eARC provided by NETGALLEY!! Thank you!!
This was so adorable I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole time, bot even lying. Cogs love of food is so real, he just like me fr, and Marcus is such a bubbly guy it’s infectious. I love them sm and I barely know them since it’s only the first volume. There were a couple typos, like an accidental letter at one point, but good overall. I seriously loved this sm I miss graphic novels and such.

This is by far one of the best things I've read this year. I wished it was five hundred pages longer. I'm obsessed with these characters and the cute romance that is blooming. Please publish more!!

Ahhh!!

Everyone needs to read!!

High school is never easy. There are crushes, there are breakups; it seems like a never-ending rollercoaster. How people show their interest in another human is always different. Different strokes for different folks. Marcus seems to have developed feelings for Cog. They start bringing them lunch once a week to show that they care. As their story progresses, could this become more than a crush? Could it be mutual? You’ll have to read it to find out!
I’m not sure how I found myself reviewing multiple love story graphic novel/manga, but this one was too cute to pass up! I thoroughly enjoyed the artwork, the characters, and the story. I hope the second one comes out soon!
Edit: I found the WebToon and there will be no productivity for the rest of the day.

Thank you NetGalley, Moosopp, and Wattpad Unscrolled for a copy of this graphic novel in exchange for an honest review.

3/5

I have to say first, that I’ve come across Mosoop’s work on the internet before so I was very aware of their art style. It’s very cute and animated, and I think the character designs are well done, you never find yourself confused about who is who. I think the page layouts are easy enough to read (although, at times, I wish it was clearer that we’d moved on to a new day. Many of the sections read as though they’re taking place on the same day, and it can get confusing to keep track of if you’re trying to focus on the story.) Overall, for the type of story this is, I think the art style fits it well.

My gripe comes from the story itself. It’s, at the end of the day, a slice-of-life cute romance story. I knew going in that it would be cute from the art style alone. I’ve read slice-of-life comics before and highly enjoyed them. This one, however, was quite boring to me. It comes down to the fact that every single day, the scenario is nearly the exact same. The stoic character meets the happy-go-lucky character. They talk. One or the other says something cute about the opposite party, they blush, rinse and repeat. This is what happens for 269 pages. I’m certainly not asking for there to be over-the-top drama or bone-shocking plot revelations, but I feel there has to be something more than just the characters being cute with each other to have a satisfying read.

As it stands, for me, there is no story here. These are a bunch of separate events spliced together in one book. It’s cute, don’t get me wrong. I love the diversity, don’t get me wrong. However, I’m simply not invested in these characters. I don’t understand why they like each other. I don’t understand who they are as people. What do they like outside of what’s told to us? What do they dislike outside of what’s told to us? Why should I care about them as characters? Why should I care about their romance with each other? For now, I’m simply not very impressed with the characters or plot and it’s such a shame because I do love the diversity within the cast and there are some truly funny moments.

Overall, I think there’s a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the next book. I would love to read the next one and see how it goes, but, to be completely honest, I wasn’t blown away this time.

Thank you again Netgalley, Mosoop, and Webtoon Unscrolled for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Marcus and Cog are two high school students with big, obvious crushes on each other. Obvious to everyone but each other, of course. As they get closer to each other, they share hilarious misunderstandings and adorable moments.

This was too cute for words! The mutual crushes paired with the mutual inability to talk about their crushes led to plenty of funny and sweet moments between Marcus and Cog. I also loved how diverse the cast of characters is! I hope as the series continues we see more of the side characters and their own stories unfold.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC I exchange for an honest review.

I’ve been reading this graphic novel for about a year now on WEBTOON and I was so excited to see it getting licensed. I literally screamed when this popped up on NetGalley cause I didn’t even know!! Cog and Marcus are my babies and seeing them again makes me so damn happy. This is one of my favorite series and I am biased in the fact that I love them so much. Marcus is the sweetest baby and Cog is so straight forward and shy. I love their dynamic. They are so flipping sweet together. Their friends are also pretty funny and I’m looking forward to when things progress a bit more and the story goes forward. I also just love seeing two black MCs having an adorable love story. I’m deff buying this in July because I want to support the hell out of it.

I received an e-ARC and am giving my honest review!

AHH this was SO CUTE. I read the whole thing in one sitting and then immediately opened Webtoon to continue it. I absolutely adore this so, so much, the characters are SO good. I was giggling and kicking my feet the entire time and couldn’t get over the art style!!! It’s so, so cute, Marcus especially I am obsessed with the character design of. This was seriously just so cute and was so refreshing. It completely vamped my mood and made me feel so much happier and lighter. Seriously such a cute comic

Adorable!

This is volume one of a Webtoon about 2 schoolmates. One character, Marcus, has an obvious crush on the other, Cog. The first volume is essentially Marcus doing things to express his affection for Cog and finding reasons to hang out with them more. As it progresses, Cog slowly (incredibly slowly) realizes Marcus' feelings.

I thought this was incredibly diverse. The art style is very, very cute and I loved how the expressions for the characters were depicted. Everyone shone in their own way and I even liked the side characters, too! I liked Cog's family, his friend Toma, and the little bit we saw of Marcus' godbrother. I laughed quite a few times and I loved how Cog's direct personality left Marcus stammering and flustered. It's a cute dynamic.

If you're looking for a quick, adorable, queer webtoon to read, this is definitely a recommend! I'm looking forward to reading the next volume.

I really enjoyed this read. it was cute, quirky, and the characters were very age appropriate. The graphics were what ultimately earned 5 stars to me. I loved the diversity within daybreak and how it was very modern with character styles. The plot was easy going and easily sets up for the next installment.

Daybreak is a cute graphic novel about two friends from different peer groups slowly coming to the realization that they might have feelings for one another.

If was cute to see the friendship between Cog and Marcus. While Marcus seems a little more sure of his feelings for Cog it was cute to see their relationship develop across the pages. It is reminiscent of Heartstopper, and I think if you enjoyed that you will enjoy this as well! The illustrations were well done and very cute.

If you are looking for a cute lighthearted and fun read, I would absolutely recommend this. It was a nice bright spot in my day! Thank you to the publisher for providing an advanced readers copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and Wattpad/Webtoon Group for the e-arc!

Daybreak is the story of Marcus and Cog falling for each other. So far, this seems like it will be a cute slice-of-life romance where someone is crushing hard while the other is clueless. If you are a fan of Heartstopper, you will enjoy this as it gives a similar vibe while being lighthearted and comedic. I am going to continue reading this series as the volumes come out as I'm curious to see when the main two will get together.

I had previously started this when it was only available in it's Webtoon format, and I'm glad it's being formatted physically for others to read, because its pretty darn cute. The art style and the queer representation were wonderful. I have my own personal problems with this book, such as it jumping into the story too quickly without any buildup or character development, and the lack of development in general, which led to some loss of connection to the characters and seemingly unjustified romantic feelings. But, regardless, there are people out there that would love this.

I LOVE THIS! I absolutely am hooked on their love story. The art? Stunning. The colors used are gorgeous. The different facial reactions were both funny and so relatable. Genuinely gasped when it ended because i need more. So much more. The diversity, The love of food and theater is so cute. The height difference was also adorable and a wonderful touch seeing the more masculine appearing Cog to be the short one. I will Genuinely be waiting for the next release.
