I really enjoyed this graphic novel, I love the witch vibes the colours used were beautiful and really popped. I am excited to read more volumes.

I loved this graphic novel. I found all of the characters to be unique and interesting. Im interested in learning more about everyone's stories in future volumes. I love the sapphire witchy vibes!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC.
Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed this graphic novel.
It is fast-paced but still easy understandable.
I also really like the illustration style and colours being used.

I loved this! I felt immediately drawn to the characters and loved the art style and colours! I really can't wait to read more and buy the volumes in print because I want to see this beauty in a physical form! I really enjoyed the way expressions were conveyed and the lore was deep but not overwhelmingly so, everyone was unique and easily distinguishable and I want to know more about them all!

This graphic novel is dark, broody, and completely engrossing. I was so captivated that I devoured it in a single sitting.
Beyond the compelling plot, the story offers a wonderfully diverse cast of characters and insightful commentary on difficult family dynamics.
While the story ends on a cliffhanger, common to graphic novels, it was so effective that I'm already eager for more. A fantastic start to a new series.

Thank you Ten Speed Graphic for the drc via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really loved the artwork for Muted! The colors were vibrant and the light/dark elements really set each scene and the emotions of the characters. The story itself is witchy and fun with lots of darker elements: haunting, trauma, and some references to abuse. Everything is handled well and makes it an interesting spooky tale that will have you wondering what's really going on in Camille's family and with her power. I liked seeing how different each witch family is, even just in how they each dress -- it's all unique. There's also a little bit of a romance going on and I like that it's in the very beginning stages so it feels like a natural progression. Since it's the first in the series, we are introduced to a lot of characters but are only just getting to know each a little bit so I look forward to seeing how each character develops throughout the series. I love seeing Camille grow and experience things she was never able to do before and start to heal from the way her aunt raised her and how she kept her disconnected from anyone who could have shown her kindness. She's forging new friendships and learning more about herself while gaining an independence she hasn't had since her family died. I am curious to see what happens with her cousin though as Camille seems to be distancing herself and it's the first time they have spent apart since she went to live with her aunt and cousin. Overall, it's an interesting story and I look forward to reading more.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Muted! It had a suspenseful mood, but also had fun and hopeful elements that kept me engaged. I also love a good Sapphic story! I look forward to continuing to read the series in the future.

I absolutely loved this story and art. The witchy magic and the setting were fun to explore, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes.

I really enjoyed this! The cover is really captivating, and throughout the pages I appreciated the vivid use of red and the contrasty yet still very deep and rich dark colours. The character design is simple yet amazing, the distinctly Edwardian silhouette of Camille contrasted with the modern clothes of others made her really femme, fragile and sheltered. And she haven't even said a word yet! Wonderful storytelling technique.
The story focuses on a handful of witches and witch families with interesting powers, customs and aesthetics. In this volume it only just started setting up the world and the characters and their relationships, so the "polyamorous" part of the pitch is a bit overstretched. It is streamlined for a sapphic romance, we already have an adorable love interest who understands what Camille needs and initiates wonderful conversations with not just her, but her aunt Silvia as well (who is my favourite side character right now, her traumas are cutting deep into her personality and actions and I'm here for it).
The plot is very intriguing, the only thing that doesn't make me urge to jump to the webtoon to continue the story is that the author's note claims there have been changes to make it more dramatic, and now I would like to stay with the final version. Can't wait for the next volume, what a cliffhanger!

I would like to thank the publisher for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review through NetGalley.
Camille is a witch, able to summon demons using blood magic. After the death of her parents, she's lived with her aunt and cousin, studying in order to test and discover if she'll be a matriarch to her family. But when she performs her summoning, and she summons something made of plants, she panics and dismisses it. Left behind, Camille will soon discover that there's more than a few secrets being kept about her past, some that will get her killed if she's not careful. But before she can uncover them, she'll have to face the events of her past that have been missing from her memories.
This was fun. I liked the witches and the magic, and the different covens? Families? were all unique. Camille is an interesting character because she's not just from one family but two, and her warring sides help to create a powerful witch. I like the rules of this world and the way things play out is interesting. The romance is still just beginning an I'm all here for it and can't wait to see where things will end up going. The dynamic between the characters is interesting as Camille hardly has anyone that she can turn to, and yet so many people actually care for her. The artwork is absolutely beautiful, and each panel is done in a way that draws you right in. I loved this so much, and I can't wait to read the next installment.

OMG, OBSESSED
This is the story about Camille and her struggles with family and also her own identity. This story has absolutely adorable love story and absolutely wholesome style of drawings.
I'm in love and in awe. This graphic novel was so freaking entertaining!!!!
The style of drawings is absolutely amazing and the plot and everything else is not far behind. I read this story in one sitting and honestly, it's not enough, I need more about these characters. AND ALSO ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The love story. THEY ARE SO ADORABLE!!!!!!
This story very pleasantly surprised me. I'm very grateful to NetGalley and Miranda Mundt for the opportunity to read this arc.

I loved it! The characters and the story were compelling, the artwork was beautiful and full of colour, the different families felt so real and the author managed to express all this without over-explaining it.
Can't wait to read the next volume!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the arc!

This book has such a fun and complex system of magic. I want to know more about all of these magical families and what their powers can do. Vol. 1 did a great job of setting up the story without feeling like it was only exposition. I can't wait to read more of this!

What I Loved
1) The art style was beautiful. There are a lot of scenes in a forest in this book which were absolutely stunning!
2) The way that I feel I already know so much about the family dynamics in such a short space of time shows that the worldbuilding in this book is great and I think that we got good introductions to start understanding everyone.
3) I absolutely love books about sapphic witches! I love how we're starting to see a bit of found family happening between the witches from different families. I can't wait to see how this develops in further volumes.
4) The setting was amazing. It has a gothic manor in the woods that gives it a grungy-cottagecore mix of vibes but then also incorporates the modern elements so that they don't feel too out of place.
Thank you to Netgalley, Ten Speed Press and Miranda Mundt for this eARC in exchange for an honest review

I loved rereading this story after a couple years. The way the panels were adapted to the graphic novel format seemed excellent to me, the essence of the backgrounds was preserved. The drawing style always seemed very nice to me, the color palettes are very harmonious and combine with the watercolor-style backgrounds. As for the story, the different witch families are very interesting, the characters are diverse and the protagonist is endearing. I'm excited to read the next volumes!

Muted is a delight, but a painful one. Camille Sevein is everything you would want a young witch coming into her powers to be. Beautiful, mysterious, magically talented, quick to make friends and open minded, but also devastatingly abused by her cold and vicious aunt, the family matriarch, who believes their family has immeasurable high standards and are above all other witches . Her sister and her mom were killed and she gets the blame for that too, which she carries with a heavy heart. Fortunately there’s a LOT of delightful characters in this who draw Camille out of her shell, including family she wasn’t aware of and some perky romantic interests. Lots of fun, GORGEOUS artwork, very engaging!!!

Sapphic witches, a summoning circle gone wrong, familial drama and growing up with a cold aunt as a caregiver, plants. Alleged poly sapphic romance that must pop up in later books since this volume really focused on setting up the plot, family dynamics, different matriarchs for witch covens, and lots of trauma flashbacks for the protagonist.
The art style is great, loved the little familiars, promising start to the series but needed a bit more plot to keep me engaged with the story.

A magically fun sapphic adventure awaits!
I don't frequent Webtoon, so I hadn't ever heard of this series. When I saw it pop up in my NetGalley suggestions, I thought the cover looked interesting, and the description sealed the deal. I was thrilled to get approved to review it, and quickly dove in, bumping it up above so many in my TBR.
I'm really glad that I decided to check out this title. The art is stunning, and the story is interesting and engaging. I love the idea of this world of battling magical families, and a young woman caught in the crossfire, attempting to figure out who she is, both as a witch, and as a woman.
The mysteries surrounding Camille, who really started the fire, who is the girl/demon stalking her, and why, as well as what really happened to her father, are intriguing and kept me turning page after page. It was hard to restrain myself from reading the entire thing in one sitting, however I did manage to stretch it out over a few days at least.
The fact that she's also struggling with her sexual identity, and what that means in regards to the demands placed on her by her aunt and the traditions of her bloodline, was a nice aspect as well. I think that in the current political climate, we need as many positive representations of our community as we can get. It appears that when she finally does figure that part of herself out she'll find that she has a wonderful support system, which too many kids today are lacking. I really hope that I'm right about that, and that she'll have the strength to stand up to her aunt.
I think my only complaint is that it was over much too quickly, and I have no idea when the next installment will be released. I really hope that I'll be lucky enough to be on the review team for that one, and all of the coming installments of this story, as they get released. Thank you to Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to review Muted Vol. 1. I really do hope you keep me in mind for future volumes, I can't wait to see what's to come!

Camile is preparing for the family’s traditional demon-summoning ritual. She is terrified of making a mistake, especially after the mysterious fire that killed her mother and twin sister thirteen years ago. No matter how hard she tries, Camile is never good enough by her aunt’s standard to be a witch worthy of the Severin name. So when she fails to call forth the demonic bird of their family line, and instead calls up leaves and vines, Camile flees into the swamp. Then things get really interesting.
This is a heartbreaking and wonderfully hopeful work of art showcasing Camile’s journey through tragedy and into personal growth. It is full of moments of harshness, trauma, and cruelty… but it also jammed full of moments of pure inspiring hope. The art is gorgeous, the writing is well done, and the story is beautiful. I cannot wait to see where Camile goes with herself and the cohort of characters who’ve been introduced in this first volume. I especially want to see the development of Camile and her familiar and demon’s relationships!
Thank you NetGalley and Clarkson Potter / Ten Speed Press for the advanced reader copy of Muted: Volume 1.
