Such a cute novella. I love all thing suspenseful romance, and I cant believe Abby got everything in this short story! That is truly an achievement. Typically the pacing is weird in novella, but this is perfect and left me wanting more. Julia Whelan and Connor Crais did amazing bringing this short story to life.

Perfect pallet cleanser, short but captivating till the end. This one has a slighter darker theme since it deals with a stalker but seriously a great message of resilience and taking the control back. I really liked this one, and it takes places around Valentine’s Day but it is not specific to the holiday so this can be read/listened to at any time. Check it out!

Charlotte has withered away the last two years, she left her job, moved apartments, hasn’t gone out and carried bear spray. All because of George, a bank customer who became her stalker. He took it to a new level when he threatened her life. So she’s done the only thing she can, take self defense classes and prioritizes her security over living.

So when she woke up at her new apartment to discover the stair to the second floor have been demoed she was relived. For this weekend she could breathe again.

Seth is an arborist but he’s stuck at home recovering from a broken foot. When he found out about the stairs he was excited this was a chance to meet the new neighbor next door. He had no idea what she had been dealing with and he made it his weekend mission to bring some normalcy back into her life.

Come join Seth and Charlotte for a weekend of fun and lots of tree talk.

Cute, short, and sweet with the typical Abby Jimenez charm! I think it leaned a little into cliches at times, but it was only as noticeable due to the length. The narrator's were lovely, capturing the characters perfectly.

The Fall Riskb y Abby Jimenez is one of those novellas that will stay with you long after you read it. It’s got humor, sweetness, and a touch of suspense that keeps things exciting all the way through.

The story kicks off over Valentine’s Day weekend when a construction accident leaves two neighbors stuck in their apartments—no stairs, no way out. Seth, the lovable arborist with a killer smile and eight-pack abs (yes, really), just got out of a messy divorce with his, uh, cousin-loving ex. Not exactly the greatest romantic track record, right? Then there's Charlotte, who’s spent two years living in constant fear of a stalker. She’s moved apartments five times, and now works from home while training herself in self-defense and marksmanship. Safe to say, she’s *not* looking for a relationship.

But then she meets Seth, and things start to shift. Despite her trust issues, there’s something about him that calms her fears. He’s sweet, patient, and genuinely cares about her well-being. With danger still hanging around, Charlotte has to decide if she’s going to keep running or face her fears for a shot at happiness with Seth.

This novella is such a quick read, but it’s packed with so much heart. I loved watching Charlotte and Seth’s connection grow, and their friends Izzy and Gabe? Total gems. They were like the supportive besties everyone deserves. Can't forget about the magnificent narrators who truly brought these characters and the story to life. 100% Recommend!!!

5 stars, hands down!

The Fall Risk was an absolutely adorable and charming short story that had me absolutely hooked. It was my first Abby Jimenez book and it won't be my last. How can she manage to put so much chemistry and make me fall in love with these characters in such a small amount of time just baffles me. I hate insta love… this was it but it wasn't, I don't get it. Jimenez has some true magical skills !

It was funny, filled with witty banter, it just had me giggling and kicking my feet. It also did have a serious topic blended with it, but it was the right balance. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be reading more from this author.

🎧 The narration by Julia Whelan & Connor Crais was amazing. They had the right tones for the right moments and the emotions, chemistry could be felt. I really enjoyed their performance and how they played the characters.

This author delivered another amazing romance with The Fall Risk, and the audiobook format makes it even more charming! This story was short, sweet, and packed with fun twists that kept me hooked from start to finish. It had all the swoony moments I wanted, balanced perfectly with humor and heart. I adored the FMC - such a strength and the way she took back her power. I am hear for it!

The narration was spot-on, with Julie Whelan bringing the perfect energy to the story and Connor Crais (who is always a favorite of mine) making the romance even more irresistible. Their voices fit the characters so well, adding depth and emotion to an already engaging plot.

If you’re looking for a light, romantic listen that will make you smile, The Fall Risk is definitely worth adding to your audiobook lineup!

So funny! I so enjoyed this short story! I loved that there was no spice in this one only strong language. The connection felt genuine and I would have loved it to be longer!

One of my most anticipated reads of 2025 is Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez. If she writes it I’m reading it. Abby can do no wrong and if you haven’t read her books yet please please pick up Part Of Your World Today!

This book is playful yet deeply emotional romance where one date is all it takes for two people to know they’re perfect for each other . . . until one of them moves 2,000 miles away the next day.

Abby has the ability to combine heavy real life issues with humor and Say You’ll Remember Me is no exception. A hottie veterinarian Xavier meets quirky Mustard hype woman Samantha and sparks fly. But can they survive a long distance relationship packed with familial drama?!?? The family issues hit home for me here and Abby nailed all the complex feelings when it comes to caregiving. I haven’t read too many long distance romance books but I think this showed the highs and the lows perfectly. Hunky caring Xavier is all in for Samantha and he now has my heart too. If you love Abby, long distance romance, semi instaLove and found family please pick this book up on April 1st!

Here’s a two for one…I have a review for the Fall Risk novella. A cutie arborist and his neighbor are forced to spend the weekend together when their stairs are demolished. This was such a fun listen. The narration was superb. Abby was able to include her signature serious topics with the whimsy of falling in love. Highly recommend picking this one up.

Thank you @readforeverpub for the E-ARC and @brilliancepublishing for the audiobook!

Loved this so much! It was sweet and short but had depth. Charlotte and Seth were adorable together. I want to read more about them! The audio was fantastic. Julia Whelan always does a fabulous job.

Literally my only complaint is that I wish this was a full book! I ADORED this short story & it was absolutely incredible on audio. Abby Jimenez is always able to take heavier topics and weave in humor and romance without making light of it. The characters (even beyond the main characters) were developed so well with so little pages. The banter was on point. The audio for this was TOP NOTCH. I highly, highly recommend it.

Short synopsis: When the staircase is mistakenly removed from the floor of their apartment over Valentine’s Day weekend, neighbors Charlotte and Seth make the most of their weekend.

My thoughts: Filled with Abby’s signature banter, along with some serious depth. I’m amazed at the story she was able to craft in such a short book! Abby always crafts such swoon-worthy moments, and characters that you can’t help falling for!

This was narrated by Julia Whelan and Connor Crais and they did a phenomenal job with it! The perfect little romance!

Read if you love:
* Forced proximity
* Strangers to friends to lovers
* Valentines Day Weekend
* Romances with depth

The Fall Risk is a sweet story that had suspense, a cinnamon roll hero and awesome secondary characters is a perfectly executed novella.

Abby was able to pull off a full story in a short amount of time and should come as no surprise to no one since she is an amazing writer. The romance between the two MCs had me invested and didn’t feel like it was instalove at all, which I greatly appreciate. I especially loved the seniors who made a quick but impressionable stop at Seth’s apartment. They had me laughing out loud!

Narrators Julia Whelan and Connor Crais were the professionals as they typically are and elevated experiencing this story for me. Their dual narration was not but perfection.

Thank you Brilliance Publishing for the alc. All thoughts expressed in this review are my own.

I went into this book not knowing what it was about and having no idea what to expect. I requested it mostly based on the fact that I recently discovered this author's work and LOVED it.

I expected a cute little Valentine's Day romcom - which it was - but it was also so much more. I was surprised by the amount of things that happened within the space of 90 min if listening time.

I really adored both main characters and the story drew me in right from the start. I love how respectful and protective Seth was. I also appreciated how strong Charlotte was as a character. I also found Seth's tree talk very endearing.

If you are looking for something short, sweet but something that still packs a punch, I would recommend this novella.

Also LOVED the male narrator of the audio book - I immediately went to search for more audio books narrated by them.

Probably one of my favorite novellas-- a lot packed into a short story. I really enjoyed the narration and plot line. Abby is simply the best!

Such a funny, clever novella with great audio narration, but then again, Julia Whelan always knocks it out of the park.. I wish it was a full length novel. The love story was surprisingly well done considering the short length, and Even the side characters popped.

This was really cute and I enjoyed hearing JW on the narration! I hate how short it was but this is my love-hate relationship with novellas. Abby always writes great stories with characters going through real things and I love that!

Short and sweet. Too quick though I want more! I just love Abby Jimenez so much and would read anything she writes

This is my first Abby Jimenez book and did I like it? Absolutely 💯😁
It was short yet crisp and clear focusing on romance aspect along with a sensitive topic which leads our female protagonist to change her lifestyle and home repetitively.
Our male protagonist was opposite to her yet comforting and healing all her wounds and traumas of the past which a total treat to read even though this was a short novella 😭 I wanted so much more of these two. ♥️
