I devoured this one in a day, so suffice it to say that it's an enjoyable read. The spice is well-dispensed and doesn't overtake (or become) the entire plot.

This was such a fun read! I devoured it in one sitting! Maria is probably one of my favorite FMC I’ve read set in a historical fiction novel and Dominic is definitely added to my top book boyfriend list!
I’ve seen a lot of comparisons to Bridgerton, but the only thing I feel is similar is the regency setting. A Gentleman’s Offer is hysterical and had me actually laughing out loud.

This book was such a cute, modern twist on a period set in Austen times. I was simply enthralled by the characters and thought the plot was really well done.
⭐️ Dom and Meg’s first kiss
⭐️ Primrose and Maria being in love (called it)
⭐️ the banter
Although quite predictable, overall the story stands as a cute rom com with fun spice

A Gentleman's Offer was not one my favorite picks by Emma Orchard. It seemed to go on and on and circle back to more information/ words that where not pertinent to the plot. I did finish the title, although, I am contemplating returning to the author for future reads.

It's nothing like Bridgerton, despite the comparisons—but in the best way possible. This story has its own unique charm, blending unexpected twists, sharp turns, and the most delightful banter. The heroine is a refreshingly liberal woman, unafraid to speak her mind and challenge societal norms, while the hero is utterly charming and sweet, making their dynamic both engaging and irresistible. Their chemistry crackles on the page, and the steamy scenes strike the perfect balance—sensual without overpowering the story. I was completely hooked and devoured it in just two days. Emma Orchard has definitely earned a spot on my must-read list!

To recommend this as similar to Bridgerton would be a discredit to the former. The Gentleman’s Offer is much more fun! Tension. Yearning. Forbidden love. Drama. Blackmail. This is a slower paced book which I’m not very used to, filled with haughty vocabulary and lots of character introspection. The writing style fits the regency era and manner of speaking perfectly.
At times it did feel repetitive and that would cause a lull before the story picked up again. The main characters would learn new information and then sometimes entire chapters were spent just for them to explain again what they’d learned to a new character.
Overall, I’d recommend if you’re a fan of funny, ambling plots full of scheming. It’s a sweet romance (plus a little spice) with a male main character who doesn’t shy away from a “love match.” The characters are witty, satirical, and inclusive.

Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.
This book definitely had potential and I was genuinely interested in the plot. The writing was also very good. My main issue - and one I simply couldn't ignore - was how unnecessarily long the book was. If we take into consideration the kind of story and plot being developed, it felt extremely silly for it to drag for so long. It made me go from liking the book to just wanting it to be over (and this was around the 53% mark of the story, when the main issue was apparently solved already!

Sir Dominic proposed marriage to Maria, the woman of his father's choosing. Midway through the celebrationsd, his fiancee confessed that she's actually Maria's identical twin, Margaret. Margaret promises to help him find his real bride. But they fall in love along the way...
Love Margaret and Dominic. Terrific characters... Lots of fun together. Love the banter and chemistry.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Dominic gives in to his mother's pestering and decides to wed the woman his deceased father wanted him to. He meets Maria and a wedding of convenience is set. The next time he meets her she tells him that she is not Maria but her identical twin Meg who was living in the country. Maria has run away and, to avoid scandal and the wrath of her cruel father, Meg has stepped in to take her place while she works on finding her. Attracted to each other, they both don't know what they will do when they do find Maria. I enjoyed this book by this new-to-me author. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Boldwood Books for my honest review.

I had the opportunity to read an early copy of A Gentleman’s Offer through NetGalley. While the premise interested me, I found the story a bit slow and difficult to fully engage with. It’s described as a “spicy” regency romance, but I wouldn’t necessarily categorize it that way—it felt more subdued than expected. Additionally, comparisons to Bridgerton seem a bit of a stretch, as the only real similarity is the regency setting.
That said, the characters were well written and had their moments, making the book an overall okay read. It didn’t fully capture my interest, but fans of slower paced historical romances may enjoy it more.

Good book. I thought it was a fast read. Good, interesting storyline. I liked the main Meg and Dominic. A must read!

It’s been awhile since I read an Regency romp without the same overused themes. This new novel kept me interested, and I was eager to follow along to see what happened next. I’m not sure if I would label this “steamy” as the description suggested, but there was some spice.
All and all, I enjoyed the read and would seek out future novels by this author.
Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC of this novel; all opinions are my own.
