"Coral and Bone" was an inventive and enjoyable YA fantasy. Who doesn't like mermaids, shifters and magic? Halen has been lied to her whole life by everyone she's ever loved. How can she trust this mysterious boy Dax who says he'll protect her no matter what. When Halen is forced to face the truth of her she is, she is hesitant to embrace her magical powers. I enjoyed the story although at times it was difficult to know "who's" voice was calling to Halen. While this story has a satisfying ending, there are many more questions and answers that Halen seeks.
