When writing reviews for this fabulous series I always have a sense of de-ja-vu as it's consistency in it's delivery never falters and book 22 follows this trend.

Book 22 sees Josie at it's centre after the abduction of her Noah and Josie is challenged to see the investigation unfolding from the other side of the table, while her instincts scream at her to take control.

The suspense and emotional roller coaster ride that you go on with Josie as she tries to remain detached sees her vulnerable and exposed as we gain a clearer insight into her traumatic and you can't help but invest in her character even more.

An intense emotive read well deserving of its five stars.

This is the 22nd book in the Detective Josie Quinn Series. I have loved every book even when Lisa has broken my heart and somehow I have soldiered on. This latest instalment of the series is another one that had me on the edge of my seat.

With Noah missing and a string of connected cases all of which Josie shouldn't be investigating, then throw in Josie's past and it makes quite the story. Josie of course does not sit quietly and wait for everyone else to find Noah. This isn't Josie's way and I love her for it. Josie has grown so much since book 1. From someone who was dead inside to someone surrounded by friends and family who she loves and love her but she's always been a tough cookie who can hold her own.

Lisa has created another page turner here. From beginning to end I couldn't read quick enough. I just needed to know what happened next. What an addition to the series this is!

Thank you to Bookouture for my copy of this book via netgalley and for letting me take part in this tour.

As blown away as I was by the previous book in the Detective Josie Quinn series, this one was as much of a biting your nails and sitting on the edge of your seat to see how the story would end. At the beginning, I didn’t understand why the title was Husband Missing (I didn’t read the synopsis because I knew I would love the book because it was part of the Josie Quinn series.) But you don’t get too far in before you are drawn into the story and you are emotionally drawn in and anxiously waiting to find out if Noah survives. There are so many twists an turns, clues that have to do with Josie’s years of growing up with a psychotic mother, and the trail of horror she left in her wake. The support Josie receives from her biological family keeps her sane through this difficult time. There are some aha moments that will have you gasping in shock. But that’s what makes Lisa Regan the queen of mystery thrillers. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I can’t wait to get lost in the world of Josie Quinn. Put this series at the top of your to-be-read list. It will be worth every second you spend lost in the pages!

I will read absolutely any Josie Quinn story - this one had me on the edge of my seat and I read it in less than a day. I've been reading these books for 5+ years and almost feel like I know these characters. I was so invested in finding out what happened to Noah.

This was edge of your seat suspense and also just terror for Josie. I don't think we'd recover from another loss. it never ceases to amaze me how incredibly Lisa Regan can weave in the history of 21 books (!!!!) so impeccably and having also made them so memorable that we follow it all, with good prompts throughout. I'll never tire of following Josie and the team and as always, can't wait for the next book to drop. Highly recommend.

Thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and the author for my e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I have to admit, Husband Missing took me a little while to get into, but once I did, I couldn’t put it down. Lisa Regan has created a story that eases you in slowly before pulling you into a whirlwind of suspense and emotion. Now, I’m eager to catch up on the earlier books in the Josie Quinn series to get the full picture.

The story follows Josie Quinn, a detective who is no stranger to trauma. She survived a kidnapping by a downright unhinged woman who left destruction in her wake. Now in her 30s and trying to build a life with her husband, Noah, Josie’s world is turned upside down when she comes home to a chaotic house and finds Noah missing. That moment sets off a chain reaction of chilling clues and high-stakes investigation that forces her to confront both external dangers and unresolved issues from her past.

Regan blends nail-biting tension with layered character arcs so that every chapter feels vital. As Josie scrambles to figure out what happened to Noah, the stakes soar, and I was completely absorbed, flipping pages like there was no tomorrow.

Her writing is engaging without being overwhelming. There is just enough detail to paint vivid scenes while leaving plenty of room for your own imagination. Josie’s struggle feels real, and her determination to uncover the truth makes her an incredibly compelling protagonist. The mix of the official investigation with her personal quest adds rich complexity that lifts this well beyond your standard detective thriller.

The bond between Josie and her twin sister, Trinity, stands out, offering both tenderness and resilience that balance all the chaos perfectly.

One of the most intriguing aspects of this book is Roe Hoyt. As a newcomer to the series, I found her a pivotal character with a dark past that casts a long shadow. She is Lila’s mother (Lila is the kidnapper). Roe’s story adds an unexpected emotional depth to the narrative, and her connection to Lila amplifies the mystery while adding complexity to Josie’s investigation.

Once the story gains momentum, the pacing becomes relentless, with twist after twist keeping me on my toes from start to finish. There is a flawless blend of danger and suspense that makes this book a compelling ride every step of the way.

Overall, Husband Missing is a fast-paced, emotional thriller with an intricate plot and strong character development.

Just a heads up, this book is a part of a series, but it works as a standalone. Whether you read it on its own or dive into the full Josie Quinn series, it is a must-read if you crave mysteries that pack both heart and high-stakes suspense.

Big thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for my digital ARC copy.

The latest Josie Quinn mystery finds her investigating the murder of a construction company magnate. However, things take a quick turn when her husband is abducted, and it seemingly has to do with her abuser, Lila. Even dead, Lila is still causing Josie problems. She must figure out how everything is connected before it is too late for Noah.

Another good entry in this series! There is a lot of previous stories' plot mentioned in this one. While Regan does a pretty good job giving some background, I think it would be in the best interest of the reader to go back and at least read the ones involving Lila. I do hope now though that this story arc is fully fleshed out (we got the answers about Lila's mom that she had alluded to before). Some character development with Josie and Noah's adoption quest, but I am interested to see how this handled in future books. Can't wait for the next as always!

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

At 22 books in, Regan continues to deliver in the Josie Quinn universe, and when I reach the end of a book I'm happy she puts them out regularly because the cliff hangers get me every time. Free advanced copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Husband Missing by Lisa Regan
Detective Josie Quinn # 22

Intense intricately plotted superbly told roller coaster ride from beginning to end ~ Couldn’t put it down!

What I liked:
* Josie: homicide detective, survivor with huge backstory in the previous books, wife to Noah, strong, resilient, intelligent, team player, compartmentalizes, has much to deal with this time
* Noah: police department lieutenant, Josie’s husband, calm, wise, good leader, sees the big picture, good man, kidnapped and time is ticking while they search for him
* Catching up with characters from previous books in the series, being reminded of their parts in the past, and wondering how they will show up in the future
* The glimpse into Josie’s biological family, how they are doing, how protective they are of one another, and how there are there for Josie when Noah is kidnapped
* Kyle Turner: relatively new hire, difficult, inappropriate, glued to his phone, seems a misfit for the team…but also seems to have a backstory I want to hear…and he is growing on me ;)
* The twists and turns and complexity of this book
* The deeper look into the backstory of the woman that kidnapped Josie when she was a baby – I had to draw a family tree in the end and realized how twisted things really were
* The police procedural aspects with the intense methodical work going back to the past to solve current crimes
* The love between Noah and Josie and how strong it is
* The last page with the visitor who arrived ~ Can’t wait to see what happens next!

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant to dislike
* Thinking about how evil some people are and then wondering if it is to do with nature or nurture and how they could live without remorse for some of the things they did

Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Definitely

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Oh, Lisa Regan. Just when I think you couldn’t possibly write a book that would rip my heart out any more than the last, you somehow do. I do not know how you keep writing book after amazing book, and yet with each new installment, you blow my mind with your fantastic storytelling again.

Here, Josie returns home after catching a new case involving the murder of Gina Phelan, part of the Phelan Construction family. But when she gets there, she doesn’t find Noah waiting for her. Instead, she finds her home torn apart, blood everywhere, and Noah gone.

Josie is used to being the one solving the crimes, not the one waiting for the police to do their job. Y’all know she can’t turn off her investigative brain with Noah missing and time of the essence. And it soon becomes clear that Josie is going to have to go way back down memory lane to unravel this mystery – all the way back to Lila, the woman who kidnapped Josie and made her life a horror.

I’m so used to Josie and Noah being able to bounce things off each other as they investigate crimes that it was weird having a story without him as part of the team. But we get to see more of Trinity, Josie’s twin sister, as she uses her journalistic know-how to help Josie piece together clues. And this time, Turner isn’t quite as much of a troll as he has been in previous books. Maybe he’ll actually end up being a likable person and a good detective? We can hope!

The story ties up some of the loose ends left hanging from Josie’s younger years. And as she so often does, Lisa Regan ends things in a way that leaves me biting my nails waiting for the next one. I’m not going to tell you how she does it. That’s her job, and she does it admirably. Go get the book and get to reading! And while you can read this book as a stand-alone, you’ll want to start with book one and get alllllllll the backstory.

Husband Missing by Lisa Regan is another exceptional installment in the Detective Josie Quinn series, and it’s absolutely deserving of a five-star rating. Regan continues to deliver a fast-paced, gripping narrative that had me hooked from the very first page. This book is a perfect blend of suspense, emotional depth, and well-crafted twists, keeping me on the edge of my seat throughout.

What I’ve loved about every book in this series is the depth of the characters, particularly Josie. She’s a strong, relatable protagonist whose growth throughout the series makes her feel even more real with each book. The way Regan layers her personal struggles with the intensity of the cases she solves gives the story an emotional resonance that elevates it beyond just a typical mystery.

Husband Missing is another thrilling and emotionally charged addition to the series, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who loves a great, character-driven mystery. Regan has once again proven her talent, and I’m eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series!

Lisa Regan does it again with this Detective Josie Quinn book. This book kept me on pins and needles the entire time. I kept trying to figure out all the links and she definitely kept me on my toes.

When Josie gets called out to a murder scene and leaves Noah at home, she comes home to find the house ransacked, blood everywhere and Noah gone. Just like that Josie’s life is completely shattered, what would she do if Noah was no longer alive?

Taken off all her cases Josie has nothing to stop her thoughts from wandering. With Trinity at her side the two women work a shadow investigation and follow any and all the leads they find. Did Josie’s past come back to haunt her yet again?

This book did not let up from the minute it started, I devoured it and just wanted to keep reading, I had to find out what happened.

Thank you, NetGalley and Lisa Regan, for the ARC of this book.

Detective Josie Quinn makes a powerful return in this electrifying story. That grips you from start to finish. As Josie and her husband Noah, are busy transforming their spare room into a nursery for the baby they are eager to adopt. When Josie is called to the scene of a murder at a demonstration outside a children's hospital. Where Gina Phelan has been brutally stabbed to death, and after hours of intense investigation, she returns home, exhausted and saddened. Only to discover her house ransacked, her dog shut away, and her husband missing.

And so a frantic search kicks off, but Josie is understandably sidelined from the official investigation. Which leaves her with too much time on her hands and left contemplating a life without Noah. So she decides to pour all her energy into the Phelan case.

Yet, as she starts to delve deeper. The two investigations suddenly collide. When prints on the knife that was used to kill Gina are found inside her home.

But why would the killer of Gina Phelan target her husband?

And with a whirlwind of revelations and twists and turns. This is a story that enthrals and comes together spectacularly, leaving readers with an unforgettable ending and a thirst for more!

Husband Missing is another suspenseful crime thriller in Lisa Regan's Detective Josie Quinn series. In this installment, Regan delivers a tale that blends personal anguish with critical police investigation.

Josie and her husband Noah are making preparations for what they hope will be a joyful moment in their lives. Then Josie gets called to a crime scene. On her return home, she finds her house ransacked with blood on the floor and her husband missing. As a police officer, finding him was crucial but Josie couldn't be involved in the investigation. However, not one to sit by idly waiting for answers, she discretely searched for clues Her search opened a big can of worms. It would seem that not only was Noah's disappearance linked to her traumatic past, but there was also a connection to the murder scene she went to earlier.

Husband Missing, book 22 in the series packed an emotional punch. Another page-turning installment that evokes a variety of emotions. Previous books portrayed Josie as a tough cop; however, in Husband Missing, readers are exposed to her vulnerability. Always objective when conducting investigations, she finds her objectivity getting tested.

Throughout the story, one could feel her turmoil. The uncertainties weighed on her; however, the help of family and friends made navigating the uncertainties bearable.

Regan skillfully weaved all the threads together, providing a comprehensive view of the shocking and diabolical situation. Then at the moment when one believes questions have been answered, Regan drops a bombshell ending that leaves one hankering for the next book.

Another great addition to the series. Josie goes through so much in this book and she has to do it without her husband. She has to disconnect from the case, but she can’t. Everything relates to her past, it is so interesting how the plot unfolds and how it relates to Josie. You have to read it to see how. This was a very engaging read that kept me guessing, I really enjoyed how they found Noah and a connection saved his life. The ending makes you want more now, I definitely can’t wait to read the next book. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
