I am always looking for new dinner ideas for my picky eaters. I really enjoyed this copycat recipe book and many of our favorites dishes from popular chain restaurants were in here. It covers breakfast, lunch and dinner options and a few quick snacks. This was offered as an ebook, but if I could purchase a kindle option I probably will do that after it publishes.

This is a fantastic cookbook. It features a wide variety of restaurant and takeout foods that are easy to make and feature ingredients that are easy to find.

The recipes in this book are not only easy to understand, but they use approachable ingredients. Nothing fancy, or exotic here, and I like it. It feels like the kind of cookbook that can exist anywhere, and it happens to have very recognizable favorites inside. Highly recommended for every library, this will be popular with patrons of all ages.

Have you ever craved takeout or a restaurant dish but didn't get it because you needed to save money? Well, this cookbook offers restaurant dupes that look just as delicious as the originals and can save you money! I will be honest, I initially requested this cookbook for the Crumbl cookie dupes bc those cookies are so good! I cannot wait to try out the recipe for the pink sugar cookie from this book! I was excited to see copycat recipes for Panda and Chickfila! I really enjoyed that the photography in this book mimicked restaurant menus! It's so clever!
The cookbook is separated by meal type. So, breakfast, appetizers, main dish, etc. There are a LOT of recipes in this one! I wasn't expecting that many! There is a section in the back for US/Metric conversions. There are 2 appendixes one is for healthier substitutions and the other has each recipe listed by restaurant. I highly recommend checking that out if you want to know how many ihop copycats are in it, or starbucks ones, or whatever. Some of the restaurants that were copycatted aren't in my state or I've never heard of them so I am interested to see what they are like.
Some of the recipes don't have a lot of detail to them, like the KFC sweet corn. It is only 2 sentences. The Taco Bell crunch wrap could've used more detail to describe how to wrap it. Anyways, most recipes do not have a photo. Some of the recipes use frozen food or pre-prepared food. This book is to help you make dupes of the restaurant's original. It will not help you achieve gourmet quality. It is here to satisfy your cravings on a budget.
Thank you to Adams Media and NetGalley for the ARC! ♥

I was intrigued by this book given that the prices at some of my favorite restaurants have gotten so expensive! I am not a very experienced cook so I was pleasantly surprised at how many of these recipes are easy to follow, have ingredients that are easy to find in my grocery store and don't cost a lot to make and by the way, taste great! Some of the recipes taste closer to the "real thing" than others but they were tasty in any case. The photos are great and I am excited to try some of the desserts next! A great cookbook for all levels of cooks.

The Everything Restaurant Copycat Recipes Cookbook by Kelly Jaggers is a great resource for home cooks looking to recreate popular restaurant dishes. The book is well-organized, with clear sections for appetizers, mains, sides, and desserts, making it easy to find what you're craving. Each recipe includes straightforward instructions, and I appreciated the tips for achieving that signature “restaurant-style” finish.
However, while the variety is impressive — with recipes inspired by chains like Olive Garden, Chili’s, and Panera — some recipes felt a bit simplified. The book skips deeper explanations of cooking techniques, which may leave newer cooks struggling with more complex dishes. Additionally, while there are some helpful notes on ingredient substitutions, I would’ve loved more guidance on troubleshooting common mistakes or adapting recipes for dietary needs.
Overall, this is a solid cookbook for casual cooks who want to recreate their favorite takeout meals at home, but experienced home chefs may find themselves wishing for a bit more depth.

In this book, Kelly Jaggers provides recipes for over 200 popular dishes from American restaurants, from Denny's to IHOP, KDC and Starbucks.
The recipes are divided into the following sections: Breakfast and Brunch; Appetizers and Snacks; Soup and Salad; Sandwiches and Burgers; Beef, Chicken and Pork Entrees; Seafood and Vegetarian Entrees; Pasta and Noodle Entrees; Sides; Desserts; and Drinks. This is followed by a conversion table between US and metric, an appendix with healthier substitutions, an index of recipes listed per restaurant, and an alphabetical index of recipes.
Some of the recipes seemed a little simplistic (for instance the Olive Garden's breadsticks are just frozen breadsticks with Parmesan) and others call for ingredients that we unfortunately can't get in the UK (the recipe for McDonald's Bacon, Egg & Cheese calls for frozen buttermilk biscuit mix, and the one for Red Lobster's Cheddar Bay Biscuits, which I was most excited to recreate, requires Bisquick original pancake and baking mix). As a result, I found the book was of limited use for me, but of course if you're based in the US, this would not be an issue for you.
A recommended read for fans of iconic dishes from North-American chains who live in North America or can easily get their hands on North-American ingredients.

Thank you to NetGalley for the e-copy of The Everything Restaurant Copycat Recipes Cookbook in exchange for a honest review. This cookbook has a wealth of recipes from virtual every restaurant in the country and highlights their signature recipes. You can save a ton of money by making these recipes at a fraction of the cost you would pay from them at a restaurant and you can enjoy them from the comfort of your home. This book includes a list of ingredients, tips on how to prepare and offers some excellent pictures of some of the finished products.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and would love to get a hard copy when it's available. The content is incredibly informative and well-suited for individuals learning to cook, which is always a plus.
One minor suggestion I have is that the section on kitchen tools could benefit from mentioning meat thermometers. Additionally, I didn't notice any guidance on proper temperatures for finished cheese and meat, which is crucial for food safety and an important consideration for those learning to cook.
Despite these omissions, I'm excited to try out the recipes and appreciate the effort that went into creating this resource. Having a hard copy will definitely make it easier to use.

The Everything Restaurant Copycat Recipes Cookbook has hundreds of recipes to replicate your restaurant experience. Unfortunately, this is not exactly a "cookbook" in my eyes. When I am looking to re-create meals, I am not trying to buy frozen or ready-made items to include (*cough* frozen breadsticks to recreate Olive Garden breadsticks). I'm looking to make recipes from scratch to have the most quality control over the ingredients and nutrients I'm feeding myself and my family. I was disappointed that most of these recipes included ready made items. There is nothing special listed in these recipes to give it a restaurant taste.
Take for example my teenage favorite of the Taco bell Crunchwrap Supreme. Can you really recreate this with basic ingredients like ground beef, salt, onion, cheese, etc? I don't think there is any comparison. It starts with the meat, which is not duplicated with simple ground beef and a generic spice packet. More importantly, how do I fold this tortilla properly? Although there are some pictures to illustrate the finished product, there is no step-by-step guide that really involves you in the cooking process. Each recipe has about 4 to 6 steps, which just seems absurd. There is about 1 generic picture to every 10 recipes listed.
Overall, Kelly Jagger's book feels generic and a google search into each individual recipe would probably yield better results. One of my favorite cookbooks that really involves you in the process is Joshua Weissman's An Unapologetic Cookbook, which I would recommend if you're looking to recreate foods that you would otherwise get in a restaurant or store. This book kind of reminded me of those videos of American moms making unappealing meals.

This book is exactly what it claims to be. There are many many copycat recipes from chain restaurants. I would have enjoyed some healthier substitute options within the recipes.

If you're trying to eat at home more often but just CRAVE that one special thing from your favorite restaurant look no further!
The Everything Restaurant Copycat Recipes Cookbook delivers exactly what it promises, great restaurant copycat recipes. My favorite thing about this book and the other Everything cookbooks is the balance between time saving recipe adjustments (starting with frozen waffle fries instead of trying to cut and cook your own) and keeping true to the restaurant recipe. I can't wait to have a dinner party and impress all my guest with restaurant favorites!

We really enjoyed this cookbook. Reading it made me very hungry, lol. Some of the recipes are a little unnecessary, like maybe how to make Subway sandwiches like tuna. We found the recipes very easy to follow and make.
Thank you to Adams Media and NetGalley for this e-ARC. This review is my own opinion.

I was initially concerned that the recipes in this book would be overly complicated in an attempt to recreate restaurant-quality dishes, but I think it may have swung too far in the other direction. Some recipes feel almost too simplified—for example, the Olive Garden breadstick “copycat” recipe is essentially store-bought breadsticks with butter and Parmesan cheese. That said, the book offers a wide range of recipes that should appeal to many home cooks, with an emphasis on accessibility and ease of execution. As someone who often struggles to decide what to make for dinner, I appreciated the variety and found plenty of inspiration. While I do wish some of the recipes were a bit more detailed or true to their restaurant counterparts, the book succeeds in providing quick and approachable meal ideas

Special thanks to Kelly Jagger for partnering with NetGalley. I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and review.

Who doesn't love breadsticks? I know I do, more so if they are the Olive garden's bread sticks. The recipe in this book is not a copy cat recipe. The OG's bread sticks are vegan and do not contain butter or cheese.

Are you a fan of Outback’s Blooming Onion? Do you crave Aunt Annie’s pretzels? How about Olive Garden’s pasta e fagioli? They’re all in this fantastic cookbook. There’s something for everyone here. The recipes use common items you’d find at the grocery store, and they’re easy enough for even the most novice cook to create. There’s also a helpful guide to kitchen tools and how to stock your pantry so you can create your favorite take-out on faster than it would take to call for delivery.
Not only is the food delicious, but it’s a lot of fun recreating restaurant dishes at home. And it’s a lot more affordable too. I absolutely love, love, LOVE this book!
I received an advance copy of this book from Net Galley and am happy to leave this 5-star review.

The book had a great layout and was organized well! It has a great variety of recipes and restaurants! Very cool resource!

A. Lot of fun recipes in this book. I plan to make a few. There were not enough recipes I liked to warrant purchasing this cookbook but I’m sure it will fit the bill for those who like these restaurants….
