Love the short stories. And the idea of so many mini stories in one book. Couldn't put it down. Thank you for letting me read in advance.

My first ever @netgalley read! And what a corker to start off with. This is the exact thing I was hoping to find with my account-amazing work by authors I may not have otherwise found. Thank you for letting me read this Arc!

This little book compromises of ten short stories that follow different women navigating life. We see loneliness, support, fear, danger, and more.
Some are sombre, leaving you pondering the message, and others are thrilling and diving into what I would consider horror.

Something I have never noticed before in short story collections that I felt for this book is that they are ordered perfectly. Without spoiling the content, I will say that the way they slowly grow in extremity, particularly in the first 50%, is absolutely wonderful. The authors ability to nurture that little seed of dread that women experience when you know that something isn't quite right is admirable.
Not knowing what will end in violence and what will end in a frazzling near miss leaves you on the end of your seat.

I noticed two stories connecting a non-main character, and it makes me want to reread and see if there are other connections between times, places, or characters within.
An easy recommendation for anyone who likes something as thrilling as it is heart wrenching.

The Hitchhiker: 10/10, that final sentence, the question we all ask ourselves, perfectly sets the tone for this read.

The Couple In 2b: SO creepy, absolutely wonderful-the exact feeling of dread and unease all horror or thriller lovers seek.

The Babylon Girls: I had to really think about this one, the tragedy was overwhelming-this is completely complimentary

Daisy Bell: Tense and tragic. A good ending, but still a tragic story.

End of the Century: One of the saddest things I've read. The feeling of dread and missed opportunities is huge

Where She Came From: I love how this shows that the timeline of a crime or violence is not just in the moment, how it lives on through to other generations.

Princess in the Tower: To me this seemed like a story about grieving what you never had-very moving.

The Future We Were Promised: Had me miserably gripped-that poor girl. The one I least connected with and still wonderful.

Yesterday Once More: Another heart breaking one, seeing someone who's mind is screaming out and simultaneously drowning.

This Time Tomorrow: WHAT a story to end it on. Wrapped so much up perfectly, the questions at the end felt like they wrapped up the themes and introspections of the book.
