This was a captivating thriller. I enjoyed the different perspectives and didnt see all the twists coming.

Really liked this book! Interesting premise with some really complex characters. I really liked the alternating viewpoints in the story and thought the plot was fantastic. Pacing was really good as well. The ending seemed a bit predictable, but then had a nice little twist at the end! I'd love to read more by this author!

Leah Williams knows what she wants in life, she wants a man who can take care of her financially, let her lead the life of comfort and luxury.
She has fallen in love before and been scalded, her deceased mothers words haunt her. " All relationships are based on power, not love"
Her father betrayed his family and bought them from riches to ruin and Leah is determined to get her sad life back on track.
Leah meets Miles a widowed wealthy older man and is determined to secure her future with him, no matter what it takes to do it.
Leah is invited to the families chateau in France where she is now fully enthralled in securing her future. The chateau has a history though and Leah soon discovers Miles late wife died here in a terrible accident.
I found the start of this book tedious and it didn't start to get going for me until half way through. However from that point on it was great.
Lots of twists that I didn't see coming and some that I did.
The ending was a nice surprise.
Thank you Boldwood Books for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

The Last Mrs. Sinclair | ARC review✨
This book was fabulous!
After reading the synopsis, I went into it expecting a The Last Mrs. Parrish/ The Housemaid sort of vibe (which is great because I loved both those books), but this completely took another turn! There were multiple POV’s, and I was kept guessing each character’s true intentions until the last page. I finished this in about a day and a half because I just had to know what happened.
Definitely add this one to your TBR!
Four stars from me⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you @netgalley for the chance to read + review ahead of time!
This releases March 26, 2025 📚

pretty good! It was pretty much a copy of the last Mrs Parrish, so it felt like a copycat book. It even has similar book cover. If you did not read the last mrs parrish, then sure this would be a good book, but since its a copy it is repetetive
Thank you to NetGalley, to the author, and to the publisher for this complimentary ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!

This is a perfect summer thriller. I was captivated by the plot and was quickly transported to the chateau in France.
It’s an easy, yet engaging read and I was drawn to the plot. It came with plenty of twists that kept me guessing throughout.

Meet Leah Williams, derailed by her childhood and her fathers careless mistakes, Leah heeds her mothers warning and looks for comfort, luxury, security, wealth. Her mother warned her not to fall for love but for power and after burned by her previous love, Leah craves everything but love. When she meets Miles Sinclair, she can see her future. Wealthy and recently widowed, Miles seems like the perfect partner for Leah. Once arriving at his chateau, the place of his last wife' demise, Leah starts to realize their may be more to Miles than she originally thought. Burdened with the chateau's secrets and scrutinized by Miles cousin, Vivienne, Leah begins to snoop around and once she starts, she cant stop.
This was a good book. It took me a second to get pulled in but once I did I was hooked! It was very interesting. There were a bunch of twists and turns, some I did see coming and some I did not! I felt on edge when she was searching for secrets and I was so so interested to see the truths unconvered! Definitely reminds me of Freida McFadden!
Loved this book! 4/5 stars!

Leah, wanting the luxurious life her father's mistakes denied her, targets wealthy widower Miles Sinclair. She moves into his French chateau, but his cousin and the lingering memory of his deceased wife make things complicated. Leah soon discovers the chateau's secrets, including the mysterious circumstances surrounding the previous Mrs. Sinclair's death, and realizes the family she's entangled herself with is hiding something. Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the advance copy. All opinions are my own.

Amazing thriller, this was full of spice, suspense and twists.
I totally recommend it. 5 STARS. one of my favorite.

What a rollercoaster! I feel like this is one of those books I think about for a while after I finish reading it. In a good way though. Some of it was predictable and at other times I was surprised.

Leah meet a man in a bar and they have a drink. She thinks she has met the man of her dreams after all she is a woman with a plan. This started off great but then slows to a snails pace with nothing going on. Rich people behaving badly and all the characters had no redeeming qualities.
Lies, lies and more lies.

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review-
What a wild ride Leah begins when she strives to find a rich man looking for luxury and security, no matter the age. She meets Miles and he takes her to his home. The thing is his previous wife died there or was she murdered? Things are going good with many questions appearing- the clock is ticking to the wedding. Is this what she really wants?

Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this Advanced Reader’s Copy of The Last Mrs. Sinclair by T.J. Emerson due to be published March 26, 2025.
Leah Williams knows exactly what she wants from life – comfort, luxury and security. Then she meets Miles Sinclair. After the death of his wife last year, Miles is ready to start living his life again, and Leah knows just how to help him… what could be so wrong with that? Leah starts to question things when Miles’ cousin, Vivienne, steps in. What really happened to Miles’ wife? Is Leah in danger?
I loved this book! I never knew who was playing who until the very end. Just when I thought I figured out part of the plot something would change. What an ending! I definitely recommend this book. It was the first one I have read by T.J. Emerson, but it won’t be my last!

The Last Mrs Sinclair by T. J. Emerson
adventurous dark emotional mysterious reflective sad tense medium-paced
4.5 stars
received this ARC from NetGalley for review
this book started out slow but when it picked up it really took off
i really enjoyed the twists this book took and was not expecting the ending .
i think fans of Freida McFadden , Gillian Flynn , and Riley Sager will enjoythis book .

I really wanted to like this and thought it would have a different turnout. Unfortunately it’s a miss for me. I found none of the characters particularly likable and waited for one of the main characters to get their comeuppance. Even minor background characters have no redeeming qualities.I kept reading hoping for karma to take the wheel, but it never happened. Basically, horrible people continue on without consequences (I know they’re not real people, but I get really attached to characters and storylines, haha).
Keep in mind there are some sexually explicit scenes, and includes heavy subject matter (incest).

The mystery is just a little off on every page of this book. The setting is amazing but the story doesn’t live up to its potential.

I enjoyed this! A twisty psychological thriller all about money, s*x, secrets, and lies. I'd love to read more from this author.

"All relationships are based on power, not love."
Such a quirky statement coming from the deceased mother of Leah Williams that proves right as I read more into the book. Leah is a young woman that most people will quickly label a gold digger, as she is looking for a rich man to marry to get the financial stable life she used to live in her childhood. While she may not have the brightest past, I find it hard to dislike her because of her realistic intention, albeit the unconventional journey that most society might deem unethical. She gets lucky attracting a recently widowed Miles Sinclair, who immediately whisks her away to his fascinating chateau in Paris. There she meets Vivienne, a bitter cousin of Miles, who experiences similar grief and shows instant distaste towards Leah by constantly comparing her to Riley, the late Mrs. Sinclair. This invokes Leah's curiosity about Riley as she also hear rumors that Riley's departure might not be an accident as reported.
The book is divided into four parts. At first, I thought this would be an easy predictable read with a few suspense here and there. After a twist at the start of the second part, I was kinda hoping that the author might offer more intricate plot, in spite of the limited number of characters introduced. The progress is slowing down until the end of the third part where the conflict thickens. I won't tell more about the ending, but I can say that it is worth it to read until the very end *wink
I will recommend this book to readers looking for a light mystery read that can be concluded in one or two sittings.
Special thanks to Boldwood Books for providing digital copy of this book for me via NetGalley to review. All opinions are honestly my own! :)
