This was very insta-love and just not what I was expecting. Plus her mentioning she’ll have to pick hair from her teeth after seeing him unshaved..yeah it’s a no for me because I was instantly turned off.

I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoy Murray's works. They're fun and put a different spin on romances. There always seems to be something unexpected or fresh in her plots. Getting Lucky was funny and enjoyable. Several mishaps occurred that made me laugh. There's also a wheezy, drooly Bulldog so that was a plus. A little insta-romance'y but it's a shortie so what do you expect? Darby's friends are truly characters that stand out on their own and I would love for them to get their own books.

The POV switches within chapters, which caught me off guard. That seemed to be an editorial choice but the name of the FMC and MMC were at the top so it was obvious and not a big deal. Just an FYI if that's a pet peeve.

Happy and cute, this was the story I needed. I enjoyed the fake dating trope and how Murray crafted the main characters. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

at 150 pages, i got through this in two evenings but could easily have devoured in one sitting. this was such an enjoyable read. i related strongly to the FMC and i too, fell for the MMC. i love a good meet cute moment and ultimately was sat giggling, kicking my feet and twirling my hair for it. it felt fresh and fun to read their quick witted banter. the epilogue was such a nice touch added on to the end too, i really liked the wrap up in that!

Cute story loved the whirlwind romance the changing of povs threw me off but all in all it’s a great book.

2.5/5 stars

I was quite hooked at the beginning and overall it was a fun read. Light, lots of spice, in fact you even have a shelter doggie. Not to mention that the main character is the perfect example of how a man can be cute and also super sexy.

However, I must say I was expecting more. There were some scenes that could've had a lot of potential and we didn't get a chance to see in first person! We were only told what happened and that was such a shame. I liked Finn a lot and his doggie too, but I needed more depth and complexity. If this book had been longer and things hadn't happened so fast, I would've loved it.

The setup to the book is very simple - Darby needs a date to her grandparents’ anniversary party and accidentally gets into Finn’s car outside a bar while drunk, thinking that he’s the driver to a ride she booked. (He’s not. And it’s not creepy because she’s with a group of her friends.) Instant chemistry, and they go on dates and hook up and by the end of the book they’re at the aforementioned party.

Hannah Murray’s books are fun and breezy and all her characters and locations feel lived in, and there’s very little angst. The dialogue is sparkling, and I loved that we got to experience two people getting to know each other and having fun at the same time. I always appreciate that Murray’s books are very well-written for the fun, escapist, sexy times that they are!

Third person, Dual POV, however the POV seemed to change mid chapter with no warning on occasion so it got a little confusing at times.
This was very insta-love, aside from the Epilogue the whole story took place over 5 days. This was pretty cringey throughout, which is not really my thing.

I’m usually bored with fake dating but this book was immensely charming. It was less fake dating than using a fake dating proposal as a meet cute. This book was so simple, but I was immediately hooked and devoured the whole thing in one sitting. Both MCs were cute, quirky, and sexy and I laughed out loud throughout. Murray remains a must read for me. Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the arc!!
