This poetry collection delivers what it says it will, pairing Indigenous history and perspective along the lines of modern building such as roadways among others.

The poems are definitely 5 stars in terms of creativity, style, and placement. They get a little difficult to comprehend at times with mentioning more obscure and really specific places, but you can still capture the essence of the poems. If anything, it was interesting to see that invitation into these places you might not know if not from the area mentioned within the poem, but it still speaks to you on a broader level.

I really enjoyed the poem “A Massacre of Mourners” and it was by far my favorite, striking me from start to finish. I loved it.

Overall this is a unique, incredible collection with so many important sentiments in the Indigenous community that is presented in a revamped way so I will be recommending.

I loved the incorporation of so many Lenape words into these poems - and although then had me jumping back and forth from whatever piece I was on back to the glossary, honestly it helped me reflect more upon so many individual poems than I would have otherwise. Overall, I found this to be a beautiful little collection.
