Book 3 of the Taming of the Sheenans series, would work as a stand alone.
McKenna and Trey have loved each other since high school. But Trey's reckless behavior has not made it easy. Shortly after the birth of their son, Trey accidentally killed a man and was sent to prison for manslaughter. TJ, their son, needs a father. So McKenna moves on and is about to marry- until Trey walks in on the wedding. Released early for good behavior, he needs to talk to McKenna before she says "I Do." Reckless Trey strikes again, because suddenly he is driving away with TJ and the bride.
Definitely the best of the series thus far. I really enjoyed this second chance story. McKenna and Trey's relationship seems sincere. And TJ was written age appropriately (which is less common than you'd think and can be a pet peeve of mine.)
