This book was just okay. It was a bit YA and even though it had dark moments, it felt a bit juvenile. Overall, i think it was just okay, but it was not really a book for me, or one I would normally read or enjoy
Thank you to NetGalley, to the author, and to the publisher for this complimentary ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!

Overall, I did enjoy this book - I love anything that raises awareness and destigmatizes mental health and I found Celena's character well-developed, likable, and relatable. The writing style made for quick pacing and I finished this in two sittings! Despite the warnings in the summary, I felt this story had a huge sexual focus that wasn't always necessary. I know that sexual fixation is a common symptom with mental health needs, but I felt a lot of it had more to do with other characters than Celena. Now, I'm not naive and know it's a normal part of growing up and teenagers finding themselves, but parts of the story were so graphic that it took away from the mental health focus and turned it into something else entirely - I don't want to give too much away, but some parts were overly erotic to the point I had to double check what I was reading. Had there been more focus on the characters themselves and their plot development, I would have enjoyed this more. Not a bad book by any means, but it wasn't quite what I expected. Thanks for the ARC!

I felt for this teen so much. It's such a hard time in life. As a well person you question everything. You jave really horrible days and have paranoid thoughts, feel irrational...I could go on
So let's add being actually poorly with mental illness? Ouch. Big Ouch.
This book features some really key points. It would I think help a sufferer of the age feel less alone. Or at least give them something to bounce off with their own similar experiences.
It was sensitive and tender yet not cliche nor did it hold things back. Which was good to not make it become a "soap opera" style illness which is spoon far beyond watered down versions of the illness it's rediculous.
