The Sound of Music movie evicts feel-good memories of my childhood. The storyline, the characters, the cast, and the setting blaze on in my mind. I jumped at the opportunity of reading The Sound of Music Story. It filled in gaps and gave reality to the dreamy thirteen-year-old girl who watched the movie play out on the large screen in San Francisco. If you are as big a fan as I am, you may want to pick up The Sound of Music Story to discover the background information surrounding the making of the film and the facts about the real people in the story. From interviews to behind-the-scenes information, Tom Santopietro fills you in on what you always wanted to know about The Sound of Music. He has done a thorough job of research. It's a satisfying read.
Thank you, NetGalley, for allowing me to read and review this book. My opinions are my own and were not required. The Sound of Music Story by Tom Santopietro. #NetGalley
The Sound of Music Story has got to be the most informative biography I have ever read in my life. . I went into reading TSOMS assuming I’d learn about a couple of funny moments on the set and possibly some facts about why the movie was made the way it was. I had no idea that meeting the real Von Trapps and understanding where they came to play in everything would be such an important part of TSOMS, nor did I realize how much history would be shared in regard to pretty much everyone who came into contact with TSOMS from start to finish.
This book delves into each real Von Trapp (childhood, homes, adulthood), on top of sharing a plethora of facts about the director, editor, screenwriter, costume designer, song-writer/s, actors, cinematographer, voice-dubbers and so on.
If you like The Sound of Music, if you like Julie Andrews, if you like anyone involved in Sound of Music in any way (or if you just want to know how The Sound of Music came to be in the first place), I guarantee you are going to want to read this book.
