I want the biggest fan of my dark Romeo. But this book totally made up for it! I loved this story. The narrators did an amazing job!

Another amazing, addictive and emotionally charged book in the Dark Prince Road series. This has become one of my favorite series by LJ and Parker. Great performance by the narrators, great character development, all around fantastic book. I was completely hooked from start to finish!

5 STARS!

The Dark Prince Road series never fails! Another LOL hilarious dark comedy with spicy romance and a cast of characters all equipped with just a pinch of moral bankruptcy. They are an irresistible bunch and I desperately hope we get a Seb book (and his leading lady better be Frankie or I might riot)!

I wanted to like this one so much more. I’ve really enjoyed L.J. Shen’s Truly, Madly, Deeply, but after reading both My Dark Romeo and now My Dark Prince, I think this series just isn’t for me.

This book felt like it went on forever—and not in a good way. It was long, but not a lot actually happened. I didn’t feel much chemistry between Briar and Oliver, and I found myself not really rooting for them as a couple. Their relationship didn’t feel particularly loving or redemptive, and it was hard to believe in their reconnection. That said, the humor in this book (and the series overall) is definitely a high point. There were moments that genuinely made me laugh, and I appreciated the sharp, snarky tone throughout.

I also wish there had been more emotional weight, especially when it came to Seb. His storyline felt unresolved, and considering how involved he was in both of their lives, I really wanted to see more of a conclusion for him. Maybe his story is coming in another book—but I felt like he was left hanging a bit.

I listened to the audiobook for this one and thought the narrators did a great job. My only minor issue was that I kept hearing “son” instead of “Sun” as a last name, and it wasn’t until I was nearly done with the book that I realized who they were actually referring to—definitely more of a me problem than a narrator issue.

Overall, this had some entertaining moments, but it didn’t quite land for me.

Thanks to Dreamscape, I could listen to this audiobook, which was truly an experience. Christian Fox & Andi Arndt did an amazing job getting all the feelings in a row. It was so balanced that I did enjoy it a lot more than I would have while reading myself. The story is quite gripping and had me curious about the past and the present.

Unfortunately, I did read a few reviews before diving in, and that made me question the main character and I was glad that I didn’t read the first few books because I got to see how much biased those reviews were, and in my opinion, Oliver is a sweetheart, no questions asked. He is perfect, and I know that in real life also we are dealt the cards we have no say over. So he’s just misunderstood, sweet guy.

Conversations with Briar or of Briar are always fun to see, and how they both met again for the start of their second chance is so different and entertaining that I had a great laugh. Their moments felt precious. The narrator did get all those feelings on point and gave me butterflies. Now I am very much determined to meet Romeo and Zach in their own books, which, btw I own right now.

LJ Shen and Parker S Huntington really got all their ducks in a row and let the readers have a great time. They are talented, and that shows in their beautiful stories. Hats off. I love all the books, and I’m excited to see if Seb is getting his own book. He deserves his happy ending, too, after all the things he suffered. Happy reading.

A little spicy romance with a hint of a fairy tale. When Briar Rose loses her memory only her boyfriend from 15 years ago is there. She doesn’t remember that he was no longer with her and that she essentially hated his guts. A fun book with humor and spice.

This book was all over the place for me *in a good way* I got attached, I hated some characters to turn out loving them.

4.5 stars!

"Though I knew, deep inside, that trauma leaves permanent marks. Distance just lets us see how far we’ve come."

And boy distance really show how far they've come! I absolutely loved Briar and Ollie's story! A little enemies to lover, sleeping beauty retelling! This story really portrayed how Ollie has grown since the last book! The character growth over all was excellent and how the others supported them throughout it all was a true testament to family!

Now give us Seb's story!!!

Narrating was excellent for one Andi is a favorite of mine. Christian is fairly new to me but did a good job.

The story Oliver and Briar was an interesting pair. Her having amnesia interesting storyline btw. She is unaware that they are what he has made them out to be. However these E2L keep it interesting with the twists and chemistry. But it is so worth reading.

I'm love this group of psychos! Can Seb get his own book please & thank you!

Tropes on steroids.

This book is what happens when an author looks at a list of every romance trope ever created and says, "Yes. All of them." Childhood friends to lovers? Check. Enemies to lovers? Of course. Amnesia? Naturally. Fake engagement? Billionaire? Second chance? Virgins?! The only thing missing was an identical twin or switched at birth. No wait! I can do better! It's missing a accidental pregnancy!

Oliver, sweetie… Why are you acting like Briar is the epic love of your life when you spent two whole books being a certified manwhore? Make it make sense. The cheesy dialogue in this book is unreal and quite a lot. "You’re not a chapter in my life. You’re the whole damn story." Sir, please. My Kindle/Ears physically cringed. Ears because I listened to the 17 hour long audiobook! (Drown me.)

In conclusion, this book is unnecessarily long, like it was written on a dare to see how many tropes could fit into a single story. We did not need 20+ tropes battling for dominance. I spent half my time listening to it and the other half debating whether I should DNF and move on with my life. Would I recommend it? Only if you have the patience of a saint and a high tolerance for very very very long books.

This story takes a classic fairytale and throws it into a blender with amnesia, deception, and a hero who’s as charming as he is morally questionable and I loved it.

Briar wakes up with no memory of the past decade, only to be told she’s engaged to Oliver, America’s most eligible (and most infuriating) billionaire.

She doesn’t remember falling in love with him, but something tells her that love isn’t exactly what binds them together. Hate? Lust? A dark secret? She doesn’t know. And Oliver? Oh, he’s thriving in this situation. He’s been waiting for a second chance with Briar, though his version of "second chance" comes with manipulation, intense chemistry, and a little bit of deception.

The Vibes: Dark, Addictive, and Deliciously Messy
* Enemies-to-lovers with a side of forced proximity
* Billionaire romance with all the luxury & deception
* A hero who's both swoon-worthy & slightly unhinged
* Amnesia trope done right
* A fairytale, but make it twisted

The Characters: Morally Grey & Unapologetic
* Oliver – Rich, powerful, and utterly obsessed with Briar. He’s not exactly Prince Charming… more like Prince Problematic, but in the best way.
* Briar – Strong-willed, confused, and determined to remember what Oliver isn’t telling her. Her journey from helpless to fierce is satisfying.

The Audio Experience: Sultry & Addictive
With Christian Fox and Andi Arndt narrating, the audiobook is pure chef’s kiss. Fox delivers Oliver’s broody intensity perfectly, while Arndt brings Briar’s confusion and defiance to life. If you love audiobooks with great chemistry between narrators, this one’s a must.

This book is a rollercoaster of power plays, passion, and past betrayals. It’s addictive, unputdownable, and gloriously messy in the best way. If you love dark fairytale retellings with billionaire drama and enemies-to-lovers spice, My Dark Prince will have you hooked.

One traumatic moment tears two sweethearts apart. She's alone, except when she's with him. Tragedy and a promise end their romance. Fast forward, a chance meeting, followed by amnesia, create an opportunity to right past wrongs.

What a wild ride this was! I personally commend her for not finding Seb sooner because I would have checked every corner in that house as soon as I was told no. Because why not? I do remember being a little ticked off that the friends were so oblivious about his brother’s whereabouts and the grief he experienced. But overall I can’t say I’d do much differently when it came to our fmc. I feel like we went along with the doctor’s orders to help her amnesia and some even helped recover memories. I kinda wish she was a little more petty but that’s probably because I am 🥰🥰 Overall I enjoyed this book, the growth of the characters, and the relationships formed in it 🥰🥰

This was so fun and such an entertaining book. Also sad the series is done with but what a ride it was. This totally made up for the last book. It had so much personality and there was SECOND CHANCE!! You know I’m always a fan when it’s there. Anyway all the little Dallas and Romeo bits had me rolling. I just knew Oliver was going to be the best and he did not disappoint 🫶🏻 the audio of this book was out of this world. So well done e by both voice actors. Didn’t want to stop listening for a second!!!

Guys! Oh my gosh. Let’s start with the audiobook performance and the narrators. I absolutely love love the choice in narrators. It truly makes all the difference. The story was intriguing and fun from start to end. I truly enjoy this author’s writing style. I love a second chance romance with a bit of enemies to lovers. I hope we get another story highlighting the mmc brother’s story.

I really enjoyed this book! The audio was fantastic and I loved the characters, their banter, and all the twists. I laughed out loud multiple times, it felt a bit longer than it needed to be though.

Thank you so much for this ALC opportunity, it was very entertaining.

Story: 3.5 ⭐️

I thought this was cute. I loved their childhood romance and how sweet Oli is to Briar. I know some people expected Oli to end up with Frankie but honestly this made so much more sense. I also saw some people complaining about how much Frankie was in this book but I don’t get it. She was around but not much more than Dallas or Farrow.

I loved Briar and I’m glad she and Oliver ended up together.

I really want a story for Seb. I’d honesty love to see him and Frankie together. Maybe help each other clean up each other’s hot mess lives lol

Audio performance:
While both narrators did amazing as usual, I’m bummed that Briar had an American accent. The girl was born in NY but then spent her whole life traveling all around the globe and constantly moving. It would’ve been nice to see some sort of accent for her.

I am not sure what the fuss is about. This book was way too long. Briar was douchy. I di not much like her whining. Oliver was sweet although a bit of a whipping post. Like seriously he's on a major guilt trip about virtually everything in the book. I did like the narration. I hated Seb and I don't know who the hell Frankie is, since I have not read the previous books.

First off, I want to commend the narrators! This was a 17hr Audiobook folks! That’s no small feat! So bravo! And great picks too! Loved loved loved Christian Fox & Andi Arndt who read for Oliver and Briar.

Now onto the book, the first 50% was absolutely riveting for me and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next… but then I felt the story just kept dragging on and on? And maybe there were moments that weren’t really needed. I get the authors wanted to make sure the readers are satisfied and tell the ‘whole story’, but it was a LONG one!

I also didn’t always feel the chemistry between Briar and Oliver. And honestly Oliver turned out to be a bit more whiny and less dark for me 😅. Seb was a great side story too, and that’s story line was very tragic… but… it was more like Oliver’s guilt that held him back, which was the darkness?? I kinda lost sight of that piece…

Regardless, I did enjoy the book, but not as ‘dark’ as I had anticipated… so maybe just mis-titled.
