Thank you NetGalley and publisher. I'm not usually into revenge stories, but this one is pretty interesting. I think the main character is strong and stands up for herself, but can act a little immature at times. I'm very interested in seeing her become more independent and navigate the harem relationships. 3.5/5

This has promise, but as far as first volumes go, it didn't immediately peak my interest. If I see the second volume, I will grab it. BUT I will not be actively seeking it out. The plot took too long and the art wasn't as great as I'd like it to have been- it was very dark in my opinion. Not the worst thing, but not my favorite either.

Published by Yen Press and available December 10, 2024, Men of the Harem Vol. 1 is already out but is still up on NetGalley and I requested it not noticing the release date. Oh well. Men of the Harem is another webtoon but I was more interested in this than Viral Hit. It follows a female emperor as she solidifies her power and plans to break with tradition and gender norms and gather a male harem for herself. I enjoy polyamory and gender subversion in fiction so I was interested. The art is very nice and I think the premise will be fun to see play out in future volumes. It takes place in a fantasy world, so silly names are all over the place. Despite her weird name, I do like the main character, Latrasil, and I can't wait to see her with her harem of pretty boys.

I'm definitely seeking out the webtoon released version of it, since i really want to know what happens next. The setting is amazing, I love how our MC is not a shit eating emperor and takes a stand for herself. Now I want to know who'll become the royal consort hehe.

I got this as an arc on Netgalley and it has since come out. This comic was absolutely delightful. It wasn't sexy yet but it was funny, interesting, very intriguing and reads easily. Get into this definitely.

Princess Latrasil of Tarium had waited for Prince Hyacinth of Karisen to return and claim her as his bride. But then she learned that he had ascended to the throne and taken a duke's daughter as his empress. Attending the royal wedding as the Tarium representative and heir, Latrasil turned down an offer from Hyacinth before returning to Tarium to fight for her throne when her father died suddenly. After defeating her brother, she became Empress Latrasil of Tarium. When pushed to name a royal consort, Latrasil decided to create a harem for herself. It will be interesting to see what sorts of men who would be willing to accept this position, but that will be revealed in full in the next volume!
Thanks Netgalley and Yen Press for the chance to read this title!

Love that Webtoon is publishing these strips into books!!!
Of course I had to read the reverse harem manwha. Like duh! Do you even know me???
Loved every single character and how different they are.
The art is STUNNNNNINGGGG. The outfits??? Incredible.
10/10 would read more.

I really loved Men of the Harem! I was glad to see that all the political intrigue surrounding Latil's rise to the throne was done in a fast paced manner, oftentimes with series like this I feel they are a bit drawn out, but the pacing here was a true *chef's kiss* for me. The art is incredible and I have to say, Latil in her emperor's clothes is living in my mind rent-free. I really can't wait to read more of this story!

I received an eARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
The newly crowned Queen Latil is all for equality. If her predecessors and her ex boyfriend could have harems with dozens of concubines, she, too, deserves 5-6 hot guys at the very least. As a start. She worked for it, she defeated a rebellion, studied state craft, even forced herself to go to her ex's wedding as a diplomatic gesture. Now it's time for her to receive a well earned reward. But when you're the head of a country, relationships are sure to bring more headache than what a pretty face or two is worth, so how will Latil navigate her new many-pointed situationship?
A lot happens in this first volume, largely shown through a flashback spanning several years. Latil's inner monologues are precious, but she's definitely a capable ruler with a strong personality - one part humor, two parts thirst for vengeance. The story is just about to pick up when the first volume ends, so I'd definitely recommend getting at least the first two at once if you want to dive into this world of intrigue and innuendos.
The art style is rather average, but complements the story well. I have a feeling the artist's favourite character to draw is the duke's son. (Just a guess)
We have yet to see if there's an underlying conspiracy in the background or all suspicious activity can be traced back to people being jealous over each other. I'm personally looking forward to finding out more.

Oh I liked it a lot!🤍
Latil is a QUEEN, I love her, if everyone can have a harem, why can't she? So she starts with having her own harem, (mostly out of revenge for her ex) and omg, so far I really like Ranamun, I still don't know all the others, because they haven't come out yet, but for now he's my fav (physically he's very handsome😮💨 haha)
I got really hooked so I have to continue on webtoon haha🏃🏻♀️✨
Thanks Yen Press / Netgalley for the copy🤍

I loved this first volume, at first I did have to reread a few things because I wasn't sure plot points were completely explained but I got the gist pretty easily. Overall this is a very fun start to a series that I will be continuing. This might be one of my favourite in the genre and I've read a lot. This title has a bit of darkness that I think balances out the humorous moments with plot. I also think it's unique enough of a story but stays true to the genre that it will appeal to the audience.

this wasn't the best manga I've ever read or anything but it was really fun. I loved the characters and the bright art work. I will definitely be continuing this series.

A female Emperor turns the tide by taking multiple consorts in Men of the Harem.
This could have been great, but I have some reservations. The backstory taking up most of the book when it could have been explained in a few pages was devastating. 200 pages dedicated to the past really dragged the story along. This should be a prequel to the story or should have been introduced as a timeline instead of flashbacks.
I'd skip this one.

3.5
This story is honestly pretty interesting, with plenty of room for political intrigue. However, the pace of this volume is all over the place, with multiple large timeslips. I understand that the story is trying to get to the premise of the larger story quickly, but it barely lays the groundwork. She's Emporer in a flash and the barest bones reason why she's constantly trying to get back at fellow Emporer who spurned her love for a political marriage. I'm honestly more curious about the potential political moves the consorts will be making in the future. I hope after this first volume the pace will smooth out and we will finally get some juicy bits. I do really like the art, though some panels are a little off with how hard it leans on 3D assets.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

The idea of this story is so interesting to me. I love the fact that in order for her to get back at her ex lover, she will in turn be taking 5 lovers! We only just scratch the surface of who those 5 consorts are, but I am hooked! The art was beautiful and I felt engaged the entire time. 5 stars!

It's an interesting opening of a reversed harem - I love how she went "why shouldn't I, when all my male ancestors did?" xD
We've yet to meet all her harem members but so far I really like the story.

LOVE TO SEE WOMEN IN MALE DOMINATED FIELDS!!!! Get your harem girl.
What do you do when you're beloved that you've waited patiently for finally returns...engaged to someone else? You make a harem of hotties, one that includes his brother, that's what.
While I was hoping to see the actual formation of the harem, I'm glad that the author took a full volume to lay down the plot and give us some depth to the characters that will be involved in the aforementioned harem. The characters are over the top, and the plotline is petty revenge. I love it, I love the mess of it all. I'm looking forward to continuing this, love to see a diva living her best life.

I loved this. I am very much upset that I can't binge every volume and watch a 15 season anime about it right now. Get to work about it please. I am already obsessed, addicted-all the things. The art and character designs are beautiful. Latil is everything I want in an FMC and more.

Men of the Harem, Vol. 1 by Yeongbin was a great political romance manhwa volume. Initially, the cover made me a little nervous about the content, but this volume at least was mostly set-up on the princess' backstory and how she became emperor of her country in just a few years. I really liked reading about all the characters and seeing how the princess works hard to overcome adversity in her personal and professional life. As a reverse harem fan myself, there should also be some good romance, even if a bit predictable. Looking forward to reading another great volume in March!

I simply have to finish this series! Love the concept and the characters so much and I have to find out who all 5 (and hopefully more) her male consorts end up being!
