The Nanny Share by Emily Shiner is an absolute rollercoaster of a psychological thriller. From the very first chapter, I felt like I was piecing together a jigsaw puzzle, with every twist and turn revealing a new, shocking piece of the story. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the narrative flipped again, keeping me completely hooked.
The suspense in this book is relentless. Secrets are revealed like earthquakes, sudden, intense, and completely shattering. Each revelation pulled me deeper into the story, making it impossible to put the book down. The characters are layered and unpredictable, and the tension builds masterfully, leaving you questioning who to trust.
Emily Shiner has crafted a dark, gripping tale that fans of psychological thrillers will devour. If you love books that keep you on edge, second guessing everything, The Nanny Share is an absolute mustread.

So good!!! This book had me on edge, I had to know what happened to the kids…. Where they were. And woah all the red flags, and she’s just got her rose colored glasses on…..

lots of twists and turns throughout the whole story and kept me guessing until the end. i love a domestic thriller with tons of drama and this was definitely that. i found myself feeling a little confused and overwhelmed with the amount of people/POVs but once i got it i was able to follow along easily, narration was great!

This is a gripping psychological thriller that I read in a day! None of the characters can be depended on as trustworthy, so it’s a guessing game of the secrets & villains. A fave author, Emily Shiner’s latest is one to add to your TBR!
Ashley Rose Kaplan did a great job voicing the different characters in each chapters!
Thank you, Emily Shiner’, Bookouture, Bookouture audio & netgalley, for my early gifted copy & audiobook! All opinions are my own.

The Nanny Share by Emily Shiner starts with an intriguing premise but quickly loses its grip. The characters are largely unlikeable, making it difficult to invest in their fates, and the novel is bogged down by relentless, almost mechanical reminders that everyone has secrets. The plot meanders so much that the central mystery—two missing little girls—often feels like an afterthought rather than the driving force of the story. By the time the overly dramatic and somewhat implausible ending arrives, it’s hard to feel much satisfaction. While the book has moments of tension, it ultimately fails to deliver a truly compelling thriller.

Emily’s books are addicting. I devoured this one in less than a day. I’m not always down for nanny thrillers, but I couldn’t pass up on this one.
Two of Julie’s charges go missing the same day. Best friends Nealie and Emma’s parents wake up and find both girls beds empty. Detective Kate is on the job to try to find the girls. She discovers an awful lot about the two families in the process.
I didn’t like any of the characters. They were all pretty despicable. Sometimes I struggle with books where the characters bug me, but this one still kept me thoroughly entertained.
Ashley’s narrations was fantastic. She did a great job voicing all the characters and I loved getting the multiple POVs.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ALC of this book.

The Nanny Share by Emily Shiner, an audiobook narrated by Ashley Rose Kaplan is a gripping mystery thriller with a shocking twist. And by shocking twist, I mean SHOCKING TWIST! I seriously gasped out loud!
This book will grip you from the very first chapter. Everyone looks guilty, everyone hiding something, and no one can't be trusted. Up to the very end, I didn't have any clue what was happening!
When four-year-old Emma and Nealie disappear from the rich, gated Blackwood neighbourhood there are more questions than answers! One thing is clear - this can't be a stranger! So who did it?
There was always another possibility - they wandered away. But in this case, they must be somewhere. But where?
Chapter by chapter new secrets will be revealed, each secret will raise more questions.
Ashley Rose Kaplan has done such good narration that I was literally lost in this book! It is a perfect combination of a good book and a fantastic narrator! There were some parts where I could not believe that there was just one narrator!

This was an interesting thriller. The narration was good and definitely added to the story. I like that the story is told from so many perspectives and each of them carries some pieces to the overall puzzle that the reader will get slowly as it goes. I had a hard time with all of the characters being fairly despicable and I didn;t think the story moved quite as quickly as it could, but it was overall fun. Two little girls, best friends, disappear in the middle of the night. The neighborhood is chaos as everyone searches for the girls, but the two families are tied in secrets that hinder the detective’s hunt for the girls. Overall I gave this one 3.5 stars rounded up because it was a fun puzzle to detangle.

*ARC review*
This book was amazing! 2 children from the same neighborhood go missing and everyone is a suspect. I enjoyed the secrets and lies between the characters and the darker elements that were explored. The twists kept me engaged and I loved to hate the characters. This was my first read by this author but it will not be my last. Looking forward to reading more!

When two little girls disappear everyone panicks. This book will have you twisting yourself to try to see what's coming next. I wasn't a fan of the transitions. In this one it always took my mind a minute to catch up but overall a good thriller.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW
Review for 'The Nanny Share' by Emily Shiner.
Well, Well, Well, Emily does it yet again!! I genuinely don't think she can make a book that I don't love!! Love, love, loved this book!!!! Absolutely gripping edge of your seat page turner!!! I mean just HOW HOW HOW can an author make each and every one of her AMAZING books EVEN BETTER each and every time???!?!?
This book is extremely well written with vivid descriptions that really set the scene and put you in the storyline. The cover and synopsis suit the book perfectly.
The storyline was captivating and addictive from the first page until the last and I was completely invested in it. It was absolutely rammed full of lies, secrets, family, tension, drama, twists, suspense and everything you could ask for in a page turning psychological thriller. I just could not stop reading this absolutely addictive book from the first word to the last. Emily's extremely talented and evocative skills really brought the book to life and I was completely absorbed throughout. I lost count of the amount of times I promised myself one more chapter but that one finished in a way I just HAD to know what would happen next so I said just more and this went on and on until I ended up finishing it in one sitting!!! The location and atmosphere was absolutely perfect for this gripping thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I absolutely love Emily's books and am guaranteed to be shocked every time I pick one up which is not an easy feat considering how many books I read a year so a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS Emily!!! One of the things I love about her books is that they can also be quite thought provoking and always end with MASSIVE BOMBSHELLS that I absolutely love and never do see coming. Emily's evocative writing drags you deep into the storyline from the first sentence to the very last and will keep you up until the very last word! THAT ladies and gentleman is a true sign of an absolute must read. I absolutely loved the ending which was definitely an unexpected twist which is just one of the reasons I love Emily's books, she manages to get me every single time!! I've said it before about Emily's books and I shall say it again!! I would absolutely LOVE to see this turned into a movie and would wait up all night to get tickets to watch it!!
I hope your busy writing your next book Emily as I just cannot wait to see what bombshell twist and explosive storyline you have up your sleeve for us next!!!!
Do not start this book until you have cleared your schedules as you will not be able to put it down!!
The characters were all realistic and strong and I was completely invested in them throughout. I love the fact that we got to see what was happening from multiple protagonist perspectives of Alison, Carrie, Kate and Julie so you get a much bigger picture of everything that is going on!! Emily weaves all of the chapters together with perfect timing until it all comes together with an explosive BANG!! It also explains absolutely everything which leaves no question unanswered at the end which is a pet hate of mine!! It also leaves you questioning what is really going on and gets you thinking more and more the deeper you delve into the storyline. Emily's multiple person perspective also really helps the reader understand the characters more making them more realistic to the reader. I was completely invested in all of the characters throughout and Emily's evocative descriptions really makes them jump out of the book and come to life in front of the readers eyes. All of the characters were multi layered with complex personalities which definitely made them all the more interesting to read about!!! Unfortunately, I really can not say anymore as I don't want to spoil it for future readers. I had no idea what to think of the different characters, what was really going on or where it was all leading which just goes to show what a talented author Emily is and I cannot wait to get hooked into her next psychological thriller which is guaranteed to be another page turner!! Regardless of what I thought about who, each character worked perfectly to make this page turning psychological thriller!!!
Congratulations Emily on yet ANOTHER huge success. This is the exact reason why you are in my favourite 5 authors list!! Here's to your next guaranteed success 🥂!!
Overall another absolutely unputdownable, action packed, intriguing psychological thriller that will keep you up at night on the edge of your seat with a pounding heart from onw of the best psychological thriller authors EVER!!

This was fantastic so many twists it worked well and kept me so intrigued and I needed to continue to find out if the girls were found and who did it. It worked well with one exception, I struggled with a plot point towards the end I know why it was done but didn't why. Apart from that it was brilliant, even the different points of view worked well and seemed to ratchet up the excitement.
The narrator and style worked really well.

The Nanny Share just hit stores today, February 21,2025. I really liked the story Emily Shiner wrote. There are multiple characters to follow, in which they all in some way intertwine. The story took place predominantly in one well to do neighborhood. I sort of figured out the twists ,but then again, I was not completely right!
The narrator did an excellent job.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys detective/ drama books.

I listened to the audiobook of the Nanny Share and it was a whirlwind!!
The narration was perfect with more than one main character it easy to keep up with the never ending twists and turns.
It was a great story, unlike anything I’ve read before it was a refreshing change although there was an awful lot going on. It was hard to keep up at times but it was a great story to unfold.
When you think you know… you don’t know!!!
Very good

Emily Shiner captures your attention from the start with an engaging plot that pulls you in. Two little girls go missing, and the frantic search begins. Where are they, and who is responsible? I thank Netgallery for the chance to read this ARC via audiobook. The narration is well-executed, though I would have preferred a male voice for the male characters. There's something lost when the female narrator simply lowers her voice a note to portray a man.
Shiner's writing is well-paced, and she develops her characters' backstories effectively. I would classify this as a psychological suspense book rather than a thriller. This isn't a negative—it features sinister characters who lie, cheat, and backstab, moments that keep you guessing, and a fantastic twist at the end. However, it doesn't quite reach the heart-pounding intensity of a thriller. Instead, it's an enjoyable and easy read.
This was my first book by Emily Shiner, and I liked it enough to want to read more of her work.

The Nanny Share
Emily Shiner
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Ah! So, you know that I'm no stranger to Emily's books now, having already read 7 ....and absolutely loving them all....so far.
Well, you'll be unsurprised to hear that I also loved this one too!
Emma and Nealie have gone missing from their homes in the gated Blackwood neighbourhood.
The girls were best friends before....but now the parents don't talk to each other.
The investigation begins and it seems that everyone is keeping secrets, even the nanny that both girls shared.
This was brilliantly laid out and we see the story slowly unfold through the different pov chapters.
With both mothers, the detective and the nanny all telling their sides of the story, it's up to us to work out what has happened to the girls and what other secrets are being held close.
This was so fast-paced and there was so many layers to the investigation.
All of the characters being connected in so many unexpected ways.
I really can't tell you too much else as I feel that everything I could say would be a spoiler and this was packed with twists that had my mind racing.
All of the characters were great to explore.
As each of their stories was told and more of their secrets were revealed, I found that I didn't really feel sorry for any of them - and had no clue which of them would have been responsible or involved with the girls' disappearance.
As things start to come together towards the ending, I still had multiple theories, but there were yet more twists to come and I was still shocked by the big reveal.
Brilliantly written as ever and totally addictive - I honestly couldn't put this down once I'd started.
Cannot wait to see more from Emily in the future - one of my favourite authors in this genre.
💕Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my ARC copy - this is my honest review 💕

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the digital copy of this audiobook; I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Who can you trust when everyone is lying about something? That question gets to the heart of The Nanny Share. The book is set in an exclusive suburb of Los Angeles, where some people are neighborly, and others are most decidedly not. Everyone, it seems, has something to hide when two girls from two different families disappear. This book felt a little bit like that TV show 24 in that everything that occurs happens in one day!
Alison and Ryan’s daughter, Nealie, has vanished. Down the street, Carrie and Daniel’s daughter, Emma, has disappeared as well. The two families used to be close but something happened to cause a rift. The only thing the families have in common anymore is that they both use the same nanny, Julie, who claims not to know where the 4-year olds are. The police are called.
This book is told from multiple POV: both sets of parents, Kate, the lead detective, Julie and her boyfriend, and a mystery person who is receiving texts from someone posing as the kidnapper. Kate wants to know what happened to the families’ friendship, why were the girls taken in the middle of the night, and why and how the neighborhood’s surveillance cameras went down about the time of the kidnappings.
Everyone has secrets in this story, secrets that could shatter the facade that all is right in this gated community. There are several twists revealed throughout the story to keep the reader/listener engaged. Absolutely no one is likeable, yet the story is compelling enough that you just have to find out what happened!
Ashley Rose Kaplan is the narrator of this book and does an admirable job of modulating her voice and giving each character a distinct voice. I would definitely listen to something with her performing again.

I found this one very hard to get into , I didn't love the narrator and it took me ages to finish this also. The overall story was good and was enjoyable but not my favourite audio book. I'm probably in the minority of not loving this book. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this audio arc.

Finally! My slog of recent reads all had me questioning if I'm just incapable of enjoying books any more. Thank goodness for Emily Shiner. She's a favorite author who understands how to write a good domestic thriller. The Nanny Share had it all - affluence, young toddlers, fast pacing, twists all wrapped up nicely in a well done audiobook. Always read Shiner. Best advice I can give to readers who enjoy a fun ride.

Wow...okay, I've been looking for something good and twisty and unpredictable for months now, and I do believe I've found it! The premise drew me in right away...two girls whose families share a nanny between them disappear in an affluent neighborhood. The secrets, underlying motives, skeletons in closets, and bizarre behaviors are just the tip of the iceberg here! I try not to figure every detail out because it spoils the flow for me, and there was no issue with this one. Even when I thought all the secrets were out, the final blow comes out of left field. I can see this one set up nicely for a sequel...and I'll be there for it if so!
I found the narrator to be very charming and capable of capturing all characters and genders, even a Southerner without grating on the listener. She really enhanced the story.
I've read Shiner's Three Drowned Girls and now I really must explore the rest of her library.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARL. All opinions are mine.
