Don’t Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine
Annabelle and James have the perfect life. She’s in social media, he’s a doctor, they have two beautiful daughters and live in a million dollar home. But when Annabelle starts having these wild dreams and they start coming true, it of course sets her on edge. Especially when the dreams start involving her family in some very scary & life threatening situations. While Annabelle delves into understanding and trying to stop these dreams, her daughter Scarlett uncovers a long lost family secret and is willing to go to any lengths learn everything about it.
The story kept me interested all through but the last third of the book is where all the action hit. Lots of twists and turns I didn’t see coming.

Liv Constantine’s “Don’t Open Your Eyes” is a mind-blowing psychological thriller that I couldn’t put down! The intricate and dreamlike story entangles you in a mysterious web of intrigue. A woman with the ability to dream the future is the protagonist. You won’t want to miss it!

l love a quick, Fast-paceed domestic thriller. This book was a perfect palate cleanser between heavier books. I loved that the plot twists were somewhat solvable, but just at the right time in the plot. Liv Constantine is an auto-read for me, and this book confirms that. Great vacation reads!

An excellent read for any and all readers! Author comes at you with both barrels and knocks you out of your shoes! Great job fleshing out all the characters. I give this book FIVE stars! Definitely recommend!

This was an easy read. It is an enjoyable pool or vacation book. Plot does not enter any new territory.

Liv Constantine does not disappoint, ever. I am a huge fan. It all started with The Last Mrs Parrish. I’ve been hooked ever since! This was so twisty and kept me on the edge of my seat! I was hooked from the beginning.

I love a good Liv Constantine book, and while this one wasn't my favorite of hers, it was highly enjoyable. Annabelle is a happily-married working mom whose life seems picture-perfect until she begins having dreams that start coming true. While the dreams seem outlandish, she cannot deny that their reality may change the way she lives her life, especially when she has a dream where one of her daughters is in danger.
There were several twists in this one that I didn't see coming, and the ending was very satisfying. While a couple parts didn't necessarily make complete sense, I liked how everything was resolved. The characters were well-written to me as well.

Thank you net galley and publisher for this ARC. This was another great Liv Constantine book, I couldn't put it down and loved all the twists and turns.

I did not want to put this book down once I picked it up. There isn't an easy way to summarize the plot of this book IMO, so I'll focus on a few things that stuck out to me.
The concept of one's dreams being possible premonitions of what's to come isn't new, but the clarity in which Annabelle was experiencing them was what made everything so intense. Also, having Annabelle dream events from other characters perspectives, such as dreaming her husband meeting with a woman in a hotel, added layers to the plot that readers normally would only get in a dual POV style book. Note: This is a multi-POV book, but James' POV is not one of them.
I love the way that Constantine develops characters and drops breadcrumbs along the way to allow the reader to attempt to solve the puzzle of the novel as they go. For example, at the beginning of the book, Annabelle and James come off as a picture perfect couple and even their origin story seems like a typical friends to lovers trope; however, if you're reading between the lines, you can see some of the clues that perhaps James is not quite the hero he portrays.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group Ballantine for the chance to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The book had an interesting premise. Married mother of two, Annabelle starts having confusing and stressful dreams, and they start to feel like premonitions. Annabelle starts spiraling the more it feels like her family is in danger, but she's not sure what from.
I think my issue with the book is the three different perspectives and the two different timelines. I'm not sure if all were necessary. There is one in particular I felt could have been removed, and it would have flowed well.
I kept waiting for the connections to like up so I could fully understand what was going on. I had one idea of what would happen, and there was a twist, and it was fun and entertaining to see things go differently than I expected. However, I felt like the antagonists were almost too evil and psychotic and it felt extreme. What happened was horrific and almost unbelievable because it was so bad.
I think overall the book was good but for me personally it wasn't great. It felt a little convoluted. The characters were frustrating. I felt like I got the answers I needed in the end, but I'm not sure if I was happy with the way everything unfolded. The writing was good, but the plot was what got me. I would still like to read more by this author, but this one just wasn't my favorite.

Ok, when I see a new Liv Constantine book it’s always game on….one of my absolute fave authors out there. Don’t Close Your Eyes was a good, suspenseful read, it will definitely keep you guessing. I am not interested or maybe believing of the supernatural, psychic, etc but thankfully this book wasn’t completely focused on that aspect. 3 narrators, two timelines but Annabelle, the main character & protagonist was primary & and rightfully so. This certainly wasn’t my favorite LC book but still an enjoyable read. 3.5⭐️, rounded up to 4 b/c whether I didn’t gel with portions of the book, it’s still by LC & that lady knows how to write. Grab it & enjoy!

From the opening line, the book seized me in its relentless grip, refusing to relinquish its hold until the final, breathtaking page. This wasn't just a good thriller; it was a masterclass in suspense, a meticulously crafted engine of anxiety that left me both exhilarated and utterly drained.

Nothing better than a Liv Constantine book! Nobody does a more addictive mystery thriller. When Annabelle starts have dreams that shortly become true we see her picture perfect life take a complete turn. Her picture perfect doctor husband is hiding secrets and her children and in danger. I had fun trying to figure out the twists and see where these dreams took Annabelle. Definitely recommending to fans of Frieda McFadden as Liv does it better! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC, the author, and Random House Publishing!

Annabelle looks like she has it all a wonderful husband, two wonderful daughters and a career that she loves. However she continues to have these dreams that something is going to happen to her daughters or her husband. Her husband acts like she has lost her mind and her daughters don’t want to be so tightly held.
I loved the way the story was told, the unfolding of it and everything that happened.
Thank you #NetGalley for the advance copy

Twists and turns throughout the whole books - while some were predictable, some were very well done. An enjoyable read I could not put down.

A new release from Liv Constantine is always a clear your schedule day for me and with Don't Open Your Eyes they proved exactly why that is! This psychological domestic drama was pulse pounding and intriguing from the start leading to an explosive ending. This is their best yet and I can't wait for the next!
This story explores our dreams and whether they can have any bearing on our future. This was cleverly written and left our minds open to the possibility of our dreams dictating our future. It follows main character Annabelle, her family, and her dreams that seem to be coming to fruition. It is fast paced and alternates between the past and present and told through multiple perspectives. The chapters are short and easy to follow. This book was so good and I highly recommend it.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bantam Publishing for the advanced copy

I recently read The Mrs. Parrish books, so when this one became available, I hopped on the chance to read it. It was told from 4 different perspectives, and at first I was worried it would be a problem, but it all turned out ok in the end. I knew something was "wrong" but I could not predict where or who or why. It was a good read overall!

Annabelle Reynolds has two girls and what she believes is the perfect life - for the most part. However, she starts having dreams and the dreams start coming true and its freaking her out. Her husband doesn't really believe them. Annabelle's oldest daughter Scarlett has been acting really weird during this time and she is worried about what is going on. Annabelle is stressed enough about the dreams and then her boss leaves and she gets a new boss who is sending her on trips with a guy. As all of this is going on in present day the book goes back to the past when Annabelle was in college and had a relationship with a guy named Randy and became pregnant. The story tests the limits of the readers beliefs in the ability to tell the future as you read how Annabelles future comes about in her dreams and reality.

Dream or premonition? Annabelle is having dreams that are coming true. Her dreams are more like premonitions. It’s like déjà vu. Her husband James is resistant to the idea and not convinced Annabelle is having premonitions. Her knee jerk reaction to alter the timeline is concerning to James.
…
James and Annabelle have two daughters. James is the overprotective father while Annabelle is more lenient. Both agree that the girls need to learn to be responsible when it comes to social media. Protecting young girls is vital to the safety of them. Unfortunately, monitoring they’re every interaction online can be difficult.
…
Annabelle took care of her ailing mother. It’s been the two of them since Annabelle was six when her father left to start a new life. Annabelle’s never forgiven her father for abandoning them. Taking care of her mother was overwhelming at times with her trying to start her career.

Liv Constantine writes an excellent story about a mother and wife who has dreams about impending doom upon her daughter and husband. The craziest part is that the things she’s dreaming actually happen. Annabelle does her best to change the way things happen to prevent the worst from happening. It’s a smart intelligent story that’s executed beautifully. I’m captivated by this story. It’s the type of story that delivers unexpected surprises at every turn. I’m on pins and needles awaiting the outcome of these dreams. Everything centers around these dreams. I’m curious where Liv Constantine is going with these dreams. The closer I get to the end the more anxious I get. I’m buzzing with excitement trying to determine what’s at play here.

A book requires a writer and a reader to become successful. Not all writers and readers align. Sometimes a book has exceptional writing yet the reader doesn’t understand the writing voice. Then there are books with less than stellar writing skills and the reader doesn’t want to finished reading. The equation isn’t as clear set as you would expect. In this case, everything aligned in the right sequence. This book checks off all the boxes for a superb read.

Mind boggling ending. I enjoyed this book from start to finish. What an amazing conclusion. I hadn’t seen that ending happening that way at all. I’m thrilled by the closure found in this story. This one will resonate with me for years to come. I’m so glad I requested this book. It turned out to be a fantastic book.
