One of the original titles to be found in the burgeoning 'Invasion Fiction' boom of the early years of the twentieth century, The Battle of Dorking continues to be an oddly thrilling and engaging story, despite being written purely to scaremongering about a potential Prussian invasion of the British Isles. An interesting read both for historians of the period, and for those interested in invasion literature.
