I usually love K.L. Slater and I purposely only selected this book to read for my ARC at this time. Unfortunately this one was slow to get going and I find myself struggling to resume the book. I hope to finish the book and give a rave review soon.

I really enjoyed this book. It has a good storyline that had me hooked since the beginning. It has different povs, and will keep you guessing the whole time. I will be reading more from this author.

Such a great book. Couldn't stop reading it. Thank you for my advance reader copy. Can't wait to look up other books from this author.

I will say up front that if multiple POV's are not your thing, this might be a slower paced book for you. That is not my issue so I soar through every single page. The author kept the writing easy to follow, even from character to character. There was a multitude of characters with no issues following each character through the plot. The novel was filled with twists and turns across every chapter, that left me questioning the end. I love guessing the ending and pride myself on guessing the ending and the whodunnit. I genuinely had absolutely no clue of what would come at the end and was shell shocked upon finding out. I look forward to hearing this on audiobook as well, to see if this book can hold up in audio format through multiple POV's.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC Kindle read.
3.5 stars
This story started off slow for me. One of the main characters also has A LOT going on in all aspects of her life. Once the secrets and twists started coming though I was loving it. Almost a sister vs sister vs friend betrayal triangle going on throughout. Definitely a SLOW BURN. The writing is done so well...it was just a bit drawn out for me. There were several characters and 2 POVs which may have also added to the slowness of it all. I did not see the entirety of the ending coming but it did start to become predictable.

Cue the creepy music because there is something very strange going on in this story. The story is told by multiple points of view and goes back and forth between the past and the present all building up to a revelation that will knock you on your behind.
This wicked, psychological thriller will keep you guessing and will also keep you up late into the night. I just had to get to get to the bottom of this mystery.
Prepare to be blown away.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The premise of Message Deleted sounded so intriguing to me…..missing family and a deleted message that could help solve the mystery of what happened.
The story is slow-burn with the pace picking up towards the end. The author did keep me guessing, trying to figure out where the author was going with it.
If you enjoy reading a story full of affairs and infidelity….this is the perfect book to read.
If you are a psychological thriller fan….this would be a perfect read for you.
With that said…..I could not find one character that I liked. I literally disliked every character in the story. Which hardly ever happens to me.
Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

While the story is engaging, I felt that the pacing was uneven, and the book could have been trimmed down to make for a tighter, more impactful read. I did enjoy the overall plot of this book.
The plot twist is well-executed, with subtle clues woven throughout the story. Although I did predict towards the end the direction it was going and who would be involved , it didn’t take away from my enjoyment—the way Slater unraveled the final reveal was still satisfying. However, the buildup felt a bit slow, and some sections dragged, making the book feel longer than necessary. The second half picked up significantly, delivering a compelling conclusion.

This book kept me on the she of my seat waiting to find out what happened to Leona and her family. I did find the characters to be unlikeable but in a way that worked for the purpose of the story. The ending tied everything together nicely and I found it satisfying. Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the arc!

I look forward to all everything Slater publishes. I can always count on a suspense novel which will satisfy my thriller/suspense needs.
When Saffy receives a text message from her best friend Leona, she drops everything to go to her friend. A message that sparks anxiety “Can’t speak…don’t text or call… pls just come”.
When Saffy shows up at her door, her best friend insists she is fine and she DID NOT send the message!!!
What the HECK!!! A short time later the police let Saffy know her friend and her child is missing….
Get ready for a wild, suspenseful and scary ride.

I really liked this one. Lots of twists and turns and it was very fast paced. A very quick and easy read.

Thank you net galley for the arc copy. over all I enjoyed it. I liked saffys character and was hoping since the ending seemed so long id get a happy ever after with poppy and Harris. I liked the twists and turns through out the whole book. I liked how everything wrapped up although personally didn't need all the extra but it didn't take away from the story so I guess I didn't mind. i would totally buy and recommend this book.

This is a fascinating novel about two sisters, Saffy and Poppy. When Saffy's best friend, Leona texts her, "Don't call, come now" and then deletes the message, Saffy is concerned but gets no immediate answers. Vacillating between past and present, the novel details the sisters' relationships as well as the story of Leona and her family. The action never lets up and there are many clues dropped but you'll never guess all the twists and turns that keep your head spinning until the end!
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

MESSAGE DELETED was another winner by K.L. Slater, whose books continue to deliver twisty plots and suspense, while being relatable and super easy to read. This one jumped right into the action and was compelling from the start, and the resolution was satisfying and tied all the loose threads together.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review MESSAGE DELETED.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this eARC.
Message Deleted by K.L. Slater tells the story of Saffy who becomes anxious when (at an important job interview) she receives worrisome texts from her friend Leah who is in an abusive relationship. These texts are almost immediately deleted, but it sends the novel 's protagonist into action, and she immediately goes to Leah's house and finds nothing urgently alarming.
The story quickly becomes a mystery
which reminds me of the maxim, "no good deed goes unpunished" as Leah, her husband Connor and their child go missing and their empty house becomes a crime scene with their concerned friend a person of interest as she was the last one to see the family.
Slater does an excellent job ramping up the tension in this engaging mystery. What makes this story particularly intriguing is that an innocent friend is pulled in by the police in a scenario where she merely was showing concern for a close friend and her god daughter.
Another well-written book with engaging characters by K.L. Slater, a master of suspense when it comes to domestic psychological thrillers.

Message Deleted draws you in slowly but surely to the story.
Saffy is desperately trying to get her life back on track , she is quirky but loyal, believes if she tells the truth all will be well.
Her son, her sister Poppy and her best friend Leona are the world to her .
When she receives a SOS text from Leona she leaves a job interview to rush to her side but is puzzled when her friend says she never sent that message.
Then Leona and her family disappear in broad daylight leaving a trail of blood and being the last person to see them alive she is prime suspect number one.
Saffy desperately tries to find her friend and anything she can offer the police she does.
That wont ge well.
I got a little complacent and thouht I know where this is going but I could not be more wrong.
Twists and turns, red herrings kept me guessing and I could not help but cheer on Saffy well crossing my fingers she would make it out the other side.
Message Deleted is a quick fast paced read that will keep you reading to the last chapter .
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review Message Deleted.

This book honestly had so many twists and turns it had me hooked very early on. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. I always thought I knew what was going on, then would get a little further in and found out I was completely wrong and then would have another suspicion.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery/ thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat not knowing what’s going to happen next.
Thank you to #netgalley and K.L. Slater for allowing me to review this book early for an ARC ❤️

Message Deleted by KL Slater was a page-turner I could not put down as the story unfolded. Fast-paced with a twist I did not see coming! I really liked this one, but the ending seemed a bit drawn out once the twist was revealed. Overall, I enjoyed it! Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC. All opinions are my own. “Can’t speak.”
“Don’t text or call.”
“Pls just come.”
Saffy has severe anxiety and has lost custody of her son, Fox, to her ex-husband Neil. Her baby sister, Poppy, was attacked three years prior, and Saffy went to such a dark place afterwards that her husband left her and took their son, only allowing her to see him for a couple of hours a week. Saffy is getting better though; she’s been taking medication and has started working again. In fact, she’s at an important job interview when she gets those WhatsApp messages from her best friend. Then, she watches as they are all deleted.
Ditching the interview, Saffy rushes to Leona’s house, but her friend seems confused. She’s making dinner for her husband and child, and says she hasn’t sent any messages. The house looked normal, but Leona felt a vibe that something was wrong. She doesn’t trust Leona’s husband, Ash, and she wants to stay to make sure her friend is okay, but she has to pick Fox up from school. She leaves, gets her son, starts to make dinner, but then she hears someone at the door. It’s the police, telling her that Leona and her family are missing. Their house was in disarray and there was a substantial amount of blood…and since Saffy was the last one to see them, she immediately becomes the main suspect.
These aren’t words that I usually use together, but this is a very suspenseful slow burn mystery/thriller. While the book did feel drawn out a bit, there were several red herrings and plenty of chapter cliffhangers to keep the suspense going. There are a lot of layers to this book, and the author peels them back slowly as you read along. The more you learn, the more confused you may become until everything clicks in the end. It looks like this book was released by different publisher last year but is now being released again? I’m glad it is, because I got a chance to read it! 4.5 stars, rounded up.
(Thank you to Bookouture, K.L. Slater and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review. This book is slated to be re-released(?) on March 3, 2025.)

Thank you to K.L. Slater, Bookouture, and Netgalley for the e-arc copy of Message Deleted! A fast paced thriller with short chapters! It kept my interest the entire way through and kept me guessing at “who done it!” The twists towards the end of the book and the ending was wrapped up perfectly! This is my first book I’ve read by this author and I’m looking forward to reading more in the future! This book publishes on 3/3/25!
