I still love this series, and this book was no exception. I loved the narratorsa and from the first chapter, I was shocked and instantly pulled into the drama and craziness. Seeing all the characters return was great. Sam and Mason will always be my number ones but I wished they showed more growth as parents. They had so much happen to them that I wanted them to channel a better example for their kids and especially Maddie. I'm excited to see what the next generation books will be like.

Let me just start by saying how much I ADORE this series! I am obsessed with the Fallen Crest universe and there is not a book that has been released that have Mason or Sam that I haven't loved. This glimpse into the second generation of the couple that I fell in love with was amazing! Seeing Mason as a dad...can we just collectively swoon?! This book had all the family drama, twists and spice that I grew to love throughout the series. Add in the crossovers from some other beloved series from Tijan, I just can't handle it! Loved it and absolutely recommend.

I was really interested in the book because I wanted to read Tijan. So excited, but then so lost… I didn’t realize this was the end of a series that was not a series of interconnected standalones. Most series I read that deal with different family members piggyback off of the story but don’t require you to know the past events of other couples. That is NOT the case with this book. The first 2 hours was just trying to keep up with who was who and all of the hints of backstory. So clearly not a book meant to just pickup or listen to going in cold.

That being said what I can review was the story itself being gripping even if you don’t know the backstory (but would have been much better if I had). The writing was good and intense and hot. The style was everything I want in an angsty spicy read with plot.

The narrators did a great job. No annoying icks or distracting habits. They represented the characters well and kept the story flowing perfectly.

I loved visiting with the Fallen Crest characters and this book did a good job bringing the series full circle to set up the next-gen but did not recapture the original magic. It did introduce some interesting new characters, Max and Nolan especially. There were funny scenes. The drunken ladies scene was hysterical and had they been in college setting, I would rave about it. There were some nice moments; but also, so many little details I could nitpick about. Will I read the next book with Maddie and the boys? Yes, I won't be able to resist. And I will keep hoping for the resurrection of Tijan of old.

I have loved Fallen Crest from the first book to the last. This book was so good. The narrators really had you feeling it as well. I absolutely loved Maddie and her thoughts. Listening to her being so honest with herself and self-aware was such a refreshing viewpoint. Seeing Mason falling back to the old ways and still trying to be who he has to be for family was refreshing. Seeing him trying to be grown up handling things and still getting things done was epic to me.

This emotional and thrilling ride follows Mason, Logan, and Samantha as they grow from their turbulent youth into devoted parents. The family’s unshakable bond and unwavering loyalty are at the heart of the story as they confront new challenges in their small-town haven. Maddy, Mason, and Sam’s fierce and dynamic daughter add fresh excitement, embodying their parents’ strength and dedication. Tijan’s masterful writing ties up loose ends while setting the stage for future stories, making this book a bittersweet yet satisfying finale. Full of suspense, love, and redemption, this is a must-read for fans of this incredible series. Highly recommended!

It's always sad when a series comes to an end, but I believe that Kade was the perfect ending to the Fallen Crest Series.

This installment focuses on Logan, Mason and Samantha and their daughter Maddy. This series should be read in order to have a full understanding of the all characters.

I was hooked from the start. You never knew what twists and turns were coming. Being back in Fallen Crest was an emotional rollercoaster and although the series is over (pending the spin off series) it was such an awesome ride.

It’s bittersweet when a series comes to an end. This story features so many characters from both this series and its spin-offs that I was drowning in goodness! I started reading the FALLEN CREST series when it was first released in 2012, so I’ve been following these characters for over twelve years now! Twelve years! That’s nuts! When I first met Sam and Mason, they were in high school; now, their kids are in high school.

This story has suspense, action, secrets and lies, family drama, crossover characters, and, of course, love—parental love, sibling love, found-family love, and, yes, spicy, romantic love.

I absolutely loved being back with all these characters. Tijan did an amazing job of weaving everyone into this series finale and rounding everything off.

I loved getting some of Sam and Mason’s daughter’s POV, and Ruby Allen was a new voice to me; she smashed it! CJ is a firm favourite of mine, and she was excellent as Sam. Tor rounds out this trio, breathing life into Mason.

This series is best read in order, but it is so worth it!

Kade is the final book, book 8, in the long-running Fallen Crest series, and you definitely need to have read the other books in the series for this one to make a lick of sense, especially the beginning, because there is no gentle exposition. The drama starts right off the bat.

Was this my favorite in the series? No. But was it nice to have loose ends tied up and some questions answered? Yes. The narrators--CJ Bloom, Tom Thor, and Ruby Allan--did a great job of separating out all the characters (because there are a LOT of characters), and the twists and turns kept me invested. Seeing our favorite characters all grown up and getting to meet the second generation was *chefs kiss.*

Tijan writes dark romances, so be prepared for possibly triggering content--but she writes it really well. I can't wait to read what she publishes next.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media for my ALC.

Don’t be like me… you can’t read this book without reading the others. I mean you can, but you’ll be absolutely confused.

Dreamscape Media & NetGalley kindly sent me the audiobook for Kade.

Listening to the audiobook, I found myself extremely frustrated. There were SO many errors. Wrong names were said, words weren’t pronounced right… it was just a mess. Didn’t exactly love the narrators for this story either.

There were so many POVS and though I understand Tijan was trying to wrap up the series, it made it hard to follow what was going on – setting aside the fact that I didn’t know the original plot from the series. This book truly felt sloppy and rushed.

I’m mildly interested in the next generation because the one daughter Maddy sounded like she was an unhinged, wild character that I wanted to know more about.

And what was up with the youngest kid being a psychic? What a weird thing to add to the book when it isn’t sci-fi/fantasy/whatever you want to call it.

Ultimately, this book wasn’t for me and it wasn’t even because I hadn’t read the other books. I’m disappointed, but I suppose I’m not going to love every book that I read and that’s ok!

I love Tijan's work; she is amazing. This book had some twists. I can’t wait to read another book in the Fallen Crest Series. The narrators did a good job.

I struggled to get through this audiobook. I was not invested in the story or characters until about 70%. This was not for me.

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

My review will be skewed because I haven't read any of the Fallen Crest books so I was so lost. I had no context for who any of the characters were other than knowing the general gist and vibe of the Fallen Crest series (because it has been on my TBR for forever). Definitely can't be a standalone. However, this might work in my favor as I got the sense that this was very different from the rest of the series and takes place years after the others.

As for the book - and this might be because it was on audio - felt scattered. Several different perspectives, which caught me off guard because we get a lot of Mason's POV then we get the daughter's and the wife's, I had a hard time keeping track. I think just the father and daughter would have sufficed since it is their POVs I cared about the most and whose roles had the most impact on the plot. That might deviate from the series I expect but it would have been cool to get a father-daughter POV because their dynamic was interesting to hear about. Maddy is the next generation and a chip off the old block.

I didn't feel the tension in the book. The conflict wasn't strong to me.

Regardless, I generally do like Tijan's work.

I thoroughly enjoyed this return to Fallen Crest and the audio actors (Tor Thom, C.J. Bloom, Ruby Allan) did a great job bringing the characters and story to life. You definitely need to have read the previous books in the series to understand all the dynamics at play here though. Do not try and pick it up without having read the previous books! I haven't read all of Tijan's books so there are some crossover aspects that were new to me here but I absolutely enjoyed the links to Brett Broudou and the guys in Frisco.

The story itself was also gripping. I was shocked at times and laughing at others. The description of Dinosaur Sam had me in stitches... Plus Harold the tortoise! This was a very welcome return to the world and update on some favourite characters. The Kade family will always be a firm favourite and the opportunity to return to Sam and Mason as parents is not to be missed.

Dare I even hope that we get a spinoff series?!
I loved getting to revisit this world and these characters as parents. Fallen Crest is the book form of a CW show from my teen years. The nostalgia it brings me is a comfort.
Even though this had new events, for me it felt like a full length epilogue and I enjoyed every chapter.
Seeing Logan and Mason back in their element and taking over things while also splitting time as parents was fun to see.
I loved getting Maddy's POVs thrown in as well. I think Tijan has left herself with a strong opening for a spinoff if desired and if that happens I will gladly watch the chaos that Maddy causes and Max cleans up.
*edit just read the last bit in my paperback and Tijan did say we're getting 2nd gen series "Cain University series".

Kade is the last in the long-running Fallen Crest Series. The Kade brothers and their friends are finally returning home, but Fallen Crest is just as intense and drama-filled. Not only does the story focus on Mason, Logan, Samantha, and their friends, but the next generation as well.

I’ve loved every single book in this world, and I was delighted to see everything come together in the final book. Seeing many of my favorite characters as parents was everything I could have asked for and more! The second generation was just as intriguing as their parents. Catching up with past characters was so heartwarming, even if it was from more recent books like Frisco .

The audio was magnificent! I’ve listened to a majority of this series and Tijan’s other books, so I am already familiar with C.J. Bloom. Listening is honestly the best way to experience this series. The narrators perfectly capture everyone’s POV, especially Mason’s, whose POV seems to be the predominant figure. All three did an amazing job, and made the experience ten times better than if I just read the book.

It’s sad that the series is ending, but what an amazing way to conclude it. I hope the second generation gets their own series, especially Maddy and Max. I need to see their love story because it reminds me so much of the connection Sam and Mason had in the beginning.

A special thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Seeing this group all grown up and as parents had me all in my feels! They may be mature adults with families now but they are just as protective as ever and will do anything for their families!

We get a look at the next generation and I can only hope we get their stories because I know it’s going to be sooo good.
