Everyone in Alexandra's life is keeping their own secrets, including her, which has now turned her entire world upside down. While trying to forget a dangerous and crazy youth, people she has worked hard to keep in the past are popping up where they shouldn't be and putting her and her family in danger. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has a love of psychological thrillers that are filled with surprises and twists and turns you won't see coming. The entire book held my attention throughout and I couldn't put it down.

Everyone Is Lying is a good little twisty read. Telling the story of teenage girls who were just trying to earn money to get them through university, when one night changes their lives forever.
20 years later, the past come back to haunt them. Will they survive the aftermath?

Thank you to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book so much that I read it in one sitting. I had to know what was going to happen. It had my attention from page 1. I loved the storyline and all the characters. I would definitely recommend this book.

I tore through Everyone is Lying by DE White it two days. It's rare a book holds my attention like that these days.
This is the kind of book I'd want to keep me company on a sun lounger with a cold drink. It moves along at pace and there are enough twists and turns to keep me guessing throughout.
I would have preferred there to be a little more foreshadowing with reference to Harlan and possibly some more of the courtroom detail, but none of this bothered me too much.
I liked Alexandra's complexity as a character. She was neither one thing nor the other and I felt her more believable for it.

Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for proving me with this eARC, all opinions are my own.
This is my first book by this author and it was quite enjoyable, I like a good secret past mystery and this book has tons of secrets. Here we have our female main character Alex and she has a loving husband, 2 kids and a good job and she feels good about her life, then one day she sees an origami bird in her kitchen table and it takes her right back to her past where she seen something g horrible and never told anyone. Someone that knew the secret is dead and now it seems like a threat. The book was quite enjoyable.

Overall this was an interesting read but I felt a little let down by too much introspection and not enough confrontation. It’s not rocket science to work out what happened and what is going to happen. It passed a day of cloud on a beach holiday so therefore I’ll be generous and give it a 3 star.

2.75 stars rounded up. I liked the main character, but the plot was lacking for me. I feel like the set up was solid, but nothing really happened during this book. It felt very dragged out.
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

Everyone is Lying starts off a little slow, but quickly picks up the pace. Alexandra had built a perfect life for her and her family, but the past came back hard and fast. Many twist and turns that I never expected. I was stunned by the end of the story.

4.5 stars for this very enjoyable book! Alexandra was a hostess for “parties” thrown by four men when she was 19. Illegal things happened at these parties, including murder. Thankfully Alexandra got away and kept her past a secret from her husband, Harlan, and her friend. One day she finds an origami bird, something she used to make when she was hostessing. She is told to find the defendant guilty in the trial at which she is a juror - the trail of one of the four party hosts. All the men have gone on to be successful. Told from both the present and Alexandra’s memories of the past, a great story unfolds. Will people be held responsible for their crimes? Shockingly, Harlan also will be held accountable for his actions - a great little twist I didn’t see coming.

I enjoyed this mystery and was really bamboozled by some of the characters. I was curious and enticed right from the beginning! If you’re looking for a quick read with lots of twists, this is it.

At the beginning of Everyone is Lying I had serious doubts that I would enjoy the style of writing, it was overly elaborate and there were too many unnecessary comments and descriptions about hair length. How could Alexandra (Lexy) and Harlan own a luxury period townhouse in Brighton financed from a uniformed policeman's salary and her cosmetic business. However my main bugbear was Lexy remaining in Brighton after witnessing a crime which put her life in danger. A normal instinct would be to move far, far away.
Twenty years ago Lexy had financed her degree course by organising Matthew's parties where she'd seen bags stuffed full of money, hard drugs and alcohol were plentiful and young girls invited especially for the wealthy clients. I assumed that Lexy had been an escort or call girl. No, the author wanted the reader to believe that Lexy was simply a hostess and bartender at the parties, and employed by Matthew for her organisation skills. Ha, tell that to the judge. At one party, 'her skirt was so short it showed her knickers when she bent over' and young girls were supplied for the 'amusement' of the older men.
Trying to ignore all the flying hair, the unexplained extreme wealth and the person who committed the original crimes never reoffending, I continued reading just to discover the what, where, when and how.
An OK read, the plot's a bit far fetched and shouldn't be taken too seriously.
With thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book, this review is my personal, unbiased opinion.

I liked the story idea of this book, but the execution felt a bit short. The story started slow but picked up in pace. I wasn't thrilled by the amount of information that wasn't necessary and it took me out of the story. The story itself was very predictable to me, but I am a fanatic reader of thrillers, so for a person just starting, this might be okay. Another thing that annoyed the living peeps out of me were the main characters. Gosh…they are definitely not likeable, which doesn't work for me as I can’t relate to them. That said, I do believe this will be a nice read for people just starting out in the Thriller genre. It was an okay read, but not something special for me.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, NetGalley, and Storm Publishing for this copy.

Everyone is Lying by D E White
First time read for me by this author , and I enjoyed it.
Lots of twists to keep you reading Alexandra has a husband and children , a lovely home and great people around her .
One day she finds a paper bird and it takes her back to 20 years ago.
Maybe someone close,to her has put it there and knows what she was involved in.
Good.

This was a well written book and I can’t quite put my finger on why I didn’t enjoy it much, but I didn’t. I couldn’t warm to any of the characters and I didn’t find the story gripping or exciting. At times it seemed to just drag on and get nowhere. I persevered right to the end but was glad when I’d finished reading. I’m sure lots of readers will love this but it just wasn’t for me I’m afraid. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review.

Everybody is trying to be someone else and hiding their past from each other, however when a wannabe politician sets up his old friend, things begin to unravel and we realise that everybody is lying to save their own skins. But just who can we believe. ? Lots of twists and turns in the story so the reader isn't quite sure who is being truthful and who might not be. Good pace to make you keep turning the pages to find out the absolute truth.
Thanks to Netgalley/Storm for the ARC to review

Another wonderful twisty tale by DE White.
Alexandra seems to have it all, a husband, children, a nice house, friends and a business that is doing well, but then she finds an origami bird and she is taken back to an evening twenty years earlier….
The title is very apt, everyone is lying! Just who can you trust in this book. Alexandra’s life is not necessarily how it seems, maybe even her perfect husband isn’t quite as perfect as he seems!
The character development is great throughout this book and it’s told in such a way that it will keep you guessing until the end.
I like how the flashbacks are incorporated into the chapters.
I do love a book that captivates you straight away and keeps you intrigued until the end. Definitely one to pick up if you like suspense!

I’ve always enjoyed everything written by this author, and this is no exception. So many twist and turns and a lot of characters that you love to hate!

"Everyone is Lying" by D.E. White was a book that keeps you guessing right to the very end. This book was fast paced and had many turns that you don't see coming.
Alexandria has the life she always wanted. But with one envelope her whole life gets tossed upside down. Her past is starting to come to the present and has the ability to derail everything she has worked so hard for. As she tries to keep her family safe and fight her past, her husband has secrets of his own.
Highly recommend for those that like psychological thrillers.

To be honest, I took on reading this book not really knowing what to expect, and yet I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would!
I was intrigued by Alexandra's history, as it portrayed not only the glamour anda luxury of her past life, but also the dark and scary sides of the work. Although at times, some stylistic choices broke the flow for me, the story was still exciting enough to keep me up for 'just one more chapter'
I would definitely recommend the novel to lovers of mystery and thrillers!
