I requested this book as an adult who wants to learn the ukulele and I think it was really helpful! It's super basic because, you know, it's for children but I learned some things that will help me with my lessons.

This book makes playing ukulele (and the guitar) much easier and fun.

This is an excellent resource for younger kids wanting to learn the ukulele.

The book helpfully starts with a ‘getting started’ section covering the basics: how to hold the instrument etc, it also includes the song list in the section.

Next we dive into how to tune the ukulele, then without further ado we dive into the art of strumming! Spoiler alert for newbies - there is more to this than you might think!!

One chord songs follow - these include widely known children’s songs such as ‘ten in the bed’ and ‘farmer in the dell’. As the book progresses it moves into greater complexity with 2 and 3 chord sings.

Lots of great advice is given around how to teach kids the ukulele to ensure motivation and progression and common mistakes to avoid.

Overall this is a great book to guide an adult through how to teach a child to play the ukulele.
