It is an endearing read for children. But I have to say that it is a bit too simple and does not include enough information about each of the topics covered in the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a very fun and informational read that kids will love. All of the pictures throughout the book were great and helped to make the book more engaging for younger readers. This was a great read and was fun to share with my child.

We have 5 rescued cats that are all different breeds and colors. My 3-year-old enjoyed looking through this book with me! It's vibrantly illustrated and full of fun information.

Review to come to blog on April 27th and then on other places a bit later.

I received this book from the publisher/Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

So last year I read Animal Friends: Hello Dogs! (<a href="https://twirlingbookprincess.com/2024/08/review-for-animal-friends-hello-dogs/">see review here</a>) and had so much fun reading it, so when I saw this book on Netgalley I knew I needed it in my life! And this one was just as fun as the dog book!

In this adorable book we learn all about cats. From how to pet them (which is the perfect spot to pet) to tails and ears and how many different ones there to the various colours and breeds there are (from black to calico) to all the various hair types you have. Also some basic information on what it means when cats ears are x way or when their tail or body is doing y. It was so informative and I loved every bit of it. At times it was a bit chaotic, but you know, for this book I didn't mind it that much, it just made it more fun as you didn't always know what would be next. I liked how varied the information was in this one. Often with books about cats they mostly focus on a few themes or just one. This one just tries to cram everything in it and makes it fun.

I also loved the bonus extras that were included. Like a place to place stickers (which well, I cannot do as I got an ebook). A cat journal, cat bingo, and of course stickers. I did like that the page was included, though of course it only made me miss it more because I cannot get stickers out of an ebook, haha.

Oh, and I like that there were some fun things you could make for your kitty! Like a catnip in the sock toy.

I did think it was a bit odd that this book follows the dog book and then when talking about tails says this: "Unlike a dog wagging a friendly tail, a cat lashes her tail rapidly back and forth to show anger and displeasure." Sure, a lot of time dogs wag because they are happy, but there may be instances a wag is not happy.

All in all, just like with the dog book I would highly recommend this adorable, fun, cute, sweet book to everyone. I cannot wait to see which animal is next!

A beautiful book containing many lovely illustrations and facts about cats. I think every topic was covered! I loved this book and it would be a good gift for a child who loves cats.

There is one factual error though - a cat's eye colour isn't established until 7-8 months of age and can go through several shades before the final colour!

5/5 Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC
I love cats, and I love good books about cats.
Hello Cats! is a lovely book for confident readers, or to read along with parents. I think it's a great book for introducing cat facts, and it presents a lot of different topics that the curious reader could investigate further.
There's loads of information about how to get to know cats, how to be respectful, and how to take care of them.
The text is generously supplemented with colorful pictures - lots of photos and also a variety of illustrations. Topics are broken up nicely, in case you don't want to read the whole book at once.
For information seekers, there's well presented details about colors and breeds, cat relatives, things that make cats unique, but also how they have some similarities with people.
There's some fun crafts and activities included, and tips for how to help out at shelters if it's not the right time for you to have a cat at home.
Would suit a variety of ages and reading levels with some support.

"Hello cat" was absolutely amazing! The fact that there are several key insights on cats behaviours and explanations about their reactions is quite intriguing. I got to know so much about different cat breeds. With pictures and fun activities this book is perfect for all those who love cats.

The book also contains instructions and advice on how to interact with these adorable beings. Also did you know that 1 cat year is actually equal to 15 human years? Amazing, right! You will find many such fun and surprising facts. I'd highly recommend this book.
