This story just gives all the hallmark cozy rom com vibes! It's even better as an audio. The slow build up and tension between them was chefs kiss. I loved the esl students, the difficult world of editing. The writing is great. Overall a really feel good great audio book.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc and alc!

Melissa Ferguson has done it again with another adorable romance! Seriously if you are looking for a light and fluffy romance this Valentine's Day (or any day of the year really), I highly recommend this book!

Furthermore, Karissa Vacker is fantastic (as always with the narration) and I loved how she brought Bryony and Jack's love story to life!

This book is available now at your favorite local bookstore!

THE PERFECT ROM-COM is a light, entertaining read with charming characters and a few funny moments. While it has its sweet, feel-good elements, the plot feels predictable at times, it was still an enjoyable read. A cute, breezy escape for anyone looking for a light read!

🎧AUDIOBOOK REVIEW 🎧
Thank you NetGalley and Nelson Thomas Publishing for the ARC

3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have read several book by Melissa Ferguson and have enjoyed them. First of all I enjoyed the audio. The narrator was good I enjoyed her voice and the way she embodied the character. It flowed nicely and I enjoyed the audio aspect of the book.

As far as the plot and book goes it was good wasn’t my favorite wasn’t not my favorite. The beginning as a little slow and it took about 50% of the book to get me hooked. But all together was a cute story just a little slow.

I think it’s fun to enter into the author’s mind and see their take on what the writer’s journey may actually look like. In this case, we are introduced to Bryony, a neurotic ESL teacher & author who is hoping that her first pitch is finally going to be picked up. This pitch is essential for saving The Bridge Refugee and Immigration Services, so when she keeps getting rejected at the Writers Conference, Bryony reaches for her last chance and seems to fall short when dealing with agent Jack Sterling. However, with her parting comments, Jack notices Bryony’s way with words and this interaction translates into a ghostwriting partnership.

I know absolutely nothing about ghostwriting, but if the relationship between an author and the ghostwriter is anything like it’s portrayed in this novel, that sounds absolutely miserable. It’s only the strong friendship, aka one sided relationship, between Bryony and Jack and the hope that Bryony’s initial manuscript might still be published that is making all of this worthwhile.

As always, the course of romance novels doesn’t run smoothly, but the uniqueness of the conflict in this one is too interesting to spoil - enjoy reading it yourself!

If you’re listening on audio you are in for a treat as well - Karissa Vacker does an excellent job narrating this book and bringing the right amount of emotion and depth to the characters. She is always a must listen for me!

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy!

DNF after ch 4, 24% (2hrs 14mins) into the audiobook. This isn't romance or a romcom! It is women's fiction. Hate DNFing ARCs/ ALCs, but this is false advertising. I am uninterested in the heroine's journey - I need more romance.

I want to start by saying I enjoyed the audiobook narration.
Bryony is an aspiring author trying to sell her novel about her grandmother and the place she works teaching English to adults. she meets Jack, a literary agent who instead of helping her with her manuscript hires her to ghostwrite for a popular author. Two years later, she is still writing books under someone else's name while still hoping her book will get picked up. This book has some parts that I enjoyed like the character of Bryony and her grandmother and the Bridge where she taught English. Where the book falls apart for me is with the love story and love interest. Jack is kind of the worst. He is not very supportive of Bryony's book or her career but is instead more worried about.making money and also lies to her a lot. I wanted to like it but alas it is not the perfect rom com.

i really don't have much to say about this one. it was cute, and fun, but a very simple story of wannabe-author-turned-ghostwriter who yearns to be known under her own name. nothing about this book really sparkled. it wasn't bad, it just wasn't anything special.

Enemies to lovers, forced proximity, swoony goodness in this latest from fav author Melissa Ferguson that sees a best-selling ghostwriter aspiring author falling for her literary agent while struggling to get her own book sold and published traditionally. I really enjoyed this slow burn single POV, romcom full of heart, humor and an epic grand gesture. It was good on audio read by fav narrator, Karissa Vacker that's perfect for fans of books like Emily Henry's Book Lovers. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review. This is definitely a new favorite for me by Melissa Ferguson!
