Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC!!
I LOOOOVE this book!! I am here for all of the instalove, and the spice is SPICIN'!!! This is absolutely my favorite Luna Mason book.
The FMC is strong, kind and trying to move on with life after her cheating ex. However, the cheating ex isn't trying to hear all that. Enter our MMC. He makes sure the cheating ex hears ALL THAT. There is DV discussed and happening on page, so check your triggers. This was such an exciting and engaging ride and I'll for sure be recommending this to everyone!!
Also it's marketed as a mafia romance, which it is, but I feel like it's more of a fighter romance with mafia backdrop. (Hopefully that makes sense to anyone other than myself). 😂 My review will be posted on TT later today.

I read this book first time in 2023 and to read it again I realized why I liked it in the first place. Its a perfect blend of spice and plot and is best experienced when gone into it blind.

The only thing I have to say is that the book could of been shorter but that's really it.

🖤🖤🖤

I read my first Luna Mason book last year, a friend recommended it and I devoured it in 24 hours. I was excited to read this one, which I also devoured 😍

After being cheated on, Sienna doesn’t want anything serious, she just wants to go out with her friends and have fun. Keller is a professional boxer, he’s also a mafia enforcer. He can’t afford distractions, so he thinks one night with Sienna will do the trick. But one night isn’t enough, also Sienna is in danger whether Keller is in the picture or not.

I loved Sienna and Keller, they had phenomenal chemistry. Keller and that mouth of his, the spice was also 🧑🏼‍🍳 💋 I loved the side characters, excited to continue the series and get more of their stories.

Thank you Luna, NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the ARC!

I wanted to love this so much, but overall the story was good, but for me it was 3 stars. I did not get as hooked as I wish I would.

I really wanted to like this book, I enjoy dark mafia romances and the blurb of this one sounded great.

The book started strongly, and the storyline felt promising, but unfortunately the execution wasn’t quite what I was hoping for, and I didn’t enjoy the relationship between the FMC and MMC. The MMC was hot and cold toward her, seeing her one night and then forgetting about her for weeks while the FMC was pining for him. In my opinion, there wasn’t that much character growth and toward the end I was just annoyed with the main characters and more interested in the side characters.

Also, the plot was quite basic and it was easy to guess what was going to happen. Worked as a palate cleanser, but not something I would pick up and read again.

Yeah no absolutely a 5 star read. Why have I never read a boxing romance? Mixed with mafia???? Yeah I can’t wait to read the next book. It’s not your typical mafia romance read. It actually had me in tears and in love with all the MCs.

The recently redesigned cover of Distance by Luna Mason is absolutely stunning and sets the stage for the captivating story within. As a reread, this book did not disappoint, reaffirming why Luna Mason remains a standout author in the genre.

Mason’s mastery in balancing multiple storylines with epic spice is truly impressive. Each thread is skillfully woven, creating a tapestry that keeps readers hooked from start to finish. The possessive dark cinnamon roll MMC, which Mason excels in crafting, adds a unique and delightful element to the narrative.

One of the highlights of the book is the character development, particularly Sienna's growth throughout the story. Seeing her evolve and become more nuanced adds depth to the already engaging plot.

Overall, Distance is undeniably a 5-star read. Luna Mason continues to impress with her remarkable storytelling and ability to create memorable characters. For fans of intense, spicy romances with complex plots, this book is an absolute must-read.

I would give this a solid 3.5 stars. It was a good mafia romance with a suspenseful plot following along with Sienna being stalked by her ex. What took it down for me was the epilogue... it was overkill. The spicy scenes throughout were good but the epilogue cheapened it. Every page was a different sex scene and Sienna felt like a different character.

Keller Russo is a wealthy underground fighter who is tied to the mafia. He is their hitman/enforcer and the brother of the head of the strongest mafia head of the NY mafia family.

Sienna Anderson is a newly single British bombshell who enthralls the completely uncatchable and unattainable grouch playboy.

Luna Mason packs in the plot, spice, thrill, and a bit of suspense. This is a first person dual POV story and I ate it up in one sitting.
I literally devoured this book overnight.

Sienna catches her corporate attorney fiance cheating on her and dabbling in recreational party favors, so she leaves him. After a bit of regrouping she goes out to a new club to celebrate with friends and have a time. This is where she crosses paths with Keller in quite a comical way. Shortly after parting ways and his obsession blossoming, he sees her ex, Jamie, aggressively laying hands on her in his very own club. Keller won't stand for that. Keller might not be a "good" man and think she deserves better than him and all the things a broken man might do to hurt his own heart to protect the FMC, but he will protect her.

This is filled with touch her and die, hidden identity, mafia romance, he falls first, he falls hard.

Mason weaves an intense, suspenseful romance filled with high-stakes action, raw emotions, and sizzling chemistry. Keller and Sienna’s connection is electric, making for a compelling push-and-pull dynamic that keeps the tension alive throughout the book. The mix of dark themes, mafia entanglements, and a passionate love story makes Distance an addictive read for fans of the genre.

Sienna’s world shatters the moment she walks in on her fiancé cheating on her. Without a second thought, she leaves him behind, refusing to look back. But he isn't the type to let go easily. The deeper she digs, the more unsettling truths she uncovers about him—secrets that explain his obsession, his persistence, and the eerie way he refuses to accept that it’s over.

Then there’s Keller—towering, tattooed, and dangerously captivating. A mafia enforcer with a reputation that precedes him, yet also a renowned boxer who dominates the ring. From the moment their paths cross, the chemistry between them is electric, undeniable. There’s no slow build, no drawn-out tension—just raw, immediate desire. But Keller isn’t just a distraction from her past. He’s a force of nature, fiercely protective, stepping in not only to shield her from her ex but from the darker forces lurking in the shadows of his own world.

This book delivers the perfect mix of heat and suspense, weaving together passion, danger, and unexpected revelations. For those who love a story that grips you from the start, this one is best experienced without spoilers—just dive in and let it take you for a ride.

Overall, "Distance" offers a dark, suspenseful romance that delves into the complexities of love amidst danger and personal demons. It's a compelling read for those who appreciate intense, character-driven stories set against a backdrop of crime and sport.

ARC Review
This book was AMAZING!
The rollercoaster of emotion this book took me was outstanding. It had the perfect amount of spice, as well as the world building was outstanding. In the spice level, I would give this book a 4/5.
"Is this how you treat the man who saved you from smashing your face into the floor? I can think of a few ways you could repay me."
OH KELLER! - again, the rollercoaster of emotions was amazing and greatly!

Thank you to NetGalley, Kensington and Luna Mason for the opportunity to review this book as a participant of Luna's Mafia.

Keller and Sienna have hot chemistry from the start!! Sienna isn't looking for anything serious after finding her ex cheating on her and Keller is instantly obsessed with her. He hopes that one night will get her out of his system since his double life as a mafia enforcer is too dangerous to draw her into. He will do anything to keep her safe after he realizes she is in danger with or without him around. Their chemistry is great, Keller has the best filthy mouth, and the spice is great!! The side characters are great as well and I can't wait to see more of them! I cannot wait to read more from Luna Mason and this series!!

Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington for the arc of this book. Distance is the first book in the Beneath the Mask series by Luna Mason. This is the first book I have read by this author and I am now a fan. This book is from the dual points of view of female main character Sienna and male main character Keller. Keller is a boxer but the box does not heavily focus on the boxing aspect. This book does start out a little slow but becomes none stop a little bit in. I finished the book in two sittings. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

This was absolutely amazing! I flew through this and read it in less than 24 hours. I loved the dual POV and Keller is just everything you could want in a book boyfriend. I usually don't like FMC in dark romance books but Sienna was an exception for me. I loved how she brought out Keller's softer sweeter side. And the way these 2 met in the beginning was funny and perfect. I'm now obsessed with Luna Mason and mafia romance!

Super spicy and quite the emotional rollercoaster - secrets, emotional baggage, stalker, dysfunctional families, and mafia politics all intertwine in a steamy romance that has it's trials and obstacles. A lot going on, sometimes repetitive, sometimes illogical, but if you like angst and spice, you will love this one.

This book was upsetting as hell. Kind of all over the place and I didn’t feel any chemistry or tension between the characters. It was very instalove/instalust, which usually isn’t my preference. I don’t really feel as though the relationship really evolved into anything more than a hook up. I was more interested in Maddie and Grayson if I’m being honest. This was a good palette cleanser read though!

Not my favourite of hers by any means but I’ll still read her other works!

Thank you to Netgalley for the arc!

I didn't end up enjoying this book as much as I hoped I would.
I have conflicting feelings toward the MMC and some of his action towards the MFC, who in return I would have loved to see focus a little more on her personal growth and strength.
It was a very insta-love kind of relationship and at times I felt like that trope could have been developed better.
I can see what the idea behind this story and plot was but I overall think it was poorly executed.
Distance was my first book from this author and I think her writing is just not really for me as I found it hard to connect with and struggled to finish it at all.
Even if I am somewhat intrigued about some of the secondary characters in this series I don't think I will be going forward with reading the other books anytime soon.
