Oh my goodness... wow, I did NOT see that twist coming at the end! This book was so fast-paced and twisty. It was totally gripping and kept me on the hook the entire way through. I thought I had figured it out about 2/3 of the way through, but nope! I was totally wrong. It's such a great book, and I'm looking forward to checking out my books from Emoly Shiner!

I really enjoyed this book. It was fast-paced and kept me intrigued. The twists were a great added bonus. Thank you for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook. The narrators were great and it was a fully immersive experience with the different characters.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and Bookouture Audio for gifting me both a digital and audio ARC of the latest psychological thriller by Emily Shiner, with the audio perfectly narrated by Ashley Rose Kaplan. All opinions expressed in this review are my own - 4 stars!
Julie is the nanny for two little girls from different families in the exclusive Blackwood neighborhood. The mothers were best friends until months ago, and now don't speak. But when the little girls go missing on the same night, everyone is suspect.
Wow – what a twisty tale this was! My mouth dropped quite a few times. Everyone has secrets – everyone – and it’s suspenseful waiting to see what will happen to the missing little girls and just who is responsible. Told from multiple POV, all of the characters fall apart in different ways when the girls go missing. A quick read – always look forward to Emily Shiner’s books!

I really wanted to like this book. It had all the ingredients to make a great suspense novel, but sometimes too much of a good thing can ruin a recipe and that’s how this book felt for me. I didn’t like a single character; they were all pretty crappy humans and were carrying so many secrets each that it was hard to really get into the story. I enjoy multiple POV books, but this one just had too much going on for me.

The Nanny Share by Emily Shiner is a gripping psychological thriller full of secrets and twists. As two families share a nanny, tensions rise, leading to a shocking conclusion. A must-read for thriller fans.

Thank you NetGalley for this audiobook ARC!
Two four year old girls go missing from 2 separate families in a wealthy neighborhood. They have the same nanny. Is she involved in their disappearance? Where did they go?
I thought the narration was well done. This was a quick read and had a lot of twists and turns. Some of the twists I guessed, others were surprising. Overall, I thought the story was okay. I would definitely read another book by this author.

Emily Shiner (favorite author) returns following Meet the Parents with her twistiest thriller yet, THE NANNY SHARE.
When two little girls go missing in this exclusive neighborhood, the only connection seems to be the Nanny they share. But it gets more complex. Get ready for a WILD roller coaster ride where everyone is hiding secrets, and no one is as they appear.
You will never guess how all the players are connected.
About...
Welcome to the exclusive gated Blackwood neighborhood. The nicest community in town, and mostly everyone is a doctor, a lawyer, or a trust fund baby.
Two mothers, Alison (Ryan) and Carrie (Daniel), were best friends until three months earlier.
Their four-year-old daughters, Emma and Nealie, go missing.
Not one but two missing girls on the same street.
What is the connection? Is this a coincidence?
The one connection is their shared Nanny, Julie, who is also in a relationship with Theo. This relationship adds a layer of complexity to the situation, as it raises questions about potential conflicts of interest and hidden motives.
Kate (Detective Martin) is on the case. For three years, she has been at the Rockridge department after moving to escape the big city life of Los Angeles. Kids in Blackwood do not go missing. What if every parent's nightmare came true? Was this an inside job? They are innocent little girls, not teens.
The ongoing mystery.
Whodunit it?
Who has the girls?
Where are they?
The motive?
Who is the psychopath?
Who is the orchestrator?
What if they can choose only one girl?
Who will be left standing?
But someone has to pay for their sins.
My thoughts...
Oh, my, THE NANNY SHARE is a riveting and twisty psychological whodunit cat-and-mouse domestic thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
Shiner shines with her skillful misdirection and unreliable narrators. With unlikable characters, you will have to decide which is more despicable. You think the book is going one way, but BAM— the author keeps adding twists, layers, unexpected turns, and surprising twists, making this a complex and layered suspense thriller.
Told from POVs: Alison, Carrie, Julie, Kate, and Ryan, everyone is hiding secrets, leaving the readers to suspect many. An anonymous texter adds to the suspense by sending cryptic messages to a character, further complicating the situation and leaving the reader guessing about their identity and motives.
Fast-paced and full of action, each wife and husband is hiding something, and the nanny and her boyfriend are not exempt from this. The husbands, in particular, play a significant role in the unfolding mystery, as their past actions and current behavior raise questions about their involvement in the girls' disappearance. And, of course, the nanny and the boyfriend. What about the wives? Is this a revenge plan gone wrong?
We know something went wrong between the husbands who previously worked together. When something happened, the wives were no more extended friends.
With short, snappy, clever cliffhanger chapters, the author keeps you hooked in this multi-layered, complex game of cat and mouse.
From blackmail, embezzlement, lies, money, greed, family dysfunction, revenge, infidelity, obsession, and dark secrets—when the past meets the present, it is explosive! Tension mounts as a sinister undercurrent runs throughout, and while the reader is privy to each narrator's thoughts, with an undertone of menace.
THE NANNY SHARE is a tantalizing suspense in which everyone's secrets lead to danger, murder, and a mind-blowing ending. Trust no one! Who is the biggest liar of all?
All these questions and more will be answered in this gripping psychological thriller. If you are looking for an entertaining popcorn thriller, you have found it. I am a massive fan of the author and think I have read all her books. You can be assured of being entertained by the queen of revenge plots.

Sometimes, even the best laid plans fail.
Two girls, two families, one crime? When both families wake up on this fateful morning, both their four year old daughters are missing. Taken from their beds? Wandering off on their own? The only thing they have in common is the nanny and both families are harboring secrets.
With multiple POVs, this story bounces between each character in the story- and the narrator expertly differentiates between them all. The nanny and her scheming boyfriend have their own agenda, one girls parents are struggling in their marriage while the other parents are hiding secrets from each other. There are so many avenues to pursue, you’ll never see the ending coming.
I really enjoyed how the author wrote the storyline, not withholding all of the bombshells til the end, but still wrapping up with a great twist. The only drawback was the large amount of narrators made it difficult to keep some of the story straight. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it required the readers full attention to maintain comprehension.
Overall, I enjoyed the story, the twist, the ending. The pacing was appropriate, the information provided throughout the story maintained the readers attention room and kept me wanting more. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the ALC.

Emily Shiner is a new author to me and I will be looking into other books she has written. The Nanny Share is a thriller that has many twists and turns. I enjoyed the narrator Ashley Rose Kaplan her voice is perfect for a psychological thriller and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I would have listened to this book from beginning to end in one day if I could have. Sadly life had other ideas but it was always a nice break from life when I got to listen to it again.
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for the ARC

Emily Shiner delivers a gripping psychological thriller in The Nanny Share, a novel brimming with deception, secrets, and characters you just can’t trust. From the very beginning, Shiner masterfully sets an ominous tone, keeping readers on edge as the layers of the story unfold.
One of the novel’s strongest aspects is its pacing—each chapter carefully builds tension while expertly dropping just enough clues to keep readers guessing. Shiner’s writing is sharp and immersive, making it nearly impossible to put the book down. The twists are well-executed, leading to an unpredictable and satisfying conclusion.
Fans of domestic thrillers and psychological suspense will find The Nanny Share a compelling read. With its well-crafted mystery and unsettling atmosphere, it’s a novel that lingers long after the final page. If this book is any indication, Emily Shiner is an author to watch—I look forward to reading more of her work.

The Nanny Share is now the fourth book I've read by Emily Shiner and she knows how to write 'em as it's also the fourth five-star!
Two missing girls. One nanny. Is she to blame?
This thriller is literally just a whole messy web of diabolical characters with hidden drama and features multiple twists along the way - of course I loved it! Purposefully written, there was only one character I enjoyed but I could always empathize with the others (to a point)! And right from the start, there was also only one character I trusted, not necessarily meaning that the others were unreliable, just very very untrustworthy!
I'm a big fan of how Shiner writes female characters! Having standout women to root for or against makes for a quick-reading thriller as I was always desperate to know if my hunches were correct!
Ashley Rose Kaplan delivered a believably emotional audiobook performance. Various voices were created for the multiple points of view, making it easy to get caught up in the unfolding drama rather than focus on remembering who's perspective a chapter was written from.
I can't wait to read Shiner's next release as I'm betting this five-star streak will continue!
(Please note: Shiner approaches this two-missing-preschooler plot with love - always mindfully and sensitively.)
Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and Bookouture Audio for the complimentary copies to read and review.

So so good! I was hooked from the beginning and listened to the audiobook in one day. I’m excited to read other books by this author!

This story takes place in Blackwood an exclusive gated community near Los Angeles.
.Story centers on Emma and Nealie, two four-year old friends who both go missing.
On a typical morning, Emma’s parents Carrie and Daniel Everett go to wake her only find their daughter gone.
On the same street, Nealie’s parents Alison and Ryan Brown also discover their daughter gone.
Both sets of parents call Julie Station the nanny they share!
These parents are not your ideal loving parents~ in fact it seems all the character have a secret they are hiding.
Little girls don’t just vanish in Blackwood. The police will suspect the nanny. The girls love their nanny and she loves them, and also has a key to both homes!
We find out that Julie and her boyfriend Theo have a side job they don’t want to the police to know about. Since Julie has access to the homes of the wealthy, they become victims as; Theo has done some research and is sure there are some unlawful secrets. So Julie looks around to see if there is something juicy so that they can do some blackmailing.
When the ransom notes are sent to the parents regarding the missing girls, Julie worries perhaps Theo has something to do with it. Julie would never hurt anyone especially the girls she loves.
Everyone except the little girls are nasty characters and have secrets and have done something wrong. Even Detective Kate Martin!
Ashley Rose Kaplan's narration is very good in performing most of this cast of crummy people. However, her portrayal of Alison with her screaming high pitched voice got annoying - certainly not a good sound.
This is my fifth story by author, Emily Shine, so I was expecting an entertaining read!
Most of the story was like watching paint dry but I knew Ms. Shine would come through and she did.
The ending was GREAT!
Want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for this audiobook.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for February 21, 2025.

First I love the narration. She did a great job. Some of this was predictable but I did not mind at all. The end is fun. I love the twists! I love hating husbands and cops so that made this fun too.

This was gifted by netgalley.
It's a multiple pov's.
It was a bit predictable from about the halfway mark.
Although it was a good story.
A lot of conversations between all the characters which keep you interested.
Twists and turns throughout.
The narrator did it justice.

This was some enormous rollercoaster. The twists and turns turns are huge! Two girls are missing and they both have the same nanny... it must be easy, well think again...
The author has an amazing ability to come up with twist after twist without it being too much. I really enjoyed listening to this story. They are a few suspects and they all have their secrets and thing they aren’t honest about. The end I really didn't see coming. I thought I knew what was going on, but boy, I was wrong.
The characters are well described and you get this eery feeling, right from the beginning, that they all have something to hide. You also feel it is something big. It is a fast-paced wild ride! There's not a dull moment in this book.
It was my first book of this author and it will certainly not be my last...

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 All the stars for The Nanny Share and two enthusiastic thumbs up for Emily Shiner!
In a prestigious gated community, two couples who were, until recently, the best of friends wake up to every parents nightmare.
Ryan & Allison are the parents of 4 year old Nealie.
Carrie & Daniel are the parents of 4 year old Emma.
Emma and Nealie are missing.
Julie, the doting nanny that the couples share is the current closest connection.
Everyone is lying. Everyone is hiding something.. even the detective on the case Kate.
The secrets are shocking. The twists are plentiful, and you'll be piecing this juicy puzzle together until the very end. The character's are so well developed, and even though they aren't the most likable people, I was so invested in their stories... their secrets.
I had the honor of listening to the audio ARC and Ashley Rose Kaplen did such an amazing job narrating multiple POVs and making each character distinct.
Thank you Netgalley & Bookouture Audio!

All I can say is…. Wow! This was crazy!!
There are two families, each with a little girl, four years old. The girls and the parents are/were best friends…until a few months ago…and then it all fell apart.
Strange thing is, they both have the same nanny.
So, when one girl goes missing, and then the other is ALSO discovered as missing…well, to say it’s strange is an understatement…
And so the police start investigating…and then, all the little, small lies begin to come out… and soon, your mouth will be HANGING OPEN like mine was.
I did NOT see this one coming… and the crazy thing is…. The crazy stuff just kept on plowing right through!!
4 big ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!!
#TheNannyShare by #EmilyShiner and narrated nicely by #AshleyRoseKaplan.
Thanks so much to #NetGalley and #BookoutureAudio for an ARC of the audiobook. This is due to be released in a few days, on 2/21/25!! So, look 👀 for it then!!

This was great, had lots of twists and turns. The end of the book was the biggest turn I didn’t see coming. I do wish there was a male narrator as well. Because at times I would get confused of what chapter the pov was supposed to be.

Wow that was a wild book. There are many perspectives and twists I didn't see coming. I loved this book. The ending was insane and was not something I ever imagined would happen.
