A wonderful primer on Stoicism although the author in several sections, tended to repeat concepts. It became a bit dry by the end by the history of stoicism and the practical advice the book gives in putting the principles into practice is well worth a read. The quotes from Epictetus, Seneca and Marcus Areleus .were the highlights,

It is as it says, an intro book to Stoicism for those who don't want to read the great tomes from start to finish. This book eases newbies in better than an intro to philosophy class, and mainly because there are no tests after reading this book.

An introductory book on Stoicism. It delivers on its promise, and is good for anyone who is beginning to examine the world around them.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Unlike many books I have read on the topic, this one emphasized the happiness that can be achieved with the practice of stoicism, something lacking in other books
