This was so cute! I was melting the entire time. Yuu and Nagi are so good together. This entire manga just radiated warmth. Add to that the beautiful art style that just added to the softness - I was completely swept away.

This was SUPER cute! Set in college but very much a sweet first love story, and aside from the initial misunderstanding (they both think the other is rejecting them when they’re not) there’s basically no conflict. I’ll keep an eye out for volume 2!

This was so adorable and I loved it. Nagi and Yu are so cute together!! NOTHING BAD BETTER EVER HAPPEN TO THEM .

AHHHHHH Love on the Horizon is absolutely adorable! 😚.
Nagi and Yu are such a charming pair—they completely melted my heart with their cozy interactions 🤗😋. Their dynamic, filled with forced proximity and mutual pining, had my toes curling the entire time. The story is executed beautifully, and the artwork is just as captivating 🫶. It's sweet, swoon-worthy, and impossible to put down. I can’t wait to read more about these two lovelies! 😍🥰.
📖 A heartfelt, delightful read!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC

Thank you to NetGalley for this arc.
How cute! My heart is so full after reading this. Adorable slowburn friends to lovers. This felt very human. I squealed with happiness at the ending.

I will say, I do wish we had more of a backstory on the characters because it seemed like the story had already taken off at the beginning.
The illustrations were amazing and I loved looking at all of the characters on each page. The relationship between the two were adorable and I loved reading their story.

Thanks to both Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC copy. This has not affected my review at all, which are my own thoughts.
I'm 100% sure now that romance manga is a hit or miss to me. Not only BL, like this one, but any type of depicted romance😂 Anyway, LOTH was definitely better than other works I've read, but it let me confused and wasn't that groundbreaking.
But, first, what is “Love on the horizon” about? Well, two college students, Nagi Kitagawa, and his senior, Yuu Yamasaki, who also lives next door to Nagi. And Nagi may or may not be harboring a romantic crush towards Yuu, but these feelings get more defined and the boys start to get closer after an eventful night, where Yuu gets drunk, Nagi takes him home and they end literally sleeping together because Yuu doesn't let go of Nagi. And so it goes toward a beautiful relationship, or so they say.
And it does, it does. Such is the point of the romance genre, after all. And since this one is quite short, I don’t want to say much more about the plot and, instead, let ya’ll find it out. But, I will comment on the romance and why the mentioned “confusion”; though I’d say is more with promises and the fact that this is not a standalone volume than with the romance itself.
It’s cute, they communicate, their relationship develops slow and steady… As I said, probably one of the healthiest relationships I’ve seen in BL manga in a while. I’m not saying there’s not conflict, but they get through it together talking and getting to middle ground. Until they get together, in a romantic relationship and it’s all color pink around.
And that’s my complaint. If they already get together, they achieved a happily ever after and are lovesick with each other, what’s going to happen in next volumes? So, my complaint is that, if they get together in this first volume, and there’s nothing wrong with a fast-paced romantic story, at least end it hinting to some future conflict.
Anyway, it may not look like it, but I enjoyed Love on the horizon. The characters are relatable, their chemistry palpable and the plot, though thin, engaging.
Do I recommend it? If you’re just in for the romance, then sure, it is a good read, entertaining and with a well-built romance. If you’re looking for more, maybe this is not the manga for you, just like it happened to me.

This book had a great plot with intriguing characters. I’ll definitely be looking out for more from this author.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. At first, I was a little put off by the whole sharing the bed while drunk thing, but it was handled okay. The plot was incredibly fast. They like each other yet know nothing about each other. I don't think that it should have been a slow burn, they should still know some things about each other. This BL does not do what most do where they make one a submissive feminine one nor did they have an unnecessary "rivalry" with a female character, so I will give the author props for that. The sharing a bed and forgetful dream trope has been done various times, this time I think it was done extremely well. The plot was just too rushed. We have no time to feel anything for the characters. Nami especially has no originality or personality. Hopefully in the second volume we can learn more about him!

These two are just so cute. The story was so good and the art work is stunning. Nagi and Yuu are so cute!!! They have real connection and they’re just so wholesome. The confession to the first dates was adorable. I can’t wait to see what else Machi Yamashita writes.

Love on the Horizon is a cozy BL manga that was a quick read but one I enjoyed massively nonetheless. The two main characters are both likeable and mesh together quite well, the art style was really nice, and I liked the side characters. I do hope there are more volumes so we can see how Yuu and Nagi grow together and overcome challenges together, especially any college challenges. I had a smile on my face the entire time and am eagerly awaiting the rest of their story!
Also, as a queer person, it was nice to read a nice queer manga without blatant homophobia being their big overcoming challenge from the git-go, because that's not the only issue we face in life and it can get very stagnant just to read about that. We deserve to have more books like this.
Thank you to netgalley for the arc!

This book was like a breath of fresh air to the bl genre, this was so good I couldn’t put it down, and I’m excited for the next book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC. My opinions are my own.
The two main characters are neighbours, they go to the same college/high school (?) and start to develop feelings for each other.
So far, the characters haven't gotten any development. They are the same, kind of two-dimensional, pretty bare. A canvas you can say, with space to grow. I didn't dislike them, I didn't like them either. To me they were a means to an end for the story, wheels to keep it moving. At least they are until getting a little more traction.
Pacing is really quick. Things happened between the characters really fast, and I am unsure if there is going to be more than a single volume considering where the story is currently at.
Story is also fine. Mostly character focused. Nothing special, but it is cute and gave me my typical "badumps" when supposed to.
Naturally, this is intended for manga readers. Even more specifically, those who enjoy LGBTQ manga, as this is a central theme. Young adult, slight adult? There are adult themes, but nothing to censor so to speak.
For now I am giving this 3 stars. If it gets more volumes I might read them, but I need to know if there are any proper storylines and not just two men being sweet on each other. A little more tension would be nice.

Nagi finds himself helping his neighbor Yu get back home after having too many drinks at their university club event. After some fumbling and sleepy embraces, Nagi finds himself slowly falling for Yu. Yamashita beautifully captures the stages of falling for someone. There’s little drama but a lot of pining with some angst mixed it. Loved the lightness of this story and overall a cute, quick read.
Thanks NetGalley and Kodansha Manga for the arc!

Love of the Horizon combines a gorgeous art style with a wholesome story of two neighbors and schoolmates. Nagi and Yu are neighbors and are also part of the same club at their university, this means that whenever Yu gets too drunk to get home Nagi is there to help him back, the only problem is that Nagi is head over heals for Yu. Are Nagi's affections one sided? Will emotions come to light?
This story was so cute, I had a great time reading it. The characters were likable and didn't fall into some typical BL tropes that seem to be everywhere. I will 100% be reading on in their story and I'm excited to see where it goes.

This was so cute! I loved the characters and their friends, all trying to figure out what is happening between the two boys. I loved this one a lot, there were some very sweet moments! I cannot wait until the next volume!

I felt addressed by the cover and the blurb also sounded interesting.
I got a sweet gay romance with feel-good character.
This manga left me very relaxed in the end and with a smile.
Nagi and Yuu are likeable to you from the beginning.
In addition, the drawing style is not only beautiful and equipped with some quite detailed hinders, the author also manages to transport emotions very well without overdrawing them.
And I also liked the panelling very much. It felt dynamic, as if a film was taking place before my inner eye.
Definitely a book that will be remembered. I would like to read it to your heart! I enjoyed it very much.

A short and cute BL! I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to read a quick feel good romance🥰 It’s closed door, so don’t expect a spicy read. But it does give us a small peak into the intimate moments & it was drawn so wonderfully!

This romance was so simple and cute and I just loved it! Nagi is just so innocent and awkward it made me fall for him too. You has an adorable slightly naive streak too. This was a great quick read and makes me want to read more about them!

Super cute! It flowed so naturally and I loved them. I hope there is more from this author as this was really sweet.
