This really took me by surprise. I didn't realize it was a novella until after I started listening. I don't gravitate to them because I always think the story moves too fast, this was not an exception. HOWEVER, it was fun and entertaining overall.

If you don't mind a fast and spicy read, this is absolutely for you. Very fun and likeable characters.

Very cute! I loved the goose—it was hilarious and definitely a highlight of the book.
I loved the couple.
Very short but good.

The story was cute but very silly and quite repetitive. The number of times they referenced their meet cute at Oktoberfest, like it was years ago, instead of a couple of months, became a bit eye roll inducing. It’s always hard with novellas because they try to be a full story in just too short a time. It’s better when a novella takes place over just a few days, so it can be properly fleshed out. I didn’t love the insta love and the only conflict in the story was solved about a minute after it happened so there was no real conflict to overcome. But as the author’s note said, this was meant to be just a fun fluff story, and that it was.

I wanted to give this series another shot after not enjoying the last on I read in the series. It was a cute holiday read overall. Just weird that we got the Goose POV.. which I am not sure I really enjoyed but anyways. This series is super cheesy and funny, it delivered on that end.

Thank you Netgalley and dreamscape media for the free alc. My opinions are being left voluntarily. I love all of Amy books and her audiobooks are some of my Favourites. I'm always impressed when an author can write a fab novella and not make it seem short. With character development etc..

Definitely Suggest picking it up

Sara Jayne and Mac

So sweet! I LOVE it when the guy falls hard and fast as Mac does with Sara Jayne. The goose is definitely a fun addition to the story, but he doesn't hold a candle to Mac and Sara Jayne's chemistry...even from the very beginning. The Kingmans and their friends and family are so amazing and fun and loud and boisterous and wonderfully fantastic!!!

I had the wonderful joy of re-reading Honkers on Audio. The readers bring the story to life even more! They do a superb job of representing Sara Jayne and Mac. I love these two! I especially love how we get to continue being a part of their lives in the Kingman series!!

This book was the definition of "fine". I didn't dislike anything about this book, but I also was never very engaged with it. It felt like it moved too fast and I was very unconvinced by the characters and their relationships. It felt like we were just going through the motions of a romance book and not really convincing me that these were realistic people with real chemistry. It also felt like we skipped a lot of steps to get them to falling in love. It was still a fun little book that could be a quick holiday read, but I'm not itching to make everyone read it. The narrators were good though!

I love Amy Award, and this audiobook does not disappoint! It was incredible to read through the first time, and this time with the goose. I can't. This book was amazing.

This was such a fun, fast-paced, and adorable audiobook!

As a fan of this series and Amy Award’s writing, it was a delight to get a glimpse of the Kingsman family again—especially Mum, April—and to see how our favorite agent, Mac, found the love of his life.

This is an insta-love story, which isn’t usually my favorite trope, but for a short, steamy holiday romance like this, it worked perfectly. Amy’s writing is always engaging, and the voice actors did a fantastic job bringing Mac and Sara to life.

I’d highly recommend this to fans of the series and anyone looking for a quick, slightly spicy rom-com.

Oh, and a standing ovation for the true star of the book: Sir Honksalot, the chaotic goose who helps our main characters find their destiny! 🦢✨

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this ALC.

I adored Allie Shae and Kyle Mason performing together.

Loved: Sir Honks A Lot, klepto goose shenanigans, the fast fall, oh no! one bed?, and a bit of the early Kingman family.

Can we just gush over his royal gooseness getting his own little chapter?!?!? I’m swooning so hard!!!

Disliked: that my face hurts from smiling.

Super cute novella, in a prequel to the grown up Kingman's. This was cute, funny and an enjoyable read. The ending cracked me up!

It’s not every day you save a goose from the chopping girl and end up with a fake fiancé. Mr Honksalot wrecks Sara Jayne’s apartment so when the opportunity arises to house sit for her boss she makes up an elaborate story. Now all they have to do is convince everyone that they’re a couple.

I love everything about this. Amy Award is the queen of spicy yet fluffy romcoms with plus size fmcs. And there’s always a quirky animal and I must say the goose aka Mr Honksalot is my favorite thus far. The chapter from his pov was a fun surprise.

Both mcs are having a rough time getting their careers to take off. I’m so glad Sara Jayne stuck to her guns and made the most an opportunity when it presented itself. Love her.

This is a prequel to the Kingman books that features some of the characters we’ve all come to love. This one’s a must read!

Four and a half stars for this absolutely delightful holiday rom-com! Amy Award serves up a festive, flirty, and fluffy masterpiece filled with laughter, love, and a mischievous goose named Sir Honksalot. The story is equal parts chaotic and heartwarming as a sports agent and a fierce plus-size model fake an engagement to solve their mutual housing problems. Of course, sharing a mansion (and a bed!) during the holidays leads to plenty of sexual tension and unexpected feelings.

Narrators Allie Shae and Kyle Mason bring so much charm and personality to the characters, perfectly capturing the humor and swoony romance. I was giggling, blushing, and grinning the entire time! The antics of Sir Honksalot—stealing socks and causing merry mayhem—added an extra layer of hilarity.

This quick, spicy read is perfect for anyone craving some holiday cheer with a side of smut and an extra dose of adorable fluff. Highly recommend for fans of fake dating, one-bed tropes, and chaotic holiday shenanigans!

If you like the other Kingsman books, you’ll likely enjoy this holiday novella.

I’ve read the other books and while I didn’t like this as well as the others, it wasn’t a bad read, just a bit silly at times.

it was a cute quick read. wasnt as steamy or funny as the rest of awards things but it was still enjoyable.

Much like the other instalments in this series of interconnected standalone romance books, this is a lighthearted piece of fluff (as stated in the author's note at the start of the book!) featuring characters you want to root for getting into borderline implausible situations and ending up with a happy ever after at the end. This Christmas novella focues on Mitch and Sarah-Jane, a sports agent and model who are both struggling to get their careers off the ground, and the obvious star of the story Sir Honksalot - a goose. The dual POV narration was really good with both male and female narrators managing to pull off the opposite voices without it sounding cartoonish or mocking.

This was such a good book. I loved the story and the writing so much. The characters were great and the story flowed smoothly. Will definitely read more books by this author in the future.

this was hard for me to follow, it took me a hot minute to realize it wasn't any of the kingmans family relation and honestly, i just didn't love this... i just felt kind of lost and in free fall with this one. the characters were cute though and i enjoyed their banter, plus the goose was funny.

but i feel like the synopsis was missing a little more to it, i didn't realize until mostly being finished that this book was a prequel.... but either way, cute and fluffy, can't complain about that
