It was very cute and sweet but everything went too fast, I feel like we don’t know anything about the characters and the sex parts are censored the lack of character development isn’t even balanced by the story being spicy but utterly it’s nice and adorable, just not deep.

This was such a cute read! I live for yearning, the way Nagi was yearning for Saki scratched my itch in just the right way. The characters were cute and relatable. And I really really like the art style of this manga! It's really beautifully drawn and the atmosphere and vibe were just great! I really enjoyed every second of it!

This is a cute little love story of how Nagi Kitagawa fell hard for his friend Yu Yamasaki. And y’all. I DEVOURED this manga. It was so friggin cute and sexy. It had me blushing and swooning.

Seriously. I’m so happy right now. These two were absolutely ADORABLE. Both a bit awkward, both a bit naive, and both crazy about the other.

I loved how even though both had never been attracted to another male, they just went with it and so did their friends. This story was a warm, sweet, sexy hug and I can’t wait for more!

The artwork on this manga was nice. It also displayed well on my e-reader when others have had issues with formatting and panel displays.

The story is pretty lighthearted. You have two young men who are neighbors and take notice of one another. At first the crush appears one sided, with Nagi being more invested and conflicted with their feelings toward their neighbor Yuu. Nagi is quiet, reserved, and portrayed as a "country bumpkin" in the big city type who is away from home for the first time while attending university. Yuu is more exuberant, popular, and a few years older than Nagi. Gradually things change in their relationship dynamic after Nagi helps Yuu get home after a night of drinking too much. You never quite know why Yuu continuously gets sloppy drunk and needs help getting home, but Nagi seems to always be the one designated to help Yuu because the pair are neighbors. That portion of the story aside, this is a pretty light hearted manga about following your heart. The character development was a bit light for my liking, but I had a good time reading it.

Love on the Horizon is BL and it's not really even that bad. For many, this is probably sweet and cute and whatnot, but for an old yaoi witch like me this offers nothing new. Nagi Kitagawa is in love with Yuu Yamasaki and they live next to each other and go to the same college. Nagi helps drunken Yuu home after a party and the guy ends up kissing him. Then they are like "feelings or not", next misunderstandings and afterwards shy dating that neither seems to handle. Sigh. There's literally nothing happening in the manga and it lacks depth. The characters feel like kids even though they are in college and there's no psychological aspect, none so ever. The story is lukewarm and easy - we don't get to see sex or anything, so mild and safe.

The art is quite basic, there aren't backgrounds enough and our guys don't really do anything. This is slice of life perhaps at its worst and best - if you like it, you surely like this. I've read too much to enjoy this anymore, but for a novel BL reader this is probably a great love story, cute at last.

"Love on the Horizon: Volume 1" by Machi Yamashita is about two college students named Nagi and Yamasaki. Nagi is madly in love with Yamasaki but is terrified to tell him. Their relationship grows as you get further into the manga!

The manga is cute and heartwarming! I love Nagi and Yamisaki and the artwork of this manga! I read it in one sitting, and I can't wait for volume 2 to come out! Volume 1 is available now! If you love BL manga, you will love volume 1 of "Love on the Horizon"!

Thank you, NetGalley and Kodansha, for allowing me to read this amazing manga! I gave it 4 out of 5 stars!

It’s a cute BL Manga but not much happens. I would appreciate some more depth and development but I’m interested in reading more.

It was SO CUTE! The artwork is amazing, and absolutely adore this concept of next-door-neighbors falling for each other. Their friends are also amazing and I can't wait to read more of this series!

I'm a sucker for friends to lovers stories and this one was so cute!

The plot is quite simple, just two neighbours and friends who fall in love with each other. The big part of the story is that the elder one often gets so drunk that the younger has to drag him home, and a few times he's pulled into bed with him. That part was okay. But at the beginning of this manga, he actually wasn't pulled into bed by his friend. He just slept there without others' knowledge, and then he denied it... For me, it kinda ruined the cute vibe their relationship had. I still enjoyed it a lot, but that felt really gross.
The other thing that I didn't like was how being drunk is used here as a plot device. It was a little lazy. But maybe I'm being too picky.

The art style was great. I really liked it (the height difference between the characters ❤️). Easy to read and understand.

Thank you Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for the arc.

The summary is exactly what you get.

If you like insta-love, not beating around the bush, and sweet BL, this is for you. Insta-love is not my cup of tea, so that really hindered my liking this comic.

We are immediately thrown in and the summary helped understand what was happening. I think the order of the events could have been better set up to flow better. Then it was just a fast track to Yuu and Nagi getting together. They are sweet and I would have been more invested in this relationship if they were developed more as well as their relationship. We got more of Yuu’s character with his interactions with his friends but not much with Nagi; all we really needed to know was that he is shy and inexperienced, I guess. I wish there was more to Nagi than just getting together with Yuu, especially because he’s a first year in college. At least with Yuu we saw that he was able to like someone romantically and seriously in comparison with his past relationships and attitude. The first volume should have been a set up for their characters and friendship before diving into a romantic relationship.

Thank you so much to Kodansha Comics for providing me with the ARC of this book.

This was your average BL manga, but I eat it up every time. I liked the pacing of the book. The relationship did not take too long to develop, but it was not rushed either. I like the couple and their cute, short story. It was an easy read to get out of a manga slump, and I would recommend it for someone wanting something short and sweet.

Thank you to Netgalley for the Arc in exchange of my honest review.
This is my first time reading manga. I didn’t even know how to read it and had to go back at the beginning once i understood how it worked. It was like those awww so cute kind of story. There wasn’t much to it They met, they feel in love, they dated. And happy ending. I liked it nonetheless. I will read the second book. Might have found another genre that i like.
Fav character: Nagi and Yuu
Fav moments: when Yuu got drunk and was hugging Nagi and didn’t want to let go.

Love on the Horizon volume 1 is a fun BL manga about university students Nagi Kitagawa and Yuu Yamasaki. The two boys are very obviously into each other but it takes a while for them to figure it out. They have easy chemistry and I enjoyed reading this volume. Thanks to Kodansha Comics and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Okay but this was cute! A bit fast as l'm used to more of a slow build. The relationship and watching both characters learn how to be vulnerable for the first time was cute. Has some explicit scenes as an fyi which I liked but just wasn’t expecting when I started it.

Love on the Horizon has such a simple premise but it works. It's a college-aged dream: senpai definitely notices you and conveniently you're next-door neighbors. I do appreciate how organically their relationship developed. Unfortunately it's all so cute and fluffy that I wonder what's in store for volume 2.

i really loved the art, the main characters were adorable, however i wished there was more development and angst before the confession.

It's a cute story; no unnecessary drama, no “on page” +18 scenes, and no deep discussions, but very well-rounded. It doesn’t need any further story, really, this "volume 1" can be read by itself.
The protagonists, Yu and Nagi, aren’t anything spectacular, but they fit together from the very beginning - and having absolutely nothing that gets in the way or prevents them from starting or maintaining a relationship makes all the difference. As I said: zero drama, in every sense.
The art is very simplistic, but it really matches the protagonists’ personalities and the plot itself.
I was confused by the timeline of their relationship at first because the flashback mixes with the present events, but nothing too incoherent.
In short, it’s VERY short but cute. A well-made basic cliche.
