I was able to get an eARC of Full Tilt by Emma Scott from NetGalley. I noticed that this book was originally released in 2016, but was being rereleased later this year.

Oh man. This book was brilliantly written and had me up in all my feels and ugly crying like no other. This book involves Jonah and Kacey.

Kacey was abandoned by her parents at 17 and is trying to find her way while being a part of an up and coming rock band. Jonah is an incredibly talented artist with one goal in mind. His time left in this world is numbered as his body is attacking his donor heart.

Kacey and Jonah’s paths cross and they become inseparable. This story chronicles their journey together in the few months that Jonah has left earth side.

This book was so moving. It was hard to read and I cried so many tears for these two amazingly brave characters. Emma did such an amazing job telling their story. I felt as if I was right there with them in the thick of it.

Fortunately, the second book is available on Kindle Unlimited so I am going to go right in and read that next. I sure hope that Kacey can find happiness once again.

This book isn’t 5 stars, it’s actually a million TEARS. I am an absolute mess after reading this. I couldn't even read the last few chapters properly because my eyes were filled with tears 😭 I should have known this book would wreck me the second I saw Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol on the playlist. Nothing good ever happens when that song is involved (ikyk). Going into this book, you know how its going to end, but it doesn't make it any less painful. This was a beautiful story about love, loss and living life.

“i would love you forever, if only i had the chance”

Kacey meets Jonah Fletcher when he is running out of time. They fall in love, bring out the best in each other and try to live life to the fullest before they're out of time. It's a beautiful heart wrenching love story.

This is one of those books where you finish and stare blankly at a wall trying to process everything. Will I ever stop sobbing? Probably not.

As a Las Vegas lover, I really enjoyed the Vegas setting and mentions of the culture and scenery.

Unfortunately that is where my praises for the book end. Ultimately I did not enjoy this one although it seemed so promising to be an emotional 5 star read.
The chemistry between the two main characters did not exist. Their insta love relationship felt so forced and not organic to me. Most of the romance was actually very cringey and awkward in my opinion.

I kept thinking to myself self- when do I get to the good part, when does it become addicting?
Overall I wanted to love this and no part of me had a good time.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Emma Scott’s Full Tilt is an emotionally gripping story that lingers long after the final page. It follows Kacey Dawson, a talented but reckless guitarist on the verge of fame, and Jonah Fletcher, an artist with a limited time to live. Their unexpected connection changes both their lives in ways neither could have imagined.

Kacey, battling her own demons and struggling with the pressures of rock stardom, finds herself in a downward spiral—until she wakes up on Jonah’s couch with no recollection of the night before. Jonah, who has already accepted the fragility of his future, offers her a temporary refuge, hoping to help her find clarity. What neither of them anticipates is how deeply they will impact each other. Their relationship, though fleeting, is profound, life-altering, and breathtakingly raw.

This book is more than just a romance—it’s a testament to the power of love, healing, and the beauty of fleeting moments. Scott’s lyrical prose captures every emotion with heart-wrenching sincerity, making it impossible not to feel every high and low alongside the characters. Jonah’s unwavering kindness and selflessness make him an unforgettable love interest, while Kacey’s journey of self-discovery is deeply moving. Their love story is intense, bittersweet, and utterly unforgettable.

Full Tilt is not an easy read—it’s heartbreaking in the best way, and it will leave you emotionally drained yet profoundly touched. It explores the idea that love doesn’t fix everything, but it can change you in ways you never expected. If you’re ready for a story that will break you and leave you in tears, this book is a must-read. Emma Scott delivers a novel that is not just about love, but about the impact of being truly seen and cherished.

I read this book already when it first came out years ago so I will not be reading again. I did love it at that time however. Emma Scott writes wonderful stories. Every single one is an emotional ride!

Full Tilt is a slow burn, friends to lovers romance. I loved this book and Jonah and Kasey’s story and could feel their love and friendship throughout the whole book. This was an easy read and I found myself excited to pick up and continue reading; even at the end when I cried like a baby! Emma Scott is a new author to me and one I will now look out for and add to my list of must reads.

Kacey & Jonah

This story broke me and I knew it would when I started it. Did I know when I read the blurb what I was getting into? Yes. Did that stop me? No

So many emotions in this book. Prepare yourself with a box of Kleenex. You'll find happiness,, sorrow, frustration and somehow there's hope.

No matter how much time you will love someone forever.

"You’re like Schrödinger’s cat”

The writing in this book was wonderful. There was so much healing and acceptance on the pages. The pacing was perfect, I never felt like it was going too fast or dragging, everything was exactly the way it needed to be. While heartbreaking, it was also beautiful.

This is a book that is sure to stay with me for years to come. Emma Scott’s writing and storytelling is poignant and beautiful. Her characters were well developed and the selfless love they shared for one another leapt off the page. The story was well paced and I was unable to put it down. I finished the book in one sitting.

After reading the second book in this duology I was able to look back and reflect at how well structured the storyline for book one had been written. The two books flowed together seamlessly. I thought Emma Scott’s execution of the two books was actually quite brilliant and unlike anything I have read to date. I highly recommended both books 1 and 2 to get the entire experience.

Thank you NetGalley, SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books and Emma Scott for an ARC of this truly beautiful novel, Full Tilt.

Emma Scott is a master. There are a lot of authors in this space but she always has a little more oomph than most of them. Emotional and tender without being simpering, great character development, flowing dialogue. Full Tilt is a great example of her craft.

Highly recommend.

Emma Scott delivers an emotionally devastating yet profoundly beautiful story in Full Tilt, a novel that lingers in your heart long after the final page. With lyrical prose and characters so vividly drawn they feel real, Scott crafts a love story that is as much about healing and hope as it is about heartbreak.

Kacey Dawson is a rising rock star spiraling out of control when she meets Jonah Fletcher, a talented glass artist with a quiet strength and a heartbreaking secret. Their connection is instant, intense, and life-changing. Jonah teaches Kacey what it means to truly live, while she shows him the beauty of love that transcends time. Their journey is breathtakingly intimate, filled with raw, unfiltered emotion that grips you from beginning to end.

Scott’s writing is exquisite—achingly tender yet brimming with passion. The chemistry between Kacey and Jonah is electric, but it’s the deeper emotional resonance of their relationship that makes Full Tilt unforgettable. This isn’t just a love story; it’s a story about purpose, sacrifice, and finding light in the darkest moments.

Perfect for readers who love heartfelt, deeply moving romances like those by Colleen Hoover and Mia Sheridan, Full Tilt is a must-read that will break you apart before putting you back together. Emma Scott has crafted a masterpiece of love, loss, and the power of living fully—no matter how much time we’re given.

Full freaking Tilt!!! How could I not give this book 5 stars. This book was absolutely incredible, moving, and I fell in love with Emma’s writing.

This book, at its heart is a beautiful story about sacrifice and being with someone until the end no matter what. Emma’s words her so emotive and the storyline was captivating, I could not put it down.

Full Tilt follows the love story of Jonah and Kacey. Jonah Is an artist with a beautiful soul and has a heart condition while Kacey is an upcoming rockstar, unsure of her place in life. Together, these two form a comfortable friendship which transpires into them not being able to stay away from eachother, even until the very end.

These characters were complex and strong, and their journey was one I am so happy I read, I felt their pain with them and it brought me to tears. The ending of this book was devastating but Emma delivered. Truly amazing!
