“My world has gotten so much bigger in such a short amount of time.”
I loved every single page of muted. The world allows escapism, even though it’s also very easy to identify oneself to the MC, Camille. She’s different –in many ways– and she has difficulties finding her place in the world. The demon she evoques during the ceremony at the beginning of the book –and that scares her later, making her having panic attack and sensory overload– is such a great representation of “everyone’s difficulties” but as an autistic person it felt a great way to picture the “dark” side of autism, when the world begins to be too much and overwhelming, and when you can’t have dragon anymore (I usually call it the dragon to my unicorn, but well…).
I adored the art of this book, the lines, but also the vibrant colors, and probably even more the choices for framing that made the whole even more impactful.
I can’t wait for the next instalment in this story to be released, as in this one Camille discovered a few things about herself, found (more than?) friends and extra family. I can’t wait to know if she’ll embrace all this identity… Also the romance feels very promising so… I’ll be there for book 2!
Thank you to the author and Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press for the eARC via Netgalley. My opinions are my own.

I LOVED this! It is beautifully drawn and the story is captivating and kept me wanting more. Camille is a likable and interesting character that you can't help but root for. Mundt does a great job at fleshing out her backstory and letting the reader know exactly where she is coming from. The family dynamic is very interesting and I am looking forward to reading volume 2 and learning more about the Severin family.

I loved this graphic novel. It isn’t perfect, sometimes a bit hard to follow, but overall a great, intriguing story. I loved the art, which feels perfect for the story. Didn’t realise it was queer when I started reading it, so that was a nice surprise. And it’s always fun to read a mystery about families, and why a community might be the way it is.
Really look forward to reading the next one! Recommended for those who likes mysteries and secrets, a dark past sprinkled with some lovely light.

I loved this book and am definitely anticipating the sequel I hope Camille get all the good things she deserved and her terrible aunt gets locked up because I think she started the fire that killed her mother.

*Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for a copy*
This graphic novel was so good! I loved the art style so much, it reminds me of like 2000s cartoon style for some reason? And it was SO CUTE. I loved it!
The story itself is the beginning of a coming of age story, and I’m so intrigued to what will happen next. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENSSSSS!!!

his graphic novel is SO pretty! I loved the way different styles of witchcraft were presented, and the setting in New Orleans. I feel like this one did a great job of introducing us to the characters and world and setting up for future volumes. I was engrossed all the way through it and connected easily with the characters.
Thanks to Miranda Mundt, Clarkson Potter, and NetGalley for the chance to read and review! I can't wait to pick up the next volume!!

"Muted" is a great new graphic novel by Miranda Mundt. It follows a young witch, raised by a powerful family. She had a tragic childhood where nothing seemed too good or enough. In this first volume she learns more about her true powers and more secrets about her family.
The art is gorgeous. The storyline is gripping. This is definitely a series I will be following!

Super fun graphic novel! Can’t wait for the next one after the ending. Felt like it could have had more depth.

You're drawn in immediately by the intricate and vibrant art and kept engaged by delving into the complex and intriguing witchy world that the characters live in. There's so many nuanced relationship dynamics and Camille's development is already promising so far. Volume #1 establishes a great story foundation and leaves you wanting more. So ready for the romance subplot to develop more, as well.

Beautiful art style, incredible world building, and a fast paced interesting plot! I really enjoyed this, and would definitely recommend sitting down and reading this. I was so enthralled by the plot and art that I read this volume in one sitting!
I will say that it was a little difficult to pick up on what was happening at first, bit that was resolved pretty quickly and could have homestly just been a learning curve.

I really enjoyed this graphic novel, this is my first read from Miranda Mundt. The art style felt very fresh to me and I thought that there were several standout feature moments.
This story takes place in New Orleans and follows Camille as she uncovers more and more about her past and the diverse world of witches. I found a lot of the characters to be fun and the pacing kept me on my toes.
This is a queer friendly story, with a strong female protagonist, what is not to love. I encourage folks to pick this one up because there are so many characters to meet (familars included!) and it will have you rooting for Camille, looking forward to the second volume!

I honestly had no idea what this book would be about going in. The cover art is what drew me in, and MAN am I glad it did! I immediately was drawn into the family dynamics while also picking up on some not so subtle hate/resentment from the aunt. Each secret that was revealed just prompted more questions! I have so many theories and I can’t wait to see if any of them turn out to be correct.

This was a very good graphic novel. I really enjoyed the story, and I especially loved the art style! The world-building was also amazing - I appreciate a magic system that is really thought through. I can’t wait to see more of this story, to see what happens next.

This book had everything I wanted from it. The artwork is beautiful. Many of the character designs are so hot. The plot was suspenseful. Solid introduction to a world I’m so excited to emerge myself into.

Thank-you to NetGalley, Ten Speed Graphic and the author Miranda Mundt for this eARC.
This is my first time reading Muted, a graphic novel, which was published through Webtoon webcomics and I absolutely loved it. I saw sapphic witches and I had to read it, and it delivered. I was immediately enthralled with the story; Muted Vol. 1 evoked feelings of joy, sorrow, and grief. We follow Camille Severin, a 21-year-old witch, who is facing her childhood trauma head on as she tries to find her purpose and role in life. She struggles with feeling like an outcast, as her magic and place in the family does not feel right. Camille journeys to uncover family secrets about her lineage and makes strong connections along the way. I was entranced by the characters and tension between them. I found the societal matriarchy and magic system for the witches very interesting. The plot was unique, fast-paced and easy to follow and I’m looking forward to continuing the series.

Thank you to the publishers, NetGalley and the author for providing me with an e-Arc in exchange for an honest opinion.
A witchy, sapphic, heartwarming yet dark at times graphic novel, full of family secrets and cute familiars. This was a joy to read!
I loved the bits of lore we learn from each family and how they're portrayed through color.
Very excited to read more of this series and see how the romance unfolds!
I highly suggest you check the trigger warnings before diving in the story.

I've read so many graphic novels that were so lackluster in the story department that I didn't go into this with the highest of expectations, and maybe that helped bump it up from a four to a five-star read. But this was genuinely a fantastic read; I loved the characters, I loved their dynamics and I loved the story and the world-building. The magic system isn't very rigid and it's not explained in much detail, which won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it worked for me. What I wish had been explained a bit better is why Camille was so scared about others knowing about her dual heritage, because for a while it really seemed like her panic over it was way overblown. But overall a great read with nice art and good storytelling.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC, this did not have any impact on my review or experience.
This was very enjoyable!
I am a sucker for witches (especially sapphic ones) and the art was absolutely gorgeous. Also a sucker for the word ‘princess’ in a sapphic setting.
The plotline is very mysterious with lots a of magic. The characters in the book are also very diverse and all have a special charm to them. The plot is also very fastpaced.
I’m excited to read more, as I’m now dying to see how the story goes on.

Over a decade has passed since the fire that claimed the lives of her mother and sister, Camille Severin has reluctantly returned to her childhood home where it happened. Under the strict eyes of her aunt, she and her cousin conduct their family's ritual to be the potential matriarch. Only the result of Camille's ritual has spilt some family secrets and sends her on a wild journey in this coming-of-age graphic novel.
All the characters are well-written and feel solid. Camille is a strong protagonist and I'm excited to see where her journey takes her. The plot is well-paced and feels solid as well. There really wasn't anything I didn't like, this story gripped me like a bird-of-prey's talons.
The art is lovely, and well-drawn. It flows like water when in Laminar flow. I would definitely recommend this graphic novel, especially if you're a fan of witches, magic and sapphic romance!
I eagerly await the second volume.

I love this beautifully crafted world! The dynamics and relationships between families, friends, and foes were so wonderfully intriguing-paired with such a gorgeous world. I can't wait to see experience the deeper development between characters and more world building in the next installments. The art was so adorable!
