A young girl find out her mother was a genie that was imprisoned for falling in love with her human father and goes on a rescue mission in this graphic novel perfect for 8-12 year old readers.

I think young readers will enjoy the fun, fast paced, and colorful graphic novel!

The illustrations were cute, and the concept strong. The book even had a pretty good balance of text and art! There is a lot of promise here, I'll certainly be keeping an eye out for this one to see how it does when it comes out to see how the kids are receiving it.

The story starts with a young girl Avery who tries to learn magic as she feels alone and wants some excitement. She stumbles on a lamp that she tries to light, but a little creature-herald- comes out of it and tells her she is granted three small wishes. Avery later finds out that her dad had the lamp before and fell in love with the genie in it-who is her mom.

The concept is amazing. I love Gribblet and the concept of having a herald -they are just there to announce what the lamp does because the genie had enough of doing it themselves?!.

It was adventurous, cute, and heartwarming. I loved it and would give it 5 stars!!!
