles and frustrations to keep going, and keep advocating for ourselves- and the next generation.

Thank you to NetGalley, Forever & Nisha J. Tuli for this arc!! By far one of the best surprise reads of the year!!

I’ve been really enjoying Tuli’s romantasy series, and was so excited to see she wrote a contemporary romance!! This one did not disappoint- it has her usual wit and sass, great descriptions of food (I always get hungry reading her books), WOC rep, and I really enjoyed her portrayal of a professional WOC having to deal with a-holes at work. What an amazing book!

I had such a good feeling about this book because I loooooove Nisha J. Tuli so I’m not surprised that I love it and it really was everything I could’ve wanted in a contemporary romance 😍👏🏻 Nisha has expanded her genre from romantasy and I’m here for itttt! also, just look at that cover!

Nisha did an incredible job at addressing a lot of the issues that women in STEM face in a male-dominated field, in addition to the FMC being a woman of color! I thoroughly enjoyed this read as it was a cute, fast read but also a great slow burn!

🌺 workplace romance
🌴 enemies to lovers
🌺 slow burn
🌴 one (hotel) room
🌺 banter

The cover of this book is beautiful so I had to pick it up. This book was a great mix of Christina Lauren’s “The paradise Problem” and Ali Hazelwood’s “The Love Hypothesis”. Engineer Trishara Malik ( a women in STEM) gets passed up for a promotion that goes to Rafe Gallagher (the bosses son). Trishara then gets asked to go on a work retreat in Hawaii. And she jumps at it. Unfortunately, Rafe is also asked to go. Trishara is going to go but plans to avoid Rafe the whole time. Until a booking problems but them in not only the same room but that room is the honeymoon suite. Like how many women have been passed over for a promotion and it be given to a mediocre white man? The FMC had the same doubts and feelings we all have about our worth in the workplace. On top of that we got a witty enemies to lovers romance.

Corporate rivalries in Hawaii?!

Trishara has worked twice as hard for half the recognition, only to watch her biggest career opportunity go to Rafe, the boss’s son and her longtime rival. When they are sent to a leadership retreat in Maui, Tris starts to see Rafe in a new light!

I just LOVED their banter! It brought that true workplace enemies to lovers vibe.

The author did an amazing job highlighting the struggles women face at work.

The ending was adorable and left me grinning!! I always love forced proximity, but the Hawaii setting made it even better.

This book had the perfect balance of tension, humor, and heart.

Thank you NetGalley and Forever Publishing for the gifted ARC.

OMG, I loved this book! I recently read Nisha J. Tuli’s romantasy series and really enjoyed it, so when I saw she had a contemporary romance coming out, I was immediately intrigued. Then I saw the title—hooked. Then I saw the cover—fully obsessed. At that point, there was no turning back.

And let me tell you, the yearning and tension in this book? Off. The. Charts. It was dripping from the pages. I could not put it down (literally—I read until 5 a.m.). Tris and Rafe’s chemistry was absolute fire, and I adored them both. Also, a special shoutout to the moment Tris is reading Rule of the Aurora King at the airport—easily one of my favorite little details!

But beyond the swoon-worthy romance, Not Safe for Work also tackles the struggles of being a BIPOC woman in engineering. Tuli mentions in the author’s note that some of the microaggressions Tris faces might seem exaggerated, but they still happen. And as someone who’s been in engineering spaces for 10 years, I can confirm—I’ve seen these behaviors firsthand.

What a fun and quick read! Contemporary romance is not always my thing, and it took me a sec to get into this one, but when I got hooked I could not put it down. I loved the development of both characters and their relationship with each other. The issues the FMC faced in the workplace as well as all the self doubt should I/shouldn't I feelings felt relatable to those of us that have been the diversity in a sea of uniformity. Would have loved to see a MMC POV, but otherwise this hit a perfect sweet spot of real but also fuel for me to dissociate. Also, full disclosure, I did read this at work.

Nisha nailed it with her debut romcom Not Safe for Work! As one of my favorite romantasy authors I was so excited to read this and it exceeded my expectations!
Her novel is everything you could want from a workplace romance and then some with the perfect amount of comedy, social/familial issues to give you a full rounded story. The banter is excellent between the MMC and FMC giving you that true workplace enemies to lovers vibe. I really enjoyed the way she writes about the problems that not only women but especially women of color face in a professional work setting.
5 out of 5 stars for me and I am looking forward to her future contemporary romance novels!

Omggggggggggg. I cannot say enough good things about this book. While I knew Nisha was an amazing fantasy writer, nothing prepared me for how good she'd be at romance. The author's note at the beginning was so perfectly written and as a woman in a corporate setting, I wasn't even a little shocked by what she conveyed. This is a solid enemies to lovers where the disdain the characters have for each other is rooted in tension and past experiences versus their own personalities. Honestly, the ending was probably the cutest thing I've read all year and I'm so happy I got this ARC from NetGalley.
