I couldn't put it down—every page is packed with action, tension, and drama that make you want to keep reading, even when you know you should put it down for the night. The twists and turns are relentless, each one more surprising than the last, leaving you breathless with anticipation.

What truly stands out is the deep emotional turmoil that the characters go through. The family dynamics are complex and fraught with betrayal, pain, and trauma, making every interaction feel heavy with the weight of unresolved conflict. It's impossible not to get emotionally invested in the characters' struggles, and their journeys make the plot even more gripping.

This is a book that will have you hooked, unable to turn away from the chaos and heartbreak unfolding on each page. It’s a masterful blend of suspense, drama, and psychological depth—an unforgettable read that you won’t soon forget. Highly recommend!

I can honestly say I wasn’t a huge fan of the characters In the story but the story itself was good.
Leah is just looking to get rich and live the lifestyle she was taught about from her mom. Well she is in for more than she expected when she meets Miles. She gets swept up to his chateau where his wife died and his cousin is staying. Vivienne is playing the part of a grieving widow and her and Leah just can’t seem to find a common ground. But with a few twist you will find out exactly why.
The twists make the story cause you really don’t see it coming. If your looking for an easy read maybe a vacation read this is a book you would probably enjoy.

Leah wants what every girl wants - a clear future, a nice husband, and a few extra bucks in the bank. Leah just got out of a regular relationship with someone who ended up falling out of love with her and marrying someone else. She's decided she's looking more for security and money than love and marriage.

Leah meets Miles in a bar, who lost his wife last year. Miles was devastated and didn't think he could start again, but here he is. Miles' cousin Vivienne is one of the last close remaining family members left in his life, so she's important to him. After a quick whirlwind romance, Miles proposes to Leah. Leah also finds out where they are staying was the same location as where Miles' last wife died. She had been told it was an accident, but rumors around town start to circulate and now she's not so sure. Will Miles turn out to be a killer or the love of her life?

I enjoy this so much! I thought it was going to be a silly thriller but I thoroughly enjoyed it enough to actually try and read some more book the author has put forth. This was my introduction to this reader and I'll for sure be doing some research on reading additional things.

Leah has been searching for the man to give her the lifestyle she deserves when she meets Miles. A recent widower, he is smitten with Leah once they meet. He brings her to his chateau in the French countryside, where she meets his cousin. Something is off, but Leah has her eye on the prize.

I loved this book. There were twists and turns that made me want to keep reading. I didn't want to like Leah because she was a gold digger, but I couldn't help but find myself rooting for her. I did not see the ending coming at all. I will be definitely check out more from this author

Thanks t NetGalley for this ARC

I really like this book a lot. When the second perspective came and the second part was revealed, I was curious as to which way it would go as it seemed there was no way. TJ Emerson really impressed me with the ending, but also kind off Ade me want to move to the Italian countryside!

This book was good but mid for me. It moved at a slower pace than I’m used to for thrillers. I like that it had a lot of twists and turns that kept it interesting and it had a bit of an unreliable narrator which is fun.

As for the way it ended, I’m not sure how I feel. I almost feel bad for Leah and happy she chose the ending she did. She seemed to change for the better and get what she deserved from that scumbag Miles.

Thank you Netgalley for the arc!

“The Last Mrs. Sinclair” is a thriller/mystery by TJ Emerson. Where to start - gold digger Leah meets Miles Sinclair, who is a widower. Miles takes Leah to his French chateau where Miles’s cousin, Vivienne, is acting as housekeeper and in mourning over her own husband’s death. There’s mystery - just how did Miles’s wife die - and some twists - what does sexy Jacques know. I’m not a fan of books where I don’t know who I can and cannot trust and in this book, I wasn’t sure anyone could be trusted or even liked. However, it was nice to read the two POVs from both Leah and Vivienne. The book has a pretty steady pace (once the set-up was set) and the overall storyline was interesting. I saw some of the twists coming, so nothing was surprising but it was a quick read and entertaining.

The Last Mrs Sinclair by T.J Emerson.

Leah knows that relationships are based on power and not love. She also knows what she wants out of a relationship. She focuses on the goal ; A rich husband, a life of designer items and not having to worry about daily struggles like rent or money, basically a life of luxury. When she meets Miles she is sure she met the man who can give her this life. He is much older and his life is full of tragedies. She goes to his home, Château Clairvallon and there she meets his cousin Vivienne. Here Leah realizes something is not quite right as she begins to uncover secrets. It surely isn’t a coincidence that so many tragic events happen at Château Clairvallon. Or is it?

Definitely a page turner. I enjoyed it from beginning to the end and I loved the plot twists.

Leah Williams is a woman on a mission. Tired of dead-end jobs that do not pay, Leah is determined to find herself a rich man who will be able to provide her with safety, love and a secure environment in which to live but also hopefully with the funds to provide her with a lavish lifestyle. Leah was the product of an alcoholic mother and an absent father and suffered a miserable childhood. She is a very attractive woman so she dresses herself up and sits in high class bars where hopefully she will meet the man who will fulfill all her dreams. Soon, as she had hoped, along comes Miles Sinclair.

Miles is a man 30 years her senior but one that meets all her criteria and lives in a French chateau in the countryside, an enormous home that has been in his family for years, but also one with skeletons in the closet. Miles lost his first wife Riley, another younger woman who suffered a tragic accident at the chateau where Miles will take Leah six weeks after their first meeting. But Miles’s cousin Vivienne is also a resident and her history with Miles goes back to childhood, they are incredibly close.

Leah is determined to have Miles marry her and for her it is more about power than love and if Vivienne is also part of this deal, she will pretend, for now, that everything is fine. But once Leah moves in, she finds herself questioning more and more what lead to Riley’s death and becomes quite obsessed about this. How did Riley really die and was anyone responsible for this or was it a terrible accident.

The book is split into four sections with different POVS throughout ad this works well. Section two will open doors in the storyline ad soon the excitement begins. I really liked Leah, some may see her as a gold digger, but she is very honest and authentic, and this adds a lot to the story. Themes throughout the book focus on power, betrayal and deception and it was a quick and very enjoyable read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the book, all opinions expressed are my own.

A really enjoyable psychological thriller, I loved the main character and her back story and found this an unpredictable and twisty story. A good blend of thriller and domestic noir. Highly recommended xx

The Last Mrs. Sinclair by T.J. Emerson is a slow burn that steadily builds into an engaging mystery.

At first, I expected a straightforward, somewhat predictable suspense novel, but a twist early in the second part changed my expectations. Despite the limited cast of characters, the author managed to weave an intriguing plot. The alternating perspectives of Leah and Vivienne added depth, giving insight into both women and the mysterious death of Miles’s first wife, Riley.

While the beginning was a bit slow, once the story gained momentum, it truly took off. The twists kept me engaged, and the ending tied everything together in a satisfying way. Definitely a book that surprises you as it unfolds!

This is a twisty thriller full of secrets and lies. It seems like each character is keeping their own secrets that the reader keeps trying to figure out but always comes up short!! I was hooked from page one and didn’t want to put it down. I definitely recommend this book and it’s the first one I’ve read by this author and hopefully it won’t be the last.

Leah Williams knows exactly what she wants from life – comfort, luxury and security. All the things she would have had if her childhood hadn’t been derailed by her father’s bad decisions. And then she meets Miles Sinclair. After the death of his wife last year, Miles is ready to start living his life again, and Leah knows just how to help him… what could be so wrong with that?

When Miles takes Leah to his chateau in the French countryside, she's excited to get a taste of the life she deserves, even if it means enduring the presence of Miles’ cousin Vivienne, who seems determined to insert the memory of his dead wife into every conversation.

But the Chateau Clairvallon has a history, not least as the place where the last Mrs Sinclair died. And as Leah discovers more about the accident that took her predecessor's life, she begins to realise that the family she's set her sights on isn't quite what it seems.

What happened that summer?

Was it really an accident?

And is Leah in danger?

Thus was a quick read for me. The book was good, although it seemed like a rehash of several other books I've read,in the past. This would be a good beach read .

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing this book, with my honest review below.

Leah is a classic gold digger who is after the comfort she believes was snatched from her life by her father through another man - and as long as she heeds her mother’s advice on keeping the power in a relationship, she feels she may just get it with Miles. When visiting Mile’s family’s chateau in France Leah starts to suspect she may be in over her head given rumours around Mile’s dead wife, his odd sister, and the neighbors in town who have stories that indicate all isn’t quite as it seems. With stunning descriptions of the chateau and surrounding areas, and twists that were unexpected but so good, The Last Mrs. Sinclair was far more than it seemed on the surface.

I especially loved the very end! You will likely be repulsed by most of the characters but trust me, most will end up getting what they deserve (or seem to be on track to it) or even redeemed… the best part is finding out how the pieces fall.

Leah knows that life with affluent Miles would be financially beneficial and glamourous. Miles invites her to his French chateau and she is excited until she meets Vivienne.

Vivienne is Miles second cousin and has not taken a shime to Leah.

Leah discovers facts about Miles first wife and this is where Leah becomes afraid and unsure of what to do..

This is a pacy and well written thriller. I loved my reading time and this book is highly recommended.. The perfect holiday read..
