These books are my guilty pleasure, they are so unserious tbh even though this handled a few very dark topics. I liked to see Ollie vb from another perspective and that he wasn’t the asshole the first two books made him out to be. Briar was cute! Loved that she stood her ground and was there for her friends. I enjoy their friend group and the messages ad a nice touch to the story. Im excited to see if we‘ll get another book in this series because of some of the things that happened in this book. I would love to see more of frankie or seb. Also the narrators of the audiobook did a great job & the covers of these books were gorgeous!

Thanks to netgalley & the publisher for this audio arc

I totally read this out of order and started with this book. Though, I was not confused by the characters at all, I will for sure go back and read their stories.

We have Ollie and Briar who were each other's first love. Something happens and Ollie ghosts Briar. 15 years later, a chance encounter and amnesia brings them back together. Briar thinks she is engaged to Ollie and he plays along.

We get to see younger Ollie and Briar and what led to their heartbreak. I really enjoyed the friendships and text exchanges between Ollie and his friends.

I also enjoyed the complex relationship between Ollie and his brother Seb. I am hoping we get Seb's story next.

Christian Fox and Andi Arndt did a great job with narration and bringing all the emotions to life.

Thank you @dreamscape_media @netgalley for a copy of the audiobook.

Quick Summary: A dark romance/Sleeping Beauty retelling

My Review: My Dark Prince written by Parker S. Huntington and L.J. Shen is book #3 in the Dark Prince Road series. It is a 2025 release.

About the Book: "This Sleeping Beauty woke up... In a nightmare."

This novel is "a twisted second-chance romance between a prince haunted by a dark secret and his reluctant Sleeping Beauty.

In My Own Words: Best friends and lovers. Hurts and betrayals. Abandonment and isolation. Scars and pain. Twisted fascination and bitter secrets. Unexpected reunions and mad chemistry. Emotions and all that comes next.

About the Characters:

Briar - >

Briar Rose is all grown up, and she no longer holds on to girlish thoughts about being with her true love. She has been hardened by life, experiences, and the betraying choices of others. Although 15 years have passed between the time of her innocence and her unexpected reunion with Oliver, this time around, she will choose herself and her wants.

Oliver - >

Oliver is a man on a mission. He has made so many mistakes in his life. Choosing Briar was not one of those mistakes. When a chance encounter leads to a horrible injury and a fake situationship, it takes all he has to be honorable to the only woman he has ever truly loved. Then again, maybe their special circumstance will finally give him the chance to come clean and move past the very thing that haunts him.

About the Narration: This novel was narrated by Christian Fox and Andi Arndt. This duo did the thing! They were sensational. I was thoroughly entertained.

My Final Say: Oh my darn! I loved this retelling. It was so fresh, it was totally contemporary, and it was entirely creative. This will certainly be on my read on repeat list. It is a golden gem. Although I have not read the preceding books, I was able to follow the story easily.
