Simon and Chester are back after all that hullabaloo with the ghost catchers. I love that Simon gets a job, surprisingly, not, he immediately thinks the status of his job is more important than his friendship with Chester or the impact his actions are having on everyone. I loved the ending to this story and i can't wait to read the next installment in this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read in exchange for an honest review.
My 8 year old has recently become obsessed with this series. We read it together and he stated "Its so funny". Throughout reading it (multiple times) he kept pointing out the parts he liked. A definite winner!

Simon and Chester. has become a series that I recommend to friends with children, especially boys, who are in elementary school and may not be as engaged with the books that they have around them. I'm a firm believer in reading anything is better than reading nothing at all, but with Simon and Chester, I feel like they are getting enough written word for it to be a worthwhile addition to a family bookshelf. The characters are, as always, fun, and I find it interesting that it's almost always Simon who comes across as the immature one who needs to grow up. This book was no exception, as he took on the promotion but really didn't think through how he would actually help the other ghosts and what moving up in the organization would mean to his friendship with Chester. There was some element of how growing up means growing apart in the way this story evolved, but at the same time, it also really spoke to how friendship is thicker than, well, employment and that the bond between Chester and Simon was well worth fighting for.
I did miss the ghost busting family and Amie, but there is some implication that she will be back in some capacity in a later book. And (no spoilers) I found the interactions with Chester's grandmother particularly good this time around.
All in all, the book is a good read. Well done story. Well done characters. A lesson or two that are imparted in a way that is enjoyable and not hammering things over the head. And ultimately, a good addition to the series overall. It can stand alone, so there is no reason to read the other books in order before getting to #6. Sure, it helps to set the scene for some aspects of the story, but you aren't lost if you just jump in here without learning how the ghosts are loose.

This book was like a warm hug, and leaves you with the feeling that everything will be ok.
Having read all the Simon and Chester Books, as well as Sir Simon, Super Business feels very much like the first two. It was Chester finding his own voice with the problems that he was facing, and with Simon's oblivion to what he was doing (but always gets to the right result in the end).
The drawing style was the classic dress up and funny faces, but not over the top. The fact that there was one tactfully bum shot was also appreciated, and wasn't just there for a comic relief.
There were some laugh out loud moments from my 8 year old, and me getting a few tears at the conclusion (I don't know, I just thought it was really special, and the art style and the match ups, it was just a really special moment). This was a way to end a series (if it is the end) because it stayed so true to the main message of friend ship and helping out those in need.

Simon and Chester have such an amazing friendship. It is always fun to join them on their adventures. I love the theme of finding your place in this one. This book is full of empathy and other emotional intelligence lessons. I love how Chester advocates for his fellow ghosts.

Simon and Chester is growing in popularity in my elementary school library, and I can see why. I'm always excited for a new adventure with the two main characters. Super Business is more Simon-focused, as he gets a promotion into ghost placement. Unfortunately for Chester, that means a new ghost is moved into the role of haunting him. Chester is not prepared for Leo's style of haunting.
A fun addition to the series, with a twist at the end that leaves me excited for what comes next.
A must-buy for my school library.

Simon and Chester are working together to help with ghosts who got released from a trap. It was cute how grown up and responsible it was that they wanted to help and make sure everything worked out. There was a little surprise at the end that showed they're not so alone in dealing with ghosts. This was a humorous little early reading book. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

Cale Atkinson strikes gold again! I constantly recommend these books to kids at the library, and have even encouraged several coworkers to read them. This new addition to the series is going to be a hit! The same adorable illustrations, the same humor, the same not so subtle ghost butts, and a fresh adventure for our wonderful duo! Cale Atkinson's Simon and Chester series is a gem that never fails to brighten my day.
