This is a lighthearted standalone story - I’d say one shot type but over actually one volume; the main story is completed so I suspect v.2 is either extras or some side pairing, I cannot say I am interested enough to continue. The art was the best kind, handsome and emotionally evocative, character design slick, the story without much drama in it, but simultaneously without much tension either.

I would love to read more from this world 🥰
The drawings were so beautiful too all throughout 😍

Very cute! Looking forward to seeing more of the characters. The friend groups were fleshed out, and I thought that their art majors were a unique touch.

This was really cute and sweet. Definitely lighthearted with no drama. Both MCs are adorable to the point you want to carry them in your pocket to keep them both safe lol. It got a little spicy toward the end but still close door spice. I liked the progression of the relationship, sometimes you dust want something fast paced and wrapped up in a single book. This was perfect.

I picked up the ARC of this because it was called "perfect for fans of My Ultramarine Sky, Number Call, Given, and The White and Blue Between Us" on NetGalley. I have loved and hated some of these titles. So I wasn't too sure what I was getting into.

I will say that this is a BL that is very cute and wholesome with no dubious consent, which I wholeheartedly appreciate. I really liked that we could see both sides of the story and how these characters felt about the other.

However, some of this happens before the story starts and so I didn't feel like I got enough development for my liking. It was very cute, but I was just wishing for more.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing the E-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A quick but adorable and wholesome BL. This is perfect if you're looking for something short and sweet. The art is great, and there's so unnecessary drama—just lots of fluff and some heat. ;)
Thank you Netgalley for this e-Arc

This was such a cute lil romance manga, perfect to get me invested and back into reading after a slump! It was so adorable and I hope I can grab the next volumes soon!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for the copy of the e-book!

This title surprised me because I expected it to be a typical BL story and it does give that vibe. However, it shifts to being a very wholesome series about two people who like each other but are unsure if the other will accept them. In Love on the Horizon, we follow Nagi and Yuu both college students and neighbors. Nagi immediately falls for Yuu after their first encounter and willingly supports him when he is drunk and needs help to get home. While he thinks his crush is unrequited, Yuu is also contemplating his feelings for Nagi and not wanting it to break up their friendship. This volume was a quick read and I am intrigued to see how it continues to develop the main relationship. If you like BL stories without smut, this will be the perfect read for you.

Love on the Horizon by Machi Yamashita
Such a sweet low angst read. I really liked the art style and loved watching Yuu and Nagi navigate their feelings for each other. There was a barely there misunderstanding which is quickly resolved. Overall just a heartwarming, cute read.

This is a cute romance. I enjoyed it. I will say I didn’t care for how quick they were to fall in love and everything. I enjoyed it thought and this was a super quick read!

Perfect manga for those new to BL! Very wholesome and sugary sweet, features to MCs that are so obviously in love with each other!

If you love blushing boys, first dates, a bit of humor and very minimal angst, I definitely recommend this one to you! It’s not reinventing the wheel or doing anything new, but it offers a soft respite and sometimes that’s enough!

I’ll definitely be checking out volume 2 !

To say I love this series is an understatement. I initially stumbled upon this manga last year when it was serialized in Chinese. And of course, it was amazing. Nagi Kitagawa and Yuu Yamasaki are super cute and reading about them warms my soul. I've reread it at least three times now and I still love it... undeniably one of my top BLs! If you enjoy...
- giggling randomly/in the middle of the night
- blushing/gushing like crazy
- internal screaming
- slice of life

Then this manga is for you. I had no idea it's been officially serialized in English until seeing it on netgalley. Since I've already purchased all the available volumes in Japanese and Chinese, I will definitely be getting the English hard copies. Thank you so much to netgalley and Kodansha Comics for providing the arc in exchange for a honest review. All opinions are my own.

its just very cute. Nagi and Yuu are neighbors that go to the same college. They both develop feelings for each out and start to date. Nagi is quite innocent as it is his first relationship and this is Yuu's first relationship where he had strong feelings for the other person. It is very cute and not necessarily a ton happens but its adorable to watch them grow in their feelings. The extra was the best part of this volume it was sooo cute and kind of reminded me of me with my partner.

Love on the Horizon by Machi Yamashita: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️My first ARC review from NetGalley!! I am a massive fan of all things manga, webtoon, manhwa, etc. This was one of the more wholesome reads I've had in a very long time; no drama, no second guessing, no third act breakups, no miscommunication tropes, just pure love. This art style is one of my favorites and I can never get enough of this. The eyes say everything we cannot and this proves that very saying. Plus it doesn't hurt that I'm a sucker for guys with long hair and golden retriever vibes. It was just so cute-- I can't wait to read the rest of the volumes and I hope there's twenty more where that came from. 🌅🍜🤍 #netgalley #loveonthehorizon #machiyamashita #manga

Love on the Horizon 1 was absolutely adorable and had the perfect mix of sweetness and spice! The MM romance was heartwarming, and the pacing was spot on. The characters were so endearing, and I’m excited to see where the story goes next! Can’t wait for more!

This was adorable! From the very first page, Love on the Horizon pulled me right in with its warmth and tenderness. The relationship between Nagi and You is sweet, a little awkward (in the cutest way possible), and full of that quiet, aching kind of yearning that makes your heart squeeze.

And the art! The delicate, expressive style perfectly captures every emotion—every glance, every touch, every unspoken feeling between them just hits. It makes the story feel even more intimate and heartfelt.

If you love BL romance with a soft, dreamy vibe, don't miss Love on the Horizon. Highly recommend for anyone craving a sweet, feel-good love story!

👬BL Manga
🎒University Students
🏡Neighbours
❤️First Love

What I Liked
1) The art style was really cute. The shot of their date was absolutely beautiful and the illustrator really shows their chemistry.

2) Them being neighbours and showing up at each others door remind me so much of She Loves to Cook and She Loves to Eat which is one of my favourite mangas

3) The experience of navigating first love and sex gives such Heartstopper vibes

What I Disliked
1) There is a situation where the MC ends up sleeping in the love interests bed when he takes him home when he's drunk and looks after him and its just a bit weird consent wise. However, it is shown later in the manga that it seems the love interest was aware that it was happening and was fine with it. It still was just a bit icky to me though.

Thank you to Netgalley, Kodansha Comics and Machi Yamashita for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
