Danny is being raised by his Dad and his very organized little sister, Katie. As he nears his 15th birthday, Danny thinks he is seeing and hearing strange things surrounding their home. He begins to discover that he and his sister are descendants of an ancient lineage and that he is being called to face something that he believed was only a fairy tale.
It’s a very sweet, coming of age story that weaves an everyday childhood with one of the best legends of all time. Sadly it ends kind of abruptly so I immediately searched for the next book but, it has not been published to date. I am really disappointed and hope there is eventually a sequel.

I stopped this book 22% in and have placed it in my DNF (did not finish) pile. I have no idea what is going on within this book and I have an issue with Danny. He comes off very self-entitled, disrespectful and rude. I was able to look past Danny but the plot was lost. Everything was vague, there was nothing that was keeping me wanting to read this book and the surrounding characters were dry.

Danny Dirks and the Heir of Pendragon is NOT related to the Pendragon series by MacHale. The Danny Dirks novel is fantasy mixed with adventure, a great combination.
