Is it reckless for a master’s student to blur the lines with her hot, older professor—a legendary storm chaser?

I mean, probably. But it was hot as shit. I love it when the two MCs have that “I shouldn’t be flirting with them, it’s inappropriate” augment with themselves, and this book had it coming from both sides.

Their chemistry was great and the addition of Joey was great for some comic relief and to bring out our MMCs jealousy. The narrators were great and it was just a fun time all round.

All three narrators are amazing!! They all have such distinct voices and characters, and I love that this was a “duet” narration, so each narrator spoke all the dialogue for their characters regardless of which POV the chapter was in.

I didn’t know storm chasing was a ✨ thing ✨ and while I wouldn’t ordinarily pick up a professor x student romance, this was a fun & exciting book!

Thoughts
This was a really enjoyable read/listen! We have an action adventure romance involving tornado chasing, a forbidden element (he's the fmc's professor), and an age gap (42, 25)!

I loved the connection Finley and Ryder formed on their road tripping adventure. There were both pining HARD for each other, so when they both caved with their romantic feelings, it made it all the more satisfying!

The narrators and audio production were so enjoyable! The added sound effects of thunder, etc. really brought the story to life.

Do I wish there was a bit more romance and less adventure, maybe, but nevertheless, this was a very fun, fast-paced, and unique read.

This will be the movie in my head the next time someone mentions the last Twister movie.
Damn, these characters were excellent, and the secondary ones left me thinking "what happens next with you? I need to know” and I love that feeling when a book feels perfect but at the same time short.

The sounds that were added to the voices made it so easy to slip into this world alongside Riker and Finley, chasing storms, following the wind, and catching more than they had imagined.

The narration by Victoria Connolly, Grayson Owens & Robb Moreira, was so perfect that I could see the characters just by their tone, accent, and way of moving through the story before another character described it.

The pace was perfect, the adventure, the adrenaline made the steamy scenes fall at the perfect moment where the slow burn is about o burn everything. Just perfection. Now I have plenty of Kayla Grosse books to catch up on.

Saying I was excited to be chosen to listen to this book is an understatement. Ever since I read Axes & O’s I have been dying to get my hands on another Kayla Grosse novel.

I had so much fun listening to this because it was just soooo good! I loved the duet narration with all the cool sound effects. It added so much to the story.

I loved Ryker and Finley together! The way they were both willing to give something up to be together was beautiful! Obviously, I loved the spicy bits, but the connection and friendship they formed before they ever crossed the line was adorable.

Can we talk about Joey?! I loved him so much!! The quirky side character, the comic relief, the voice of reason, but above all else a good friend. I would love a book for him and Hawk. Actually, I wouldn’t be mad if we got more books in this universe.

Definitely check this one out!! It’s worth the read!

I received this alc from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I love that Kayla Goose has confident plus size fmcs in her books.
The narration really pushed this to a 4 star for me. There was not as much spice as her other books but still good. It’s more of an action romance. I was enjoying everything until the fmc decided to be difficult at the end. If a man is going to quit his job so y’all can be together you don’t argue with him!!
Overall this you’re looking for a professor student dynamic with a unique premise you’ll enjoy this book. Do your self a favor listen to the audiobook so you can enjoy all 3 narrators

I’ll be honest Twister vibes hooked me with this, I was a big fan of the original movie and ran to the cinema for the remake last year.

And this twister romance absolutely hit the spot, it was fun, spicy, action packed and did I mention totally forbidden! Professor / Student? Yes please, let’s be real that was my second hook!

I read this when it first came out, pretty sure the day it came out, then spotted it on NetGalley and requested the audio, I almost wished I’d listened to it before reading as the audio was absolute perfection, Victoria Connolly and Grayson Owens did a fantastic job and the fact it was Duet narration was the cherry on top!

After being recommended Kayla Grosse by one of my favorite reviewers, I picked up an ALC of this audiobook completely blind. I was not at all disappointed! This book blew me away (no pun intended). From the start, there was high tension between Finley and Riker. Both of them full of forbidden wanting and frustrated desire, this forbidden age gap was everything I love about the tropes. Add in the drama and action of storm chasing and I could not put it down. While I could have stood a little more groveling from Riker after he steps in it after their first time together, the romance was top tier and the spice just kept spicing. I’ll definitely be picking up more books by this author. I do want to note there were a few places in the audiobook where the silence between chapters lasted an awkwardly long time but the narrators themselves did an amazing job and other than the few times I was afraid my phone died or my headphones disconnected, it was very well-done.

What can I say about this except that it was a fun, spicy, age gap romance. Yes, this looks and feels like a Twisters fanfic but in a good way? This is not going to win any literary awards, but if you are looking for a fun time, look no further.

I also really liked the Dual narration and the added sound effects as I think it made the story that much more realistic. Narrated by Victoria Connolly; Grayson Owens; Robb Moreira who all voiced their parts wonderfully.

The narrators did such a great job the sound effects were an added bonus. Easy listen, pacing was good it kept me engaged from the start, I love the twister movie from the 90s I haven’t watch the new one. But the vibes are there.

Highly recommended you listen if you want something fun, and short with a little spice.

This was hella cute. Any fans of the twister movie are gonna love this. And Whirlwind is the perfect time for this book. I had a blast with this quick, sweet, and spicy audio. Processor/student, storm chasing, forbidden love, will they or won’t they, found family in a team, curvy body rep.

I LOVED this book!!!

I listened to an ALC from NetGalley and it was perfection. As always, Grayson Owens did a wonderful job narrating and I was in love with Robb Moreira's narration (I don't know that I've heard him narrate before now)

This story was so great. The plot was wonderful, the story kept me interested, and the spice may be some of Kayla's best spice yet!! The very first spicy scene had me sliding into her DMs to tell her she's a genius

This book was exactly what the Glen Powell "Twisters" movie should have been.

Grayson Owens as Ryker. Ryker, aka Tornado Daddy, is a professor by day and stormchaser by night who just so happens to be head over heels for his very off-limits, master’s student, Finley. Owens captured Ryker’s angst and turmoil over his forbidden feelings for Finley, and executed a raw vulnerability when Ryker “tried to do the right thing,” which was in opposition to what his heart wanted.

Victoria Connolly as Finley. Finley is an extremely bright student obtaining her master’s and is learning from her dream professor–the man she’s idolized since she started chasing storms at 15. Finley is independent, strong-willed, and always eager to gain more information, and Victoria did a phenomenal job projecting these qualities in her delivery.

Robb Moreira as Joey. Joey is quirky, lovable, and the definition of comic relief. Robb Moreira brought Joey’s larger than life personality to our ears, and you could hear Joey’s signature sh*t-eating grin through the teasing moments. Robb’s delivery brought a smile to my face and had me laughing out loud.

Can’t recommend this audiobook enough!

I thought this was cute! The narrators were fantastic and the storm chaser plot really filled the gap left by the Twister reboot from last summer. Sweet, spicy, and so much fun!

Absolutely loved this graphic audio! The different narrators and sound effects made for such an immersive experience. The story was relatively low-angst but the stakes were high enough that I didn't want to put it down! Definitely recommend picking up this book & any by this author!

A Thrilling tale about forbidden love, storm chasing, and tornado daddies. yeah, you heard that right! tornado Daddy. this is a hilarious romance, full of a whirlwind romance that blows others right out of the water! filled with hilarious banter, terrible puns, and amazing voice actors that really breathe life into the characters that your just going to love! if you loved the movie Twister, then this is absolutely a book your going to want to read, especially with all the steamy scenes. and I do mean steamy! not to mention some of the most amazing tornado descriptions, and the feeling of the thrill of the chase, and the adrenaline pumping hunt for the perfect storm. a delight to read, and even more of a delight to listen to!

What can I say? This book is definitely out of the ordinary. I found it to be creative and imaginative. Not a subject matter that I am used to reading, but I enjoyed it just the same. The chemistry between the characters was well written and definitely held my interest.

This was so much fun, I love a good age gap. It felt a hit insta-lovey but the duet narration was immaculate. I absolutely loved the sound effects. I literally jumped when the first boom of thunder hit hut overall, SO GOOD!

I absolutely loved the way that the audio was enhanced with sound effects for everything from storm warnings to knocking on the door. This feature made the story so fun to listen to! Victoria Connelly, Grayson Owens, and Robb Moreira each once again showed up with the amazing talent that they bring to any book I've listened to them on, and I was that much more invested in the story thanks to their portrayal of these characters.

As someone with a huge obsession for Twister and a big crush on Bill "The Extreme", I can absolutely say this book was definitely for me!

There's action, adventure, forbidden romance, age gap, humor and storms being chased! I honestly had a great time listening to this story. Like yessss it felt like I was with them chasing a storm and falling hard for the older professor. 🫠
The banter between Ryker, Finley and other characters was amazing. Gimme more chases with this team please!!
And it had the best side character ever... I am looking at you Joey 👀🙌😂

What made it even more captivating were the performances by the narrators and the sound effects. It had tornado warnings, loud cracks of thunder and windchimes. There were also three narrators with the third narrator for the side characters. The dynamic between the voices was so good.

It's an absolute favorite read and one of the best audiobooks of 2025.
